  • The dude needs a better wig!!

  • AAGH!! Comic Sans!!

  • Perfect!

  • Brawo Filipie:) jesteś cudowny

  • Splendid Oper und Philippe als Schauspieler zu bemerkenswerten

  • amazing, just perfect!!!!

  • Does he EVER sing anything that is short of perfect? a wrong note, a smudge in intonation? Have never heard one in him!!!

  • N.E.V.E.R. !!!!!!!

The only singer of nowadays worthy to be called Il Primo Uomo

  • amazing

  • He´s also a very good actor!!

  • I think PJ is such a great artist!

  • Agrippina will help Nero to ascend the throne, just like he sings.

But later he'll become tired of her and will decide to kill her - and she knows it already, look at her crystal tears upon her cheek - and when the murderer will come to finish her she'll say "Stab me in my womb that gave birth to Nero" - the womb he now kisses and blesses.

    Astonishing performance.

thanks for posting this, people deserve to see and hear it.

  • what are you talking about?

    nero never kill his mom(agrippina).

anyway this is best version i agree.

  • Read some history when you have time, and you will know that he gave orders to kill her - fisrt of all her ship was drowned but she survived, and then Nero sent soldiers to kill her, and when Agrippina saw her murderer with the sword she told him: stab me in the womb (because her womb gave birth to Nero).

Of course it is not shown in the opera, because the libretto deals with earlier times than these.

  • of course i'm talking about this opera.

everybody knows about nero , agripina ,Claudia Octavia....

    what a wiseacre

  • The best version ever. I adore their acting as much as their superb singing. Just look at their looks and gestures and the deep intense of feeling and knowing of tha dark and bloody background of this operatic story.

  • Btw do u think he could ever get cast as Cherubino?

  • we can only hope so. he sure have the range, the talent, and the age range (in terms of appearance in any case) would match the character. Not to mention he's a guy, as the characted is, of course. The question is more about his style of singing maybe producers will get cold feet.

  • I hate counter tenors with a passion, but wow....his voice is stunning. almost reminds me of berganza actually.

  • Me too.

Interestingly Philippe, though officially billed as a counter-tenor, many sopranist and castrati enthusiast consider him a sopranist..his voice sounds like sopranist..he does not sound like a counter tenor at all.

  • "COL saggio...", no "Con saggio"

  • Fantastico! :D

  • bravi!

  • Lets hear a Zadok-the-priest style salute for BaroqueFever!!! Keep the good vids coming :)

  • Thank you, I'll see if I can post a Christmas present for you :-)

    Merry Christmas everybody!

  • He has the most stunning voice of all the current countertenors around. It's even, wide-ranging, and unique. I heard him in theatre in NYC, and he had no problem filling the house. Oh, and his coloratura and breath control is superb. If I may quip, this aria is sung transposed down a whole step to g minor, at A=415 at that! Methinks that was unnecessary.

  • Wspaniałe wykonanie. Te głosy to perły całego wykonania.

  • ONE GOD, ONE JAROUSSKY!!!!!

Thank You very much for this enjoyment!!!

  • Cute comment! One thing's for sure, he's one of the best countertenors today!BRAVO! for managing to make wonderful music and sell it!

  • So beautiful ... Thank you for posting ;-)

  • You're welcome :-)

I'll soon upload the rest of the arias sung by Jaroussky in Agrippina...

  • Oh, please do, please do:) we can't wait fo more! This one is really beautiful...
