@Pesto1001 It was Otis Rush, not Buddy Guy. Sorry, this was an important night in my life, and I remember every detail, from playing euchre preshow, to realizing there was no merch...(had to buy my shirt in the parking lot from a bootlegger)
anyone who hates on pearl jam, or grunge for that matter, has not heard songs like release, garden, leash, indifference, footsteps or sleight of hand, to name a few...
if they aren't the greatest band ever, they're absolutely among the few best. individually they're excellent musicians, their lyrics are unmatched, and the best part may be what they stand for...
sorry but i have to disagree. sures hes different to dave abruzzesse who he replaced but he added that unique vibe to no code, and kept pearl jam together at the time. whether or not you care i think its a bit unfair to say he blows, just cos hes a bit different to dave a or matt cameron
can't see very well but the band and ed's voice cut through clear and sharp. release, beautiful, powerful. his voice may indeed be spent, but he still belted it out like there was no tomorrow.
THANK YOU for posting this video. I was lucky to have seen this show. When they opened with this song, EVERYONE was singing along. I almost started crying, I got chills, and it was magic. 2 3/4 hours later they ended the show with Yellow Ledbetter.
Dude, All I have to say is I've seen a million comments and most of them are just horrible, but on the other hand I've read great ones too. This is by far the best comment I've ever read and I could'nt agree more with you. Indeed thank you Jesus and Pearl Jam
I would have loved to be there.

The rest of the band was amazing here, but Eddie's voice sounded like it was spent. And this was the two opening songs?
badmrfrosty09 3 years ago

@martinsmartians heh, the only version of Ledbetter I've ever heard that you can actually understand the lyrics! I agree, fuckin' awesome show!

I believe that Eddie once put the tone of Release another way: "Drop the leash, get outta my fucking face."
