So basically the Pretenders can shrink down to human size?!? No wonder TF gradually started to wain after the Headmaster series...... Unfortunately, due to the world we live in today, "Headmaster" would conjure up a completely different connotation as opposed to a Transformer with a head that can transform....

@trence5 You know, I agree Transformers went seriously down hill for a long time but Armada and Animated Series in my opinion, even if they weren't exactly what I wanted, really caught the spirit of what the originally show was supposed to be about, so i think it is getting better, but maybe that's just me.

"The Headmasters", "Super-God Masterforce", "Victory", "Zone", "Beast Wars II", "Beast Wars Neo", "Car Robots", "Micron Legend", "Super Link", "Galaxy Force" and "Robot Masters" are all pure anime. Only "Car Robots" through "Galaxy Force" were imported to the US.

Not all of them. The Pretenders are robots disguised as humans. Plus you've got Grand Maximus and BlackZarak who were robot lifeforms to begin with. But the Powermasters (Godmasters in Japan) and the Headmaster Juniors are humans.

Here's the sad truth, this was one of the better written Japanese version of Transformers.
