I 've been wondering about drum processing for a while, and I can 't get a pure, clean sound in dnb. Gues it 's about layering samples. Btw what is the skin here?? looks nasty

I done this for the first time and tried it with my Sennheiser HD 650 Headphones and I noticed the remarkable difference. With the percussion, the cowbell , snares , kicks and the rest of the percussion. Without the dry it sounds without either or it creates that static shower noise frequency, without both of them it sounds straight up bland. So now it sounds cleaner and more smooth. if you have fl 10, go to your mixer click on the arrow left of it so the option bar comes down, then hit view ->wave forms also hit the wide tracks for a good look :)

This is a good video, and I watch your videos religiously as well. My only critique to this is how you stop phasing of the 2 drum tracks by using a zeroed effect

With a really nice computer it's not a problem. However, many of your subscribers probably don't have a great computer, and if there is already a lot of real time FX running it could cause problems. You're definitely more experienced than me on FL, but can't you just right click on the track delay and set it to the compressed track?

Great vid ! But I got a problem.. I am using Fl Studio 10.02.... I seem to get a little of clicking at the silence part of the kick. This sucks! I can hear it when i have a standalone kick.. Wich means, that if I ever have a dry kick in my mix, I'm going to have that clicking sound in the end of a kick, right before another kick... I cant figure out why it's clicking... And I have a clean kick sample to start off with (got deep with edison to check if there was anything wrong). Still clicking...

you can do this using maximus alone, I use heavy compression I like the effect

@AeonFlexMusic there's 2 ways to do it with maximus and you get 2 different nyc effects, the 1st 1 u do as u explained above but b4 you do that, google 'ny compression with maximus' n click on the 1st result copy the settings and save as preset in maximus, but with the above mentioned technique it will phase the sounds. In the same channel as the maximus add a phaser inverter to fix it,2nd tech u just route all drums 2 one channel n use same preset but use lmh mix knob in maximus 4 effect

awesome tip about the adding all the same plugins on both tracks to eliminate phase issues!

i'm a pretty advanced FL user and i've stayed away from NY compression for this exact reason because the auto PDC just doesn't cut it in FL 9.1

not too sure about your compressor settings, but hey, if it sounds good -- leave it.

just one question: why not use the Fruity Limiter for it's compressor? it gives you a much more visual idea of what your compressor is doing to your audio.

question...on my master mix i use the 7 band EQ, the Free Filter, and the Fruity Limiter...my goal is strong, crisp drums, clear instruments, and bass that thumps but doesn't distort...do u have any other suggestions that i could add to my mix?
