Whoever believes in this shit or russian military propaganda bullshit is a fucking asshole. The tactics described in this video are good against: 1) nation without missile based AAA, 2) nation without navy\cruise missiles, 3) nation without special forces, 4) nation without airforce. In a conflict USA\Russia\China\Japan\EU\GB vs USA\Russia\China\Japan\EU\GB every air\maritime assault is a suicide. So we are down with a scenario: USA\Russia\China\Japan\EU\GB vs. Shithole with amateur fanatics.
Very expensive and advances in high-tech weaponry? So how come we can't win a war against a bunch of rag heads in Afghanistan/Pakistan? Come on, it would only take one nuke to win.
@LichGeneral I don't know about that. I personally would rather parachute in than have to storm a defended beach. Think of Normandy landings vs the airborne the days earlier. I would bet amphibious has the higher casualty rate.
Actually all of the major airbourne operations during WW2 failed.
for example in crete I think every third of five German paratroopers died.
And in one of the allied airbourne operations the paratroopers landed ontop of a panzer division.
I think in modern days a major airbourne assault would be suicide considering the interception systems we have (and to supply the paras would be another nightmare).
@OlderG0ds it happed about at the same time Airbourne came in under cover of darkness on june the 6th '44 and the landing happened at the break of dawn
@Ag3nt0fCha0s yes the original Hawker-Siddeley Harrier is pure British.
AV-8B and BAE Harrier II are a improved design it's up a generation and that was mainly led by American company McDonnell Douglas (part of Boeing today) because BAE had dropped out and rejoined later on due to funding issues.
So yes,Harrier is invented by British. But the Harrier II we use today are not the same ones. And I see no point in arguing over who made what, in the end we came together and made a good jet.
@Ag3nt0fCha0s Ya I agree it's annoying to see that stuff. More so I think is that people refuse to take the aircraft for what it is, no they must look at the country it came from instead and judge it by that. Especially if its from there own country it automatically has to be best...
I don't care if Zimbabwe made the Harrier it's very innovative and has its uses.
Remove or change flags off the planes and people would have very different "opinion" about it.
@Ag3nt0fCha0s The troll was mistaken. The video states the Harrier was developed in Britain. I saw the first Harrier in the U.S. in 1970 or 71 at MCAS Cherry Point. It was stored in the H&Ms-27 hangar. I saw British officers going upstairs to the office section of the hangar. The plane had several decals on it including one for "First Atlantic Crossing", I suppose that meant the first one for a Harrier. They had a demo at MCAS for Marine Corps officials displaying its capabilities. -- USMC

@mickey0667 because of Politics, Politics is what makes many wars take longer or slows them down. cause politics gets touchy feely with everything.

@OlderG0ds
Well I'm glad to hear you don't.
It's distressing to hear another nation claim to have invented your ideas. It's indecent for a start.
We Brits don't claim the genius of the invention of AK47 and the French don't claim to have invented the tank.
Imagine how you'd feel if you were told by some German that they were the first ones to invent atomic weaponry.
It's nice to see some reasonable people who deal in truth on the net.
