  • I would have loved to be there.

  • I was lucky to be at this show. It was amazing and something I'll tell my kids about.

  • This was an incredible show! Watching this still gives me goosebumps. Thanks so much for posting!

  • great memories. myself and so many of my friends were here. Buddy Guy and Bad religion opened up. It was purely epic!

  • @Pesto1001 It was Otis Rush, not Buddy Guy. Sorry, this was an important night in my life, and I remember every detail, from playing euchre preshow, to realizing there was no merch...(had to buy my shirt in the parking lot from a bootlegger)

  • @EVILKIMMELSSP . you are right it was Otis Rush. My mistake.

  • @cobra736.. this was my second PJ show ( I was 18) and I agree, no other PJ has measured up :)

  • was there is was awesome

  • My first show . i was floored . to much weed . to much acid and a good time :)

  • Wow does this bring back memories

  • i love pearl jam so much

lyrics are great, vedder;s voice still amazing

    long live grunge

  • @michaeljamesmccabe=====> agreed.

  • song reminds me of spring break 94! holy shit was panama city the best!

  • Release = Best opener ever

  • Release is definitely up on the top 5 most underrated/ under appreciated of their songs.

  • this song reminds me of my high school years. I love it.

  • @josedodgers me too :D

  • the opening give me chills so badly, i'd flip out if i saw this live

  • I was at this fucking show. Soldier Field! are you kidding me?! God I love Chicago and Pear Jam!

  • The opening chords of Release always give me chills when I hear them live.......

  • anyone who hates on pearl jam, or grunge for that matter, has not heard songs like release, garden, leash, indifference, footsteps or sleight of hand, to name a few...

if they aren't the greatest band ever, they're absolutely among the few best. individually they're excellent musicians, their lyrics are unmatched, and the best part may be what they stand for...

  • his voice does sound ruff compared 2 usual

  • God, Jack Irons fucking blows...

  • sorry but i have to disagree. sures hes different to dave abruzzesse who he replaced but he added that unique vibe to no code, and kept pearl jam together at the time. whether or not you care i think its a bit unfair to say he blows, just cos hes a bit different to dave a or matt cameron

  • i agree the other guy can u play like him..probably not

  • I hate this song... not

  • can't see very well but the band and ed's voice cut through clear and sharp. release, beautiful, powerful. his voice may indeed be spent, but he still belted it out like there was no tomorrow.

  • eddie is unmatched in his prime

  • interesting... "release me" followed by "don't go on me"

  • got this on cd thanks for live video awsome set they played

  • THANK YOU for posting this video. I was lucky to have seen this show. When they opened with this song, EVERYONE was singing along. I almost started crying, I got chills, and it was magic. 2 3/4 hours later they ended the show with Yellow Ledbetter.

  • @martinsmartians heh, the only version of Ledbetter I've ever heard that you can actually understand the lyrics! I agree, fuckin' awesome show!

  • I believe that Eddie once put the tone of Release another way: "Drop the leash, get outta my fucking face."

  • Dude, All I have to say is I've seen a million comments and most of them are just horrible, but on the other hand I've read great ones too. This is by far the best comment I've ever read and I could'nt agree more with you. Indeed thank you Jesus and Pearl Jam

  • wow, go is one of my favorite pearl jam songs and damn this live performance does them more than justice

  • Simply love it!

  • you people atre so lucky to have seen this! i was like 6 at the time! hope they come back to the uk soon! release is a great opening song

  • This was my 15th birthday. Amazing. Still is!

  • When they opened with Release at this show, I almost passed out! One of my all-time favorite PJ songs!
