  • no bruce , no runrig , no argument. i for one am glad they found him.great frontman. stop all the greetin.without bruce, runrig would have finished in 1997.never wpuld have had the stamping ground or other classics

  • runrig at there best. fab songs. what more do you want?

  • Runrig isnt Runrig without Donnie, (sorry) thats only my opinion.

COME BACK DONNIE<<<<<WE or should I say, I MISS you, and your beautiful, haunting voice.

    Please come back

    32 concerts, and haven't been to 1 since you left : (

  • lets all vote and ask for donnie back as lead vocal runrig is just not the same brilliant sound it used to have

  • Happy Days................................

  • Bring back Donny, & lets get Scotland up and running again.

  • Runrig laugh in the face of rock n roll: "Better get these shoes polished before the show!". 'S math rinn iad gu dearbh!

  • Donnie's voice is terrible compared to Bruce. Seriously!

  • Runrig are the best from Scotland and remeber Donnie left the band and without Bruce we will have NO RUNRIG they are great singer and Runrig are alive I have followed the the band as long as I can remember.

    Regards fram Denmark

  • I hear what Callum and Rory are saying but I am so glad so many Scots came over to the United States through the centuries. problem is, we don't have enough! Especially here in the "highlands" in Colorado :):):) Many of us are decendants of Scots and I will tell ya, We are so Proud of that!

  • Not the same without Donnie

  • class.....

  • i wish the studio version was as energetic as this one...

  • My sister was at this gig & said the atmosphere was absolutely electric. She went to see them quite a few times. Unfortunately I never got the chance to see them live but love their music especially the old stuff. Singing here of course about the highland clearances, when families were burned out of their homes because the landowners wanted the land back for their own purpose & leaving the crofters with nothing. You don't hear us harping on about it though, unlike some who can't let the past lie

  • @LaFarfalla246 yep tarriers canny let it go the fenian cunts

  • Hate to say it guys he left, its not like he was kicked out and if it wasn't for Bruce there would be no Runrig, as Rory says in another video. I love new and old Runrig. We have to live with it just love the song for what it is.

  • @Rachellelawley

    Lol

I was itching to type exactly this for ages and now just read it and thought "Well, seems like I did post it, only I can't remember doing it".

I think both of them have their different strenghths and give the songs their own touch.

But you know how people are: the future was better when I was young ;)

  • @giliellthesecond lol exactly! i've grown up with Runrig, im 24 and we started to listen to them when i was about 3? so i really have grown up with both of them! love em both always will! Yes Donnie is brilliant but so is Bruce in his way and we still have the guys! next people will complain that we have Brian instead of Ian. Who could deny Brian's angelic voice :D

  • simply the best ever

  • they never play dance called america anymore its a disgrace!

  • I wish Donnie would come back! I love the combination of these 2 songs but especially " A Dance called America " !!

  • Memories!!!!

  • Best band ever .. Bring back Donnie Munro :)

  • was for the ep also was on gmtv and totps

  • was for the ep also was on gmtv and totps

  • i was there for the filming

  • you'll never beat donnie i was at this x

  • man, everything in this video looks so old, and time passes so quickly, dig the guys and love the music

  • I was in that concert ..ghave to me noce memories ..GREAT BAND ...

  • As Much as i loved Donnie, Bruce has kept Runrig going, im not going to compare then because i love them both equally and i have grown up with them both in my heart.

    Runrig forever!

besides you never hear anyone complaining about other band members leaving and being replaced.

  • Much enjoyed! It looks like a fun concert!

  • he's not trying to take his place moron! he gave runrig the shake up it needed at the time (bruce that is ) you can't compare the two.

  • Runrig was a fantastic band with Donnie and still is...with bruce :-)

  • I agree with millsyrover. Donnie was the voice of runrig. Bruce will never take Donnies place as far as I am concerned

  • Donnie was a big singer, and Bruce too. Nobody wants to replace Donnie´s memory. Bruce is just doing his own career.

  • there is only one person who can be the singer of runrig, and that is donnie munro his voice is amazing and he is mr runrig, all though rory and calum write all the songs, please come back donnie alba forever

  • Rory & Calum write brilliant songs. But you Can not beat when Rory and Donnie sing together. Much better than the guy that sings with runrig now.

  • Donnie is undoubtably awesome

but you cannot compare Donnie and Bruce.

