i guess you dont see the signature custom Les Paul insignia on the headstock.

That diamond shaped inlay you see on the head stock is the signature of a custom. it is there on the Epiphone and Gibson both. You can't see it in this vid but on the truss rod cover of mine it says Les Paul Custom om it.

It will depend on the guitar...

While models will sound the same, no guitar ever sounds exactly the same...go to a music shop near you that has Epiphone's in stock; play them and see which you like better...Neck shapes are personal preference, you can't really take someone elses word for how it feels or whatever

generally epis suck and you need to replace the pickups so dont count on the original tone being good unrtil you replace the pickups.

Not true vbdude, unless you buy the cheapest one you can find. I have a custom that my guitar teacher swears he can't tell the difference from his GIbson. And I love mine. Yea the Gibson name on the headstock is nice but not for three times the price. I paid six hun. and am totally happy with mine.

ya can tell the difference between them if you compare the headstock, all gibsons have way more angle on it that epiphones but still any les paul will give you a great sound epiphone to gibson is much better than squire is to fender

Gibson and Epiphone...go search for videos on YouTube about those two. They basically look and sound completely the same, except for the headstoc and brand name.

Honestly, listen to videos comparing those two brands 9there are a few) and listen to the differences. Sure there is a difference, but is it a difference worth $1,700?

Epiphone LP- $500

Gibson LP- $2,200

There is a difference, but absolutely not worth it. Even wood, etc. Also, you can replace stock pickups w/ Burstbuckers or somthing

Epiphone and Gibsons are made in the same factories and use all the same materials. Epiphones are only cheaper cos you're only really paying for the name
