  • Excellent video! My pharmacy does not have the 1cc 27 gauge needles. I called 2 others and they did not have them either. Any ideas what I can do? Thank you so much!

  • @bonedrycarpet

get a local pharmacist (not one of the big chain stores) to order for you.

  • @DrRunels it's a 1 cc syringe that works best (with a leur lock) and a 27gauge 1 1/4 inch needle

  • Thank you Doctor. I will see if any other pharmacies have the 27 gauge needles. Since I am overweight, would you recommend 1.5, or would you still suggest 1.25"? Thank you so much!

  • I'm using a 23 gauge 1.5 inch for Glute injections is 1.5 too long if I'm very lean?

  • yea your forgot to aspirate, before you injected..

  • @MrRoidraging see explanation in earlier comments.

  • read below first.... I could actually feel the added resistance of entering the needle tip into muscle tissue. I wish there was more info on the exact zone where there in no chance of hitting a vessel or nerve. I found my injection site while flexing the thigh muscle, and making sure the location was mid third putter zone. I would not reccommend a solo hip shot, since it hurt like hell trying to aspirat and push one handed.

  • I dam near passed out while looking at the syring in my thigh! on my first I'm shot using a 25gage 1ml Max during. The pharmacy gave me the incorrect injector and my doc was unreachable. I decided to do a half CC into my right thigh as practice and the rest went into my left leg. As the doc states, don't look at the needle until its in already. aspraiting was not possible due to the small bore of the tube: the rubber looked like it was about to pop off. I pushed the needle in so slowly that I .

  • @SoleHarrower

it is true that you will get to where you can feel when it goes from skin into the space between the skin and the muscle and then finally into the muscle. Once you're into the muscle, if you start injecting, it actually seems to make the pain less as you advance a little deeper into the muscle. Small tip---but still--you could just slam the stuff into your body--or you can study little details until you make the process as safe and as comfortable as possible.

  • Why do some people pull back the plunger of the syringe to the desired cc before injecting it to the vial and once the needle is in the vial they push the air in the vial before getting the liquid? Is this necessary? Your video starts with the needle already in the vial. So its hard to tell if you pulled the plunger back before u injected it into the bottle. Thanks.

  • @SubNamoR see earlier comments.

  • So you're a godly type person huh? I found with godly types that they can't understand why I need to have testosterone therapy, and recommended I stop abusing drugs, not that it is a "drug" well not to me, to me it's life! Then I'd try to explain my unique genetics that cause me to require hormone therapy, and they'd understand even less. Some godly types are very naive!

  • @XXY4Life1

Yes, that is unfortunate. One of the nice things you'll notice about the New Testament is that Christ was kind to thieves and prostitutes and was most condemning of the self righteous prigs. But, prigs are not "Godly" and hormone replacement done the proper way is one of the most misunderstood of therapies. There's literally a receptor for testosterone and thyroid and growth hormone on every body tissue--meaning these hormones affect everything from your toe to your brain.

  • I finally did it, I used your method, and it works just fine thanks. It's just so hard to get past that "if I can see what I'm doing my muscle freezes" problem. :) But now I've worked out a way. Thanks for the demonstration.

  • @XXY4Life1 I'm honored you found it useful.

  • I got tested and had a 178 t-level my doc prescribed me 1ml a month. You gave me the confidence to do it.

That and the fact im desperate to get my life back at 49.

Also the more i read the more involved it gets! HCG? ESTROGEN BLOCKER ETC.

    Thanks for the help!!

  • @DrRunels - The small amount of air you pushed our should have remained in the syringe. It pushes all of the medication into the patient without any being left in the hub and needle. It doesn't get in the patient, even if it did, no harm would occur. So, the air in the hub at the beginning will stay in the hub at the end with all of the medication getting into the patient/recipient.

  • Thank you so much!!! I have been driving 45 min each way once every two weeks to go get injections since Feb. of this year because I couldn't do it myself and the local clinic wanted to charge me $40 just to administer the Testosterone cypionate. I tried to last night but couldn't and actually cried because I was so upset with myself. After watching your video, I knocked it out in 2 min and it didn't hurt AT ALL. EASY AS PIE. Now I can do it myself on my time THANK YOU SO SO MUCH!!

  • 6:04 made me squirm...........................

