  • I'm having a shower done now and the plumber is putting the 4 wall heads about 8 inches apart from side to side. Is this far enough? They are about 17 inclhes from top to bottom, which seems right. My set up has 4 wall heads, 1 rain head and 1 hand help. Please advise ASAP. Work being done tomorrow! Thanks,

  • @SuperJoeitall The short answer is. Is that where you want them? Essentially the setup is completely up to you and there is no right or wrong answer. Shower panels have them that close or closer, some people stack them in-line vertically. If you would like them wider then you should probably express that to your plumber and see if its possible in your shower. If it were me personally I would put them out to around 12"-15", but thats just my opinion.

  • @ImprovementDirect Thanks! Because of the pipes and levers I think I can get them maybe 10" apart, otherwise they would be 16", which I think is too far for me. The problem for me is I've never used a shower like this, so I have no idea. Since I'm not that wide, I don't know why I'd need them very wide, especially since they are external head with a pretty good range of motion. Is it normally best to have them hit you straight on, angled in or angled out? I just don't want to make a mistake.

  • @SuperJoeitall It's completely a preference thing. It sounds as though 10" should be sufficient. I personally like them wide and then angle them in.
