I have seen them all. Black Sabbath (with OZZY) to BOC and Pink Floyd. These guys ROCK with the best when it comes to LIVE music. Even after all these years. My granddaughter now collects their music at age 14.
Dax is drumming great, about 90% the way Bun E does it. That extra 10% is Bun E's precise and wicked idiosyncratic style. Dax is slightly on the conventional side of modern rock drumming, choosing the loud and splashy path a little too much.
Our parent's generation had bands and soloists who played their greatest hits by the time they were the age these guys are. These guys just happen to still be fit, have high energy, and STILL SOUND REALLY GOOD. More power to them.
@gweddle Bun e is still considered a full member of Trick , but he is playing is a band called Power Windows with james iha (smashing pumpkins) and one one of the kids from Hanson YES i said Hanson???? WE MISS U BUN E :)
Rick has often been lazy with his backing vocals when I've seen them. It's cool to see him singing his parts here. His background vocals are such a key part of the "Cheap Trick" sound.
I like when bands keep touring for years and years, but sometimes you think why? They were a great band, but what are they doing now that they haven't done already?
@NathanHotDogs They're playing live. Which is what they do. Their a 'working' American Rock band. They play gigs for money. Just released their 16th album 'THE LATEST'....Should I keep going man?...
@charles1967 I love Cheap Trick, yet they always seemed to like this small venue over the big venue. They were the main band at the Coliseum when I saw them in 1980, and Journey opened for them, and they seemed to not like it much. Great Band. Just that this is going on now 40 years and nothing new. They just play the same stuff over and over. It is ok, but not that exciting. But I do love their music. They are legends.
I've seen lots of shows at Emerald Queen and Hands down this was THE BEST! (With the exception of Ted Nugent and Alice Cooper) What I'd lke to know is how did someone get such a great video? I've never been allowed to even take a camera in.
from Bun's wiki page...On March 19 2010 an official statement was issued informing that Bun E would not be touring with Cheap Trick but that he still remains a band member.
Awesome video, but didnt he mess up the lyrics in the first verse? Where he said "gotta get some action get some action tonight." I am pretty sure it is "Gotta hear some rockin music it feels just great?"
Again though, it doesnt matter, I would have loved to hear this song live! They also need to work "he's a whore" into more of thier sets.
As a CT fan since 1979 let me say THANK YOU for posting. I should have been at this show but I don't own a car and I'm stuck in Everett! I have seen CT 6 times and met the band at least twice and have all four autographs on my Dream Police album from when they played the Under The Rail club 2/22/95!
Where the hell Is Carlos??????

They sound AMAZING! I do believe they sound better every year.
BTW...Robin looks extremely sexy in that leather jacket and sunglasses (just my opinion though)

Perhaps the best live rock band the USA ever produced. Zander still sounds and looks like he did on "At Budokan." Amazing....

@TrickyTolles64 You mean they aren't manufactured stars like pretty boy Bieber with his perfect hair and studio-altered voice?
groov539 7 months ago
Why? Because they:
a) Still have an audience
b) Love it
c) Still make great records
d) Are well paid

I want to see that bass a little better!
also, Rick- need a different coat when you play Explorers! (yes I know it's a custom
Hamer Standard ) I suggest a Conductor's 'tails'.
Enjoyed speaking with you guys in West Palm for a second.

So Dax is in full time? That's cool. But now when I buy tickets for the gigs (as I've done for them since 1976), I will only pay 3/4 price. :)