  • Dude your a doctor? You have to work on your sterilizing technique, and if you don't want to push very hard like you did on the injection, slightly heat the syringe(or bottle) with the oil in it. Put it near a desk lamp or something warm for a minute or two or so and it goes in super easy and you don't have to push so hard it feels better going in as well.

  • @recruiting If you heat the testosterone--you are correct it makes in less viscous and easier to inject--but, it also makes it less potent (heat it enough and it's worthless)!!!

  • @recruiting short version--Don't heat your testosterone--makes it not work as well.

  • @recruiting - im pretty sure the amount of force he has to use is due to the smaller gauge needle

  • @ruthven78 That is exactly correct. Using a 1cc tuberculin syringe with a leur lock makes it easier to push through the 27 gauge needle. You can push it with a 3 cc syringe and 27 gauge needle-- but it takes more pressure.

  • is it only me or does he sound like Nicolas cage, also look a bit like him? haha :P

  • Just wanted to say Thank You Dr. Runels I recently was diagnosed with very low testosterone levels & this video has helped explain alot thank you very much! Also is there anything you can recommend that I can ask my doctor that might go well with test enanthate?

  • Dr. Runels,

Are you on amphetamines? You look seriously focused.. LOL.. I have a problem with testosterone, I am 19 years old - and I have not fully developed facial hair. I have started doing sets of pushups, though, I believe this alone is not enough.. What can I do w/o seeing the doctor to improve testosterone production - FAST... Regards, somber solitude.

  • @sombersolitude

see my book "Anytime..for as Long as You Want." You can find it on my website or as a kindle book. It tells natural ways to boost your levels about which most don't know.

  • @sombersolitude

And...I am seriously focused (by practicing what's in my book--LOL)

  • have to say, my first injection was flawless compared to this doctors video lol.

  • Why 27 gauge?

  • Wow, your website you mentioned at the end of the video needs a makeover. Good vid though.

  • @richieh1980 This question answered several times on the forum. thank you for writing.

  • why do most peole inject on top of the muscle, i go from the side of my leg and inject ?

  • will this help me? i am 18, short, scrawney, squeaky, little facial hair and look like im about 15?

  • @AKBeazBoi Help you with what? You are 18 your body is already producing major amounts of testosterone. You should not need to supplement unless you have some major hormonal imbalances. Go to a doctor to have a test done if you are really worried about it. But as a rule of thumb I would say stay away from any type of hormones until your natual levels have dropped. Probably around age 25-30. For now, just Sleep at night, eat and work during the day.

  • P.S. I did aspirate just for the heck of it. And no, niether the Dr., Nurse Practitioner, or even the pharmacist gave me any instructions whatsoever.

  • Dr. Runels, I have never had a problem with needles or getting a shot from a Doctor, however, I was a little apprehensive when my nurse practitioner told me I had to give myself 1cc injections of Testosterone every month. I don't know why, I think it might be a subconcious self-preservation thing. Anyway, I did just as you instructed, & I had to look very close to make sure the needle was still there because I literally DID NOT FEEL A THING!! Thanks for helping to make this TRULY PAINLESS!!

  • Sustonal and trembolone stacked turns u into a god

  • does testosterone injections cause hair loss?

  • where can i get some test

  • Why?...Do I have so much pain from the shot area to the top of my knee for 3 or 4 days after the shot... Thanks

  • Thanks for showing us this. I am in my early to mid 40's and found out that my level is EXTREMELY low. My physician has prescribed JUST the testosterone alone. After my first few injections, I did feel better, however, now I feel about the same as before. I have read that I should also be taking the HCG and another med too. Do you agree? Also, after the last injection I gave myself, I noticed that I am itching close to the site. Is there a reason? It has been a week.

  • @bluezman1969 some use peanut oil, some sesame seed oil. Few are allergic to the testosterone but quite a few who are allergic to the oil. If the redness gets worse, then have the testosterone mixed with a different oil.

Also, be careful to keep all clean--Infection at the site is not common but I've seen it happen.

As for the other hormones to take--that's a more complicated question. Best would be to read the chapter on hormones in my 15 day course at SexEnergyDoctor*com/anytime.htm

  • @DrRunels Thanks again. I really appreciate the information!

