  • awesome vid, i just sold mine, how much did u get out of it?

  • this is the right way to show off your ranger

  • Loving the ranger man, just bought the same truck last night but after i got off the highway i didnt have any gears!. i could pick a gear when she was shut off but i had to start out in that gear and thats all i would have?.. any ideas? anyone and its only a 2.9 5 speed

  • @1m1i1k1e17 not sure if u fixed it yet but if u have an exhaust leak it might have burned a hole in ur clutch line happened to mine

  • Cant wait till i can turn my ranger into a BA truck like that, but for now i need fuel economy

  • do u know what kind of tires was on it???

  • hahahah YES!! three straight lifted ranger videos and they all had metallica playing!

  • @leathergunn i used to have a 95 ford ranger and i had lifted it, i suggest a 3" body lift with a 5 or 6 inch suspension lift, id put new gears and drive shaft though, that will fit your 35's good, you might even be able to go a little bigger, hope this helps.

  • I got a 94 ford ranger and I just bought 35 x 13.5R15 114L KRAWLER tires does anyone know what I would need to get to fit them on perfectly ??? Im new to the whole lift kit stuff

    Thanks.

  • makin some good ol' memories in the ranger.

  • nice truck i totaled mine an this video hit home

  • is that jeep cherokee axels?

  • im selling my 85 ranger. needs a distrubuitor stator. to run again! mine is pretty cool

  • @mylezkennedy why would you sell it for that 20-150$ and 20mins-1 hour of work

  • thats a real nice looking ranger buddy to bad you let it go....got some nice looking trails out where you are where abouts are you at in new brunswick im in halifax

  • To the OP.. What made you decide to sell it ? Was it because of problems or just personal/financial reasons.. that was a nice rig you had there man. I love the gen 1 rangers

  • where did you get the solid axle? buy it or get off an old jeep etc.

  • How long total did it take you to do all of this?

  • I only ran the truck for 6 months before I sold it so I had no powertrain troubles. I had about 4 ground into it. That includes buying the truck.

  • did you go through many clutches in this bad boy? i just bought a 92 with a six inch took it muddin and shattered the clutch.. i guess thats common? first real play truck i had, not real experienced

  • @08SilveradoLT There are many ways to do this. i'm assuming you're lift is a drop-shackle type kit. in that case, the drop shackles need to be (for a 6 inch lift) 6 inches below the stock pivot point, and the springs need to be 6" taller than stock. other ways are: cut and turned beams, or using shims (for an inch or two of lift) or any combination of these things. remember camber is the least important alignment factor, so it close is fine.as long as toe and caster are good it'll be fine.

  • what was the ending total to the whole project?

  • looks like some damn good times.

  • @08SilveradoLT Are you sure? twin i beam (twin traction beam if 4x4) actually excels over a solid axle in many ways. (articulation with more than 4" lift not being one of them)

i've got quite a few TTB flogging videos on my channel if you want to see. it's my preferred front axle setup in fact.

  • im not a fan of fords but thats a pretty nasty lil toy. good job

  • nice ranger bud! im at works on my ranger now. and i was wondering how u put the strait axle on the front and what was it out of man?

  • I love my ranger when it looks like yours at 5:12

  • yeah good job dude!! did u made ur own lift kit ?

  • hey guys chill out this is about trucks and mud you want to bitch about the band go do it with your thumb in your mouth crying to momma when we splash you with a whole fuck load a mud

  • now thats slick i should do that to my ranger

  • mr. ballzdeep?

    sir?

could you please tell all of these fucking dunces that the song you have playing on this video is the cover of tuesdays gone performed by BLUES TRAVELER?!?!?!

i will reasearch and prove this fact

  • i really think your all on drugs...the song is Tuesdays Gone originally played by lynyrd skynyrd..And of course this is metallica doing what i must say is the worst covers of this song ive ever heard. Fuck metallica and fuck all they stand for. when Cliff Burton died the rest of the god damn band died with him.

  • you are sooo fucking retarded. and yes i get stoned thats why i know these things.

  • Now that is what a truck is for!

  • nice way to save an old ranger. i like the custom fab suspension. ur band sounds good too!

  • thanks for not divorcing me lol

but the tunees are by lynyrd skynyrd not metalica

  • its a matallica cover of lynyrd skynyrd song

  • you are retarded since when does metallica have a harmonica -player and two lead singers?????

    fucking retard

  • I cant find a core trans. for my 1984 4x4 ranger can u tell me if another year will fit if so ,What yr.

  • ok i have a few questions for you, i want to do this same swap in my ranger what did you do for rear leaf springs to get the lift. Did the jeep coils fit into the ranger frame without any fabrication? Is that the stock ranger steeering? How much steel did you buy and could you be specific on the lenghts and what sizes? What did you do for brake lines? What coils did you use for the front to lift it? thanks for all your help and your ranger looks filthy i hope mine looks as good as yours!!!

