why? because if your screen gets all smudgy with fingerprints, you have a keyboard. if the screen responds slowly when you touch it, you have a keyboard. YOU fail, therefore, this is an invalid reason for controversy.

i think the keyboard is way too small, instead of sliding out of the bottom, they should slide it out of the side

Personally, I prefer to type emails and search for things vertically, so I don't like horizontal keyboards. I also like the size of the smaller keyboard since it means less distance for my fingers to travel between letters. People with larger fingers or poor eyesight could have trouble with the Palm Pre though.

I know many folks would say the bigger the better. Of course I like a full size keyboard for my PC, where I can place all my fingers in starting position as we learned in typing classes, and type properly. But on a phone I can't type like that anyway. I just type with my two thumbs, which I do faster when the buttons are a little closer together. The keys on the Palm Pre look pretty much like my Treo, which is exactly how I want them.

The Touchstone tech is pretty cool. But what benefit is there to having it on a phone? It charges slower. I don't have WiFi so I would still have to connect the USB. Is there a size limit to Bluetooth? No music transfer on my Instinct. Great on wet toothbrush, but on a phone?

Well, they are really going for looks as they mention several times. A dock would require connectors and there are non visible here. This design eleminates those and to watch the screen in landscape and charge at the same time would require yet another hole on the side I guess.

Yes, it has open source apps that will be easier for most programmers to create since the OS is based on standard programming languages like CSS, HTML, and Javascript. If you can build websites, you can learn to make Apps for Web OS. Personally, I'm excited to be able to make Apps for my own phone just for fun. I already bought the 500 page manual.

They say the web browsing is almost identical to the iPhone and Google Android. They are all built on WebKit.

no it is the "business man's" iphone. Iphone is huge and clunky this unit looks smaller and more sleek. Plus the full qwerty keyboard makes it awsome for quick data entry like schedules and texts.