  • @bluezman1969 - Your doc gave you just testosterone? You'll definitely need to anti-estrogens too or you'll be growing bitchtits

  • @AbsoluteMonarchist

this is especially true in those on high doses of testosterone or in older men. Older men (over 40--like me) can sometimes drop testosterone and have estrogen levels higher than their menopausal wife--a nightmare--the man loses sex drive and gets fat and raises his risk of prostate cancer (risk goes up with higher estrogen levels). with lower doses of testosterone, the estrogen can be less of a problem. Best, have these tests done: SexEnergyDoctor * com/test

  • @DrRunels - I'm 32 and I've had my tests done a few weeks ago. I've never taken anabolic steroids in my life but my E2 levels are above the 'normal' level for men. This 'normal' level is way too high anyway as mens' E2 has been rising dramatically over the last 50 yrs with some suggesting mass infertility in the male population if trend continues. No endo will treat me and they all think I'm some sort of want to be bodybuilder trying to get roids from them(my testosterone levels are fine).

  • @bluezman1969 you should take the testosterone, hcg and an estrogen blocker like letrozole (low dose) to prevent the testosterone from converting into estrogen. Your doctor should have done more in depth tests to see why your testosterone is so low and see if you have primary (testicle problems) or secondary (hypothalamus/pituitary problems) checking for lh and fsh levels. Furthermore you should get your thyroid checked and prolactin and estrogen levels checked.

  • @bluezman1969, You NEED to take ARIMIDEX, your Doc is a dope..

  • I noticed you used your right leg. Is it just as safe to inject in the same area on the left leg?

  • @0megaM00 yes. either leg and the buttocks are all good but if you're right handed then your right leg will probably be easier. if you use the left leg, then of course you stil go on the outside--the site away from the penis.

  • Would testosterone Ethanate be taken the same way? And what steps would be needed to get the controlled substance legally? I know I would have to go through a doctor, but would telling him I wanted the athletic performance benefits be enough to get prescribed to?

  • @Viciouslifter

in the USA, if a physician writes a prescription for testosterone and calls it for athletic performance, he's luckhy if he just loses his license to practice medicine--he could go to jail.

even though research shows that in the same way that testosterone builds strength in the young, it can help the elderly recover from stroke or prevent falls--even with that--if the physician writes a prescription for testosterone for strength in the elderly--he's done.

  • @Viciouslifter the answer is to document low levels. problem is that there's no agreement about what's low. ranges are determined by the old bell curve (like when they graded tests in school). yes, it's normal to have C's and some A's but who wants to be the C. If you take someone from low normal to high normal-- even that is frowned upon by the American Board of Endocrinology--the most anal group of doctors (on the average bell curve) in the world.

  • @Viciouslifter much much more about this and how to pull it all off on my website (SexEnergyDoctor*com)

  • thumbs up if you watched this video to know how to pin your gear

  • narco Man)

  • @DrRunels a 1cc tuberculin syringe has a better hydrolic efficiency than a 3 cc syringe making it easier to push the thick medicine through the smaller needle.

  • @DrRunels VERY IMPORTANT: This injection is easier to do if you use a tuberculin syringe with a luer lock (must have the luer lock or the pressure will blow off the needle). Your pharmacist may need to order. If they can't find these, go to my website for best source (updated regularly). You'll need to use the large needle (21 to 16 guage) still to draw up then swap to the 27 guage to give the injection (the smallest through which the medicine will pass). smaller numbers mean larger needles.

  • @DrRunels Hey doc, I was just wondering if testosterone injections would work for someone who has testicular damage and cant produce enough testosterone to get erections or have libido. Would this treatment help a male who has testicular problems "get it on" better? I mean, i guess its a stupid question because I guess that's kind of what the injections are for.

  • @DrRunels Doctor, I have talked to a TRT patient who uses an insulin syringe and pushes his T sub-Q. He claims less pain this way and believes the absorption is as good or better than IM. I don't know whether this has been studied, so I'm curious. Do you have any thoughts on this?

  • Hi, can a doctor prescribe test propionate instead of test e or test cypionate. i was just wondering because your taking test cypionate and I didnt know if that was the only one you can get prescribed to

  • @swishassweets you are correct, there are other forms that may be used depending upon the needs of the patient and the preferences of the physician.

  • Thanks!! Was a painless injection - 2 hours psyching myself for the first shot and then no pain - thanks again doc!!