  • thats a nice lookin ranger!!!!,,,,, i am also planning a strait axle swap on my explorer,, and i was wondering ,,as far as driveshafts ,,anything need to be done to mate up with the dana30? and also,, is the jeep dana 30 a "high pinion" or did you have to kick it up a bit to get a good drive angle on the front driveshaft?? and is this mainly a "trail truck" or can it be driven on the freeway at 70??? any info would be greatly appreciated,, thank you.

  • were r u bathurst woodstock cambellton

    saint-quentin ??

  • Thanks. I loved it.I wish that I didn't have to sell it.

  • Sold it.

i have an 87 and this looks tight!

  • It's been like 2 years since I built it. If i remember it had 8 or 9'' with 35's.

  • them long arms look to be vulnrable to rocks etc.

  • thats the eacts same truck im getinig in a couple days 1988 though and i am so pumped

  • i love that ranger. after putting lift an tires did u do anything to the motor

  • I just gears it.The rest was stock except the tcase.

  • are you currently a member of TRS? cause i sure would like more info on this! where did the 4:56's come from? stock ranger 7.5 rear? how did you make it articulate with the setup how it was? wouldn't it bind? steering setup? you didn't weld it all with that little 120 did you???

  • I am a member of TRS.I bought the gears new from my supplier.8.8 rear diff. Why would it bind. Its the same set up Jeeps have been using.I dont see anywere in the vid that there was a 120 welder.

  • i saw a small welder and assumed. also that setup could bind under heavy articulating, but i dont understand why it hasn't at all yet. (probably just frame flexing rank) also could you post a link where jeeps are running this setup so i can study it? i plan on doing a SAS of my own on an 88. also, i didn't know it was 8.8 but ok.

  • @ballzdeepranger Thats a Miller 140 dude

  • @ballzdeepranger my bad with the welder.

and im readin up on the swap, but i'd like to run a little more power

  • that is a nice i truck i love ford rangers

  • this is in new brunswick right?

  • ya it is

  • Awesome video, that soundtrack and those pics make me want to take my Ranger out wheelin regardless of the 4 inches of snow on the ground

  • metallicas cover of tuesdays gone

  • very nice. you retained the stock 2.9? i like the 2.9's. they're peppy and reliable. mines got 275000k and still runnin' strong. need a new tranny tho. currently under repiars.thanks for the help it was great. ps are you currently a member of trs?if no feel free to join.good site really helpful. are you an experienced welder/ mechanic? to do that in a weekend you mucs have some experience. anywasy only have 1 question. did the gears for yous diff need to be changed to match the ranger?

  • Fuck man thats BADD ASS!!! i wish i had the time, money, and equiptment. I own the same year and model.88 v6 2.9 5speed. 4inch lift, 3 inch body, 31.10.50.15 super swamper ssr's. want to go bigger but its hard for me haha! nice truck!!!!!!!

  • very nice truck i have a 89 2.9. i want to do something along the lines of what you did i am going to swap a 4.0 into it eventually. great vid!

  • Thanks!4.0l would be grat but you'd be suprised what the 2.9 will do if you gear it!!

  • Hey, that is a HELL OF A NICE TRUCK! I was lookin at the BFG MT's and probably about 32", but how do you like them? Mud wise and on the road wise, I am gettin them for my everyday truck, but I do, do a lot of off roadin in it. I have a 1998 Ford Ranger V6 3.0L lifted, no vids tho. Thanks for you help!! Also do you remember how much they were a tire?

  • I liked the MT's.They are a great overall truck. There is more aggrisive out there but if you do any kind of road driving these tires work very well. They also work well in the mud.Somtimeshard to clean thow. This is my third set on 3 diffrent rigs. They seem to wear very well.Theu cost me 1100 bucks canadian for 35's.Hope this helps!!

  • how long did it take you to fab the suspension, and about what was the cost as i am looking do simiular with my 92'

  • Around 300 bucks in materials,200 for front coils,100 bucks in shocks allrady had a front diff.Built and installed the frontend in a weekend.

  • My name is Shane too. LOL.

  • hey how much did you get for it when you sold it?

  • still didnt answer my question about how you geared it to match the ford rear end

  • put that ttb back in, ill take it if you dont want it

  • i gotta couple question. (no i wont ask you where you got the axle from)but did u put 35's on the factory rims? those 15" rims should be 15x10.5 right? do you think it would be alright to put 35 or at least 33's on em'? also, i dont think you took the axle out of the back of the jeep right? were u able to swap the 4.56's into the ford 8.8 or did you just get a 4.56 ring and pinion for the ranger rear end?

Was the straight axle swap fairly easy and budget minded or nly for the extreme offroader.

  • BFG makes 33s that will go on stock rims (33x10.5x15/16) u COULD put 35x12.5s or 33.12.5s on a stock rim, but i wouldnt. ur best bet is to get a set of 10 inch deep dish rims or settle for smaller tires, hope this helps!

  • That a dodge d44 up front?

  • No Dana 30 from a Cherokee.

  • at 147-9 what ize tires where you sportin'?

  • with a 8 inch lift, you have to change all the angles and shit, how big of a job was that??

  • oh i didnt see any hubs thats why i asked

  • frig that thing was amazing... great job puttin' that effort in...