They are different style, both amazing musicians, both brilliant frontmen, both Runrig to the soul!

  • His name is Bruce and with out him there would be no Runrig now,

As to you point about Donnie yes he was brillant, but he is not here now.Have you being to a show with Bruce?

He is a class act and i for one thank him for keeping the sprit of Runrig going.

  • I wish Donnie would come back to Runrig. His voice is brilliant.

  • at scone on sat cannot wait will be great

  • saw them at the Magnum, in Irvine. a few times, brilliant night. Donnie was the best.

  • welsh people can relate to these guys too..joio :)

  • Glad to be scottish

  • Im truely priveledged to be in a family that where once scottish!!

My mothers and father side originally where from scotland though I am english!

  • a visit to glen calvie church is amust to understand what happened

  • God bless runrig !

  • Ah men!

  • great music,it,s time for a canadian tour.Which must include the real canada bc.

  • I love the shot of the fans running, its actually on the cover of the 'city of lights' DVD

  • Absolutely brilliant, so wish I had been there.

  • i was at barrowlands in I think it was 2004 or 2004 I think it was, best place in the world to see runrig by far, there's obviously some really good other places to see them like Tonder festival so I've been told, but Barrowlands is like going back to their closest starting point the Glasgow Kelvin hall was where they had their first ever gig for this association blair douglas's mum was holding an event for or something.

  • Runrig at thier best, happy days

  • i agree barrowland is brilliant atmosphere miss donnie as he was my pinup ..lol

  • Has to be the best place ever to see runrig I met sooo many riggies my own age was the best experience of my life back when I saw them post 2000 was the best time ever and I truely mean that, been many a one ive loved but that outstands them all!!

  • 2:50

  • I am going to see them again tonight! I don't think I've seen anyone bolt into the barrowlands like that before :P

Bruce would be sooo good at this. Having said this, I've grown up with Runrig (I'm 20) and I just love it all :)

    x

  • Im pretty much the same. From the womb to now, my dad blasts it out at top volume. My mum's name was officially on one of the DVD's too, I think they asked for people's names that were singing in the audience, and her's got on there :D

Just reminds me of old times in Scotland (I live in England now). But whenever we go back and pretty much every time we get in the car, put this on, great stuff.

  • Never seen them doing this version live...was always the slower, lesser rocky version....would love to hear Bruce doing this version....thin it waould be amazing!!!!

  • love this song and love the band old and new

  • First concert I saw was at Troon during the Transmitting tour, and haven't missed a tour since - simply brilliant!

  • 2 of my favourites in one video. great band. not seen them since Donnie left.

  • Comment removed

  • Time you went to see them again Ray, get yourself up to Scone, I cant wait, its gonna be fantastic.

  • brilliant video. thanks.

  • Man look at those fans, ther goin mental.

  • looks braw

  • runrig all the way

  • Brilliant performance as always,Runrig rule

  • COME ON EDINBURGH, CAN'T WAIT

  • It's OK to be Scottish and British and European in my opinion.

Seperatists don't live in the the modern world.

We all as people have to stick together , regardless of race, religion, colour.

Ask Rabbie Burns -"a man's a man for a' that"

No more killing would be the point!

  • We are happy being scottish. when there is sporting events on the tv if there is someone from scotland who wins a medal they are classed as british but if an english person wins we get to know what town he is from in england and he is classed as english. A total lot of bollocks

  • That is an incredible generalisation!! How many times have we heard from "English" commentators were Andy Murray Is from.

  • It's a bit like Sherpa Tenzing, who was either the first or the second person to climb Choluamonga (or Mt. Everest). He was Tibetian. Generally it seems the Chinese government don't like the Tibetians, but when he got quite a lot of the publicity, the Chinese claimed him as 'theirs'.

  • qgcboss01 - that statement of yours is nothing more than a commonly-repeated myth that has become accepted as fact by virtue of repetition. But it just isn't true.

We Scots need to drop the self-pity - it doesn't do us any favours.

  • Scotland rocks!! And we're as independant as we need to be so get over yourselves and enjoy our best music!

  • Hey, their talking about GLASGOW

  • Model for clearances was Linconshire. Clearances were Class action.

1066 brought the Aristocracy here, deposing Saxon Kings& enclosed robbed common land, turning people to debentured slaves for centuries, until the Black death.