  • @Zebbin Glad to hear it. In two weeks you will feel like a new person.

  • @DrRunels 1 week tomorrow and already am feeling a lot better!

  • Thnks Doc.. Nice Advise, on next week il start useng Androgel. ;-)

  • Aren't you supposed to pull up the plunger to see if there is blood in the syringe? If there is blood, you hit a blood vessel and stop right away and start over in a new injection location?

  • @newtattoo1 good question.I gave a detailed answer below. Thank you for writing.

  • This guy does a good job on this video...its not just fill the thing, jab and juice..thats why juicers fail when it comes to injecting and end up in the hosipital.

  • FAIL......i´d see when you retire the syringe with all the T....busted..

  • Comment removed

  • @JoeTorrisi right

  • @hoppercap actually 5 to 10% prefer no willie at all (they'd rather skip just hang with the girls).

  • Which is better... The T-shot? Or Androgel? I want a quick result. Which you prefer?????

  • @mar7dong T-Shot hands down. I know what the drug reps claim-daily peak and trough with the gel--it's bull (for most). Most feel better with the shot. The gels and creams are good (if used the right way) to make your pencil grow (see my website for more instructions).

  • also, is there a best time of day to do the injection? Thank you for the video!

  • @philippis doesn't matter.

  • is there any difference in absorption rate between the quad and glute for testosterone? Is either one slightly better?

  • @philippis I don't think there's a difference. rotate them around if you can reach around or have help.

  • DR Phil?

  • @MOLLYMAD :) nope Dr. Charles

  • i saw this guy on dancing with the stars the other night!!

  • You did a great job on Dancing With the Stars last night

  • Great advice and excellent demonstration, doc. Thanks!

  • hi, do you not have to aspirate?

  • @stew666999 good question. the stream has gotten long but check on earlier posts for the answer.

  • Is the 27 gauge needle effective if your Test Cyp is 250mg/ml?

  • @Apoocarm yes.

  • Usually a doctor explains everything when giving this kind of medicine

  • @Nelieciamasis you would think.

  • Dr Runels

    2 questions

how do you know if you are in the muscle vs before or past it ?

what it the best way to bring it up to your dr im a 55 yo man

  • I'm about to start Testosterone injections but couldn't force myself to watch this because the douchebag goes on and on and takes forever, EDIT THIS SHIT, it should only take a minute tio describe, get rid of the bullshit. Some people just like to hear themselves talk.

  • @TheJomogogo different people have different questions. I answered most of the questions that I usually get. If I answered them all it would be a 3 hour movie---if you doubt that look at all the questions posted here. :)

  • is this Kenny G?

  • @zrx7769

    :)

I hear Kenny G and Michael Bolton. It's a compliment. The closest I've been to Kenny G is his Christmas album--which is Amazing.

    Peace

  • @DrRunels I'm just bustin your balls man. I hope you didnt take offense. lol

  • Hello Mr Runels um do you have anything to ad-about T being converted to estrigen? and what suppliment i can get to ballance this out. thanx abg

  • @aabel1318 get someone to give you a prescription for arimidex and take it twice a week (will probably help save your prostate too)

  • WHat would be the smallest needle you would use for more like 250-500mg of test?

  • if you are a physician, are you legally allowed to prescribe and diagnose yourself?

  • I currently take 1ml every 2 weeks and my free testosterone level is only 16. Do you have any idea why it might be that low and if I should take more. My Doctor can't seem to figure out why it is so low and does not want me to take much more than I am taking. Any help would be great as I feel like crap, I am gaining tons of weight and my sex drive is in the toilet.

  • @12345usbeavis

yout doctor is a scared idiot, he will gladly prescribe narcotics like its m&m's but is scared to prescribe evil "steroids"....get another doctor..your doc is not giving you enough, because the little you got shut down your natural production and the little you get is not engouh

  • @911Muscles

What would you say is a decent dose for me to take, my doctor is comfortable letting me try different doses until I find what works for me. I was thinking 2ml every 2 weeks.

  • Dr.Runels, thank you very much for this informative video. I gave my husband his third Testosterone shot at home yesterday thanx to you and it went off without a hitch.

We are both veterans and got tired of driving from so.w. Mo to Fayetteville, Ar for his shot.

Thanx to you we don't have to drive 200 miles unless either of us gets sick.

