Oh, now I know why. Not only is it portrayed very well, but also it reminds me alot of a relationship I once had, though it did not end quite the same. However... the guy in your video is alot hotter than my ex :D You portrayed the memories great, nice and short. And I'm glad he didn't kill himself. It's a decent idea, but with only 4 minutes to tell a story you need to hit your first plot point within a minute or you start to lose your audiences attention. Putting something more obviously violent and brutal within the first minute may have framed this better. Good idea though. No offense to your friend Ashely, but you needed more soft fill in your outdoor shots, because the actors expressions were important.

Okay about the lighting, first off I would like to say that youtube makes everything much much darker. The real video is not this dark. Such as the moon scenes, there is a tree branch in the corner and you can barly see it on here. Also, Ashley doesn't know anything about lighting, she just did what I told her to.

I will admit the lighting is not one of my strongest points. For some reason I didn't even think about fill light. I was really worried about the lighting. But trust me when I say this, you can see their expressions on the real video.

Also, thinking about it, I kind of like them being a in shadow a little. It makes it a little less pleasing to the eye and a bit more edgy, which is what I wanted. I didn't really want too much to look pleasing. But a fill probably wouldn't hurt if I did it right. Well like I said, this was a learning experince. Thanks for the comment! Very nice!

It's a strong video with a relatable story line and nice direction, but I would have enjoyed it more without the explanation. I can understand thanking anyone involved, a brief synopsis, and inspiration behind it, but going into how you think a video should be done is irrelevant. Also, leave out the analysis of the video. Art can have a million different subtle meanings and it's more beneficial to the audience if you give them the chance to speculate as they like. 3/5

Another thing that bothered me was that the video wasn't edited to match the music very well, this is a big minus to me. I think the idea was good but couldve been executed better, honestly a little boring.

meatball - When you were shooting the moon, did you find that you could either see the texture of the moon, or the clouds, but not both together? I notice this happens with a lot of people (me included) and was wondering if others see it as a problem; I want to know if there's a simple solution.

bubba-that has to do with the feild of resolution. resolution is the ability to distinguish between to different objects. you cant have two things in focus that are far apart.

Oh man - If you mean field of depth, that makes total sense and I never knew why that didn't occur to me --- I guess I never thought about the clouds and the moon being thousands of miles apart, and instead thought of them both as far off images. So, no way around without a lens suited for it. In the past, I've always just doubled up my images - one focused on the moon, one on the clouds, then overlayed them -- check out my video Miami Vice Parody -- 33 minutes in...
