im 49 and from leicester, people my age remeber the wallace era, i recall he had the squad running up a fking great sandhill to keep them fit. i used to love the interveiws as a kid, im sure 90 per cent of us hadnt a clue what he said, but the
aura of the man, said he meant whatever it was he said, rip jock.
Was big Jock and his wife made to pay at the gate when they went back to Filbert Street? doubt it. A Rangers legend and they made him pay to get into Ibrox after sacking him. Disgraceful. Broke Big Jock`s heart.
A pal of mine who supports Leicester said a lot of the Jocks from Corby (former steel town) would go along to Filbert st to support Jock Wallace's side.
Some Bears I know went to Leicester when JW was manager. He actually came to their hotel and brought a huge carry out. They all got pished and sang the songs they try to ban now. Great character and great Scot.
Jock Wallace a true Rangers fan, a true protestant man:) The training ground should have been named after Jock Wallace not David 'Liar' Murray, we must get rid of Murray,Bain etc, if we are to bring back the glory, we need new investment.
Jock wallace was a legend at leicester and they have named a ba after him at the walkers stadium. He bought some great young scottish players to leicester like alan young jimmy melrose and gary mc allister
he was my grandad and he died wen i was 4 years old.... neva really knew him and wish he was still here because id probs be playin for man united by the sounds of his managing.
Jock was my fathers hero. We were lucky enough to meet him in Fuengerolia in spain. Ask your Gran Daphne about Tommy Strachan from Rothesay. We could tell you some stories about jock. One of the greatest periods in my life was knowing him. im so proud to have known him. Im sure your gran still has my dads address in Rothesay.
As a Celtic fan I salute big Jock. He was a great manager for the Gers. Rangers treated him poorly when Souness arrived but every fan knows that Jock was like them. A true Ger and a true great. RIP big man.