  • thank you Doc, how can i get rid of the little air bubbles in the syringe?

  • Dr Runnels, great instructional video thank you for the "help to" video. I have completed a few injections but the last injection; I believe, I placed the injection too much towards the back of the thigh (closer to hip side) and the area is sore (two days since injection) and is redish in appearence. Can this be because I didn't quite inject the "idea" area?

  • If you were to get your stuff online that was shipped over from an east European country, how would you tell that the stuff you get is good?

  • @sunvoltage If its from turkey it;s probably good.

  • What about "aspirating" the syringe. I didn't see you pull back to make sure there wasn't any blood. I heard that testosterone injected directly into a vein could kill you?

  • see several comments below. Thank you for your comment.

  • Thanks. I should had read more about it. I've been perscribed 200mg cypionate every 10 days. I'm 5' 7" and weigh 190 (about 25# of extra fat). My doctor isn't a specialist like you. My testosterone level was 260 after 2 months of androgel 10mg (2 packages per day). Before treatment it was about 210... Do you feel she is on the right path. I'll be getting another test this week. Not sure what level is optimum but think that 300 would still be kinda low... Thank you!

  • @SeattleEye I was wondering about that too--I have always been instructed to pull back on the plunger in order to make sure I'm not in a vessel. Doctor, if you feel this is unnecessary could you please explain for us? Thanks!

  • @SeattleEye You are correct about the pulling back on the syringe. It's been asked a few times before. Pull back if you want...you sure won't hurt anything by doing so. I tell in previous comments why I do not (I didn't forget :) there's a reason)

Thank you very much for writing.

    Charles

  • @SeattleEye like he said in the video, there are no big veins you could inject it to at that area of your thights

  • @SeattleEye .5-1cc of oil in a vein is not going to kill you...you may cough and feel short of breath for a few minutes but there won't be lasting harm. The worst effect is that you'll have wasted your dose (not the end of the world) because your system will excrete it within hours.

It's still a good idea to aspirate IMO, just to be safe, but I have yet to get a flash (blood in the hub that indicates you're in a vessel.)

  • @hibob841 Thanks! It's good to know it's not going to kill you and I'm glad that you always aspirate, but I'll tell you that if I gave myself an injection and I started coughing and became short of breath, I'd be calling 911. Perhaps I'm a hypochondriac... but just reading that made me feel ill, kinda like watching a movie where someone is trapped under water. BTW I've never had blood in my syringe yet either after about 1 1/2 years so far.

  • Whats the half-life of testosterone cypionate?

  • Hey Doc, I'm only 25 and I have been havin a hard time gettin it up lately..Is that normal for such a young age and would testosterone help with this?

  • @danesters It's never normal at ANY age to have erection problems. There are reasons for testosterone levels to go low in a young man (mumps, marijuana, opiods, head trauma--to name a few). But it's not just testosterone that matters. Estrogen, thyroid, growth hormone and others are important. More on my ste at sexenergydoctor*com or find my free podcasts as the sex energy doctor on iTunes.

Wish the answer were more simple.

    Thank you for writing.

  • @danesters Get your T checked. I'm the same age as you and mine was 302ng/dl; I had the hormones of a 70-year-old. Ideal for most men is 600-1000. I feel a night-and-day difference since I started TRT! Sexual drive and function are way improved along with mood, energy, motivation...it's awesome stuff. You could have other issues, but start by getting your hormones checked.

  • is it normal to have sharp pain in your lower back and in the knee after injecting this area?

the pain went away in a couple of hours, but still wondering if its normal?

    thank you

  • not normal. Probably no permanent damage. sometimes the pain is referred up or down the leg by stimulating the nerve. Try not going as deep and maybe have your doctor watch you next time.

  • that helps a lot because i do think i went to deep

i'm a lean guy and i just went till the end of the needle

is it possible the injection is now not effective because of the depth?

  • nope. should work just fine.

  • What if you hit your bone? That is what scares me the most, is it likely to hit a bone at this injection site?

  • No. Very unlikely. Just go through the skin and into the muscle (you can feel the change in density by how hard your pushing the needle and the change in the way it feels (you will feel when you enter the muscle). Then just go another 1/2 inch or so and you'll be fine.

This makes it sound complicated but when you do it, it's really not.