People were often brutal & you cannot blame actions of past for the present. But now, Scotland's no longer under the Yoke and is doing pretty wellI love the place, but I'm English (With a border brigand past). We should understand each other

  • well said! I am English too I was born in Manchester but I have ancestors who are Scottish and were part of the Taylor Clan.

Though I am totally behind what you say "what happen in the past has passed and try not ot let it influence you actions for today"

  • Donnie's demi-mullet is awesome.

  • God bless runrig

  • I was there the night this recording was done.

Remember like it was the day.

  • ...so was I ... do you mind the big strip the willow we did at the end to Loch Lommand?!

  • A fantastoc song long live SCOTLAND

  • Before anyone cries crocodile tears over the original 17th 18th century clearances. Study the history of the 'Covenanters' who were my ancestors and discover how highland troops took the English kings coin and robbed, assaulted, raped, and murdered people whose only crime was their religion.

What goes around comes around !

  • who gives a fuck about the Covenanters. You make me want to puke. How dare you play down the clearences. Only an english twat like yourself would write something like that

  • You're a fucking hun wank.

  • Well evidently the covenanters?!? to be fair that a good 2 or 300 years ago you cant realy hold a country responsibal for a crime when all those responsibal for it are dead oh and cromwell was pretty nasty to the peoples of england as well just look at his supression of the levelers.

  • My Dads bouncing about somewhere in there!

God Bless Dad! This songs for you.

  • for the survival of our scottish culture when the referendum comes remember to put your tick in the right box, it's SNP and independence for scotland, bring to an end 300 years of rule through the corridors of westminster and the brutal aristocracy that forced our fore fathers from their land .

  • to be fair the SNP are realy stuffed coz the only resaon why they got ellected was to make scotland independant and none not one of the other partys is willing to support them and since they cant achieve anything without an allience with sombody it aint going to happen which is probably just as well scotich independce would be economic suicide!

  • try telling the to the irish. Infact union has been holding us back plz check your facts.

  • yeah Irland has resorces, and an econamy Scotland used to have oil and gas you dont any more or atleast you dont have alot left. if you'd become independednt 50 years ago it might have worked out unfortunatly it aint. tell me where are you gonna fund the NHS or the education system the UK's mouney comes from London and the stock exchange these days.

  • scotland has the 5th largest finance sector in europe for a start. We also have the biggest supply of renewable resources in the world.

Plus with the power to set a low corporation (like the irish) and one of the most skilled work forces in the wrold i don't think we are going to be 3rd world nation any time soon.

We will be better off independent what has iceland got fish and there best country in the world to live in.

  • Yeah but hardly anybody lives in Iceland they're more like Norway in that they have vertualy nobody to spread their resorces round so everbody who lives their is fairly wealthy. Also if we are honest what would an independent scotland actualy do thats differnt to one thats with the UK if I was in charge I'd scrap the devolved parlaments in that all it dose is make jobs for even more politicians which lets face it jsut wastes resorces :p

  • Well that brings me to main point of indpendence is that we would have more money to spend on ppl so we will have a social democracy. Like most small european nations i rather have that than more westminster bureaucracy that has done nothing much but in the last 50 years.

Apart from ruining every public services and stealing our resources.

  • Oh yeah but that wasn't picking on scotland they did that to England too XD the thing is politicians dont become any better just coz they're scotish Gordon Browns a scot and he's still just as much of a berk as Tony and the rest. if you ask me cut your loses and vote OMRLP :p

  • OMRLP? I rather vote SNP lol

  • Official monster raving Looney party. Policies include not adopting the euro but inviting Europe to join the pound, abolishing income tax on the grounds that it was introduced to finance the Napoleonic wars but filling in the channel tunnel just in case no ones told the French its over and changing the house of lords to the house of cards. The slogan: Putting the party back into party politics...I'd like to see the SNP beat that manifesto :p

  • lol yeah ok

  • Did you fannies come on to this site to listen to Runrig or talk politics. Shut to fuck up.

  • Blah. Just listen to the music and whisht!!

  • OK, fair enough.

I should say that I am sorry as I once stole a drink off one of the guys in Runrig when they played Inverness in '95 or '96. I don't know his name, it was the one that looks like Lo Pan from Big Trouble In Little China. Not Donnie Munro.

  • Dance Called America, haha really makes you feel like dancing

  • City of Lights - fabulous song
