  • Man i never thought people would be able to do that. But now as i saw it im totally trying it tomorrow at the lake. Thanks for the tip. Go California!

  • love the mullet

  • Yes, you can absolutely apply it to other baits.

Luis, I'm glad to hear it went smoothly for you. I don't really live in the bay, more toward Sacramento.

  • Can the skipping technique be applied to other type of lures...like cranks, jigs, worms, etc.?

  • Great video Matt! You were right, not too hard of a technique- was able to get it down first cast last weekend! Now if I could master getting a swimbait fish every time out, I'd be set! lol

    Any luck lately?

BTW what city in the Bay Area are you in?

  • The rest of the trip went fairly well, thank you for asking. I'd be happy to give you some tips on Clearlake but it varies a bit year to year. Email me when the time draws closer and I'll try to give you some insights.

  • Hey there Matt- another great video, thanks for sharing! So how did the rest of the Clear Lake trip go? Any pointers or advice for Clear Lake swimbaiting? Myself and a few buddies are going for the first week of April and it will be my first swimbait trip to that lake. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks again for all that you do!

  • Yes, you can skip hard bodied baits as well.

  • Cool video, but is it possible to skip a hard body swimbait?

  • HA NOW THATS HARDCORE RIGHT THERE

  • It definitely results in some backlashes but you just saw me do a few casts without one. It really does work.

We did okay but it was COLD!!!!

  • LOOKS LIKE BACKLASH CITY to ME...LOL

    Wont catch me doin that

  • Looks cool. Did you guys do any good that night?

  • awesome!

  • **I should add that I had a slip of the tongue in this video. That is 80 lb braided mainline with a 30 lb leader, not the reverse as stated in the video.**