  • Doc,

I have just been prescribed this and am having a hard time doing the "injecting the air step into the vial to make a vacuum". I cannot get the liquid into the vial at all. Can you help???

  • I'm sorry. Not sure what you're asking. Could you rephrase your question?

  • so, when i put the needle as slow as possible in to the skin and in to the muscle there will be no pain?is it so?

  • not so important how fast or slow you go. fast may actually be better. the important part is that you use a very sharp very thin needle.

  • is it possible that manny pacquiao (boxer) can take testosterone injections to enhance his performance? is it detectable after a fight?

  • To 689321546: All sites that give instructions on how to give a shot instructs people to pull back on the plunger to make sure blood doesn't show up in the testosterone. Even my doctor and pharmacist instructed me to do so. This is to make sure that you have not hit a blood vessel.

  • you are right they do. if you want to pull back...go right ahead. I've given reasons why I do not in the questions below.

  • Thank you for the post. I am deathly afraid of needles. But with the help of my wife and this video I was able to give myself a shot.

  • thank you for writing. I'm glad it helped.

  • Another thing do I have to inject the needle 22 ga/ 23 ga all the way inside my thigh? Im lean, 5'6 height

  • If you are in the muscle, then you're in far enough. Sometimes, it's almost like it's intra-bone injection when people go so deep with a thin person.

With many lean people, with a 1 1/4 inch needle, only 1/2 to 3/4 of the needle puts them in far enough.

  • How much dose would u recommend for Deca 250mg/ml Nandrolone Decanoate? Im 140 lbs

And is it OK to use the needle I used to get the liquid from the vial when injecting on my thigh?

  • it's ok to use the same needle. most nurses and doctor's do. but when you go through the needle with that large needle, then you have a large dull needle you will put in your leg. If you don't mind the pain, then no big deal. But a thin sharp needle hurts much less

  • Is testosterone enanthate thicker than testosterone cypionate?

  • No. the mixing oil determines the thickness.

  • he's a dr. and he should know better to draw back on the plunger to make sure he's not in a vein

  • this was addressed in a previous comment. I appreciate your concern. Good eye. But read previous comments to hear my answer to this one.

  • I use a 22G 1 1/2 inch needle for my shots and experience no pain during or after the shot. Is it advisable to alternate legs everytime?

  • Not necessary, but it does give the leg longer to recover.

  • why do you need a bigger guage to get the test out of the bottle?

  • the medicine is a thick oil. the principles of physics make it easier to push out of the syringe (small needle) than to pull into the syringe (need large bore needle).

  • This is a great video. I am all for painless needless. Thanks, I'm gonna save this for later usage

  • I was confused with the anatomy orientation a little bit. You were injecting medial thigh...closer to the groin, vs the outside thigh as you were saying?

  • Nope...

I'm injecting on the lateral thigh (the outside/the side not close to your penis).

Don't know how to say it more plainly.

    Hope this helps.

  • @nubretfan1975

The leg he was using in the video was his right leg, I believe...I thought it was his left, too. That's probably what was confusing.

  • im injecting im, and sometimes i feel like i hit a nerve, do you think im going to have nerve damage now? like it usualy feels ok injecting but sometimes it kills!

  • not likely if you're injecting where I show you (just not any major nerves there). Get your doctor to watch you do the next injection to be sure you're where I'm showing you.

  • many thanks DR RUNELS

  • Doc

You mentioned that this medicine is a controlled 'narcotic'... I think you mis-stated; it doesn't belong to the class of drugs called 'narcotics' like opiates and the like... I think the point you were trying to make was it is a controlled substance and illegal to own without prescription.

  • You are correct (see comment thread below).

    Charles Runels, Md

  • Excellent video. Thanks for taking the time and doing this. You educated many people on what it means to give a safe IM injection.

  • thank you for taking time to write. I'm very glad you found the video helpful.

  • This may sound silly, but can the vial be used again or does it need to be washed?

  • most vials come with 10ml. You get a new vial when it runs out of medicine.

  • Thanks doc, But how can a guy get Nolvadex or Clomid to use a month after your injections? We don't want gynocomastia and other side affects.

  • if you can get the steroids then you shouldnt have much of a problem getting the anti estrogens lol

  • I am getting a prescription for testosterone therapy. I am curious as to how the process would be if I wanted to get some femara along with the testosterone shots?
