I've always felt sorry for the way Finland was manipulated and forced to be part of the Axis. They had fought so hard and bravely against the Soviets that they naturally sided with Germany when Germans were crushing the hated Soviets. Finland got screwed twice! First they were crushed by the inept Soviets and secondly they were forced into suffering defeat while sided with the Axis powers. I'm certain that Finland would have just as soon avoided the entire war and allowed neutrality..
Not entirely true. Finalnd's fight against the Soviets was another than the German one and that became apparent at the siege of Leningrad in which the Fins did refuse to fully cooperate. That was noticed by the Soviets and saved Finland's independence as a democratic 'western' state. So to state they were part of the Axis is not true.

Finland wasn't never crushed by soviets. When war ended finnish army was stronger and more better equipped than it had been before. Our army was still in fighting condition when war ended.
@Wachetpower Its easy to say that, Soviets would of done it faster but that fucking Mannerheim Line the Finna made was one hell of a fortafied spot. Soviets did take it but, dam it took along time.
In hindsight it seems Churchill was the only one in Great Brittan who could see the world as it actually was. Thank god for Churchill.

Supposedly Churchill was booed in Parliament when he called the Munich agreement "a defeat."

the real issue isn't luck or stalin's decisions...
the real issue is that FINLAND IS A FROZEN WASTELAND! It's hard to attack! :)
