I will say the link is handy on the right track. But several problem can cause this. I've read many threads in forums where several people all having this problem, had different fixes for diff people. But it's a great starting point. And if your lcd is doing this, this is where I would start. BUT, be sure to order good caps
I am in my final stage of trouble shooting with mine, as before it was just the white screen, but then died completely. I will post my results when finished
These monitors get very hot in the back and no way really to get rid of the heat. It causes the capacitors to go bad or bulge at the top. It's an easy fix for some one with a little bit of electronic skills. If you take it apart and find bad capacitors then replace the with a higher wattage capacitor and it will last longer. There are videos on YT show how to repair these lcd monitors.
Westinghouse = Garbage. Mine just started going black soon as I turn it on. Taking it apart ATM to look at the capacitors. Bought mine 3 years ago for 500 bucks, This is complete BS.
I have this problem i am enter in a game example counter stike 1.6 and white the sound is loud but white... Fuck man is not possible to repair!!!!!!!!! :(
(1/2) Mine would go white upon power up, and I'd have to keep turning it off and on till it started up normally. Then I started getting warped images, or distorted pixels. Eventually it just flat out died, and wouldn't power up. It's been a while, decided to finally open it and take a look. It's fairly simple in design it seems, I suspect it's the power supply board that's wrong - but I lack the ability to test everything in circuit save the fuse.
(2/2) I might have to test the capacitors one by one, and see if that's the issue - but it's a timely process involving soldering. I'll let you know how it goes, though it might be a while before I go out and buy replacement parts.
Well, it's official, my LCD died today! It just turned off out of nowhere and will not power back on. Well, that is, it won't stay on.
From the off position, it turns on for anywhere between 1/2 - 6 seconds, then powers down. It will turn on every time I push the power button, just will not stay on. The led that signifies power is in an unstable flickering state as well..
My monitor does it too. I found a spare monitor, and started using it and set the Westinghouse one in my closet for the last couple months. I recently got a new video card and I was setting up dual monitors with it and it was working fine, then it whites out. I was doing it about the same rate before, but after extended use it just continues to white out. I would turn the monitor off, and back on and it would immediately white out. I'm not using it anymore. I just decided to smashed it.
I have the same model and it just now started to have this problem. Like the previous poster said, unplugging seems to give a temporary fix until you turn it on and off again. I discovered for me at least if I turn the brightness down the problem went away.
Interesting, I jimmy'd the monitor cord around, the one that goes into the graphics card, and it stopped. Eventually went back to the white screen in about 24 hrs or so. Perhaps it has something to do with the vga cord or the way it's binding?
I have the same model with the same problem that just started a few days ago. I unplug it to turn it off and haven't had any problems with it coming back on again after I plug it in.
Actualy it is the same model fyi, mine just recently started doing it after upgrading to 9800gtx+ sli from a single 8800gts. i dont think it has to do with that tho, just getting old. does yours also buzz very loudly if you disconnect the power cable then connect it?
To be honest, Im not sure. I have NOT pulled the power to it, for fear of it not turning back on, lol.
I have a Gforce 6800, it works fine.
Also, when I restart my pc, you know how it goes throught post ? Well, every where, in between screens where it's supposed to turn black, it flickers white. Does yours do that too ? This just sucks, when I'm trying to sleep, when the lcd goes to standby, it turns white. . .and is soooo bright. Keeps me up at night :-(
mine is still working but id deffinitly suggest pickin up a new one, because its probably not going to last long, just got a 24" Dell at Bestbuy for 240$ 1920x1080res and alot better picture quality and response times
I dont know the cause of this, but i have what appears to be the same problem with a westinghouse 22" of the same gen. its probably about 3-4 years old now. id have to assume its just ready to die, as these things dont last for ever.

1st off, That link below is not guaranteed to fix your problem, as each problem is unique relative to another. (though it is possible it could)
Secondly, that board is for Version 3. My board is a version 2, they are slightly different. and not found in V2
Thirdly: There is no point in just replacing "most" of the caps only to find out the few you neglected to replace do not work.
Also, you can't just buy any caps and replace them, as not all caps will work, you want certain caps.

@PinoisPino
I was heavily debating doing the same thing. Now that it's ruined, it can't hurt. I will update results in the event I do this.

Also, I've been looking everywhere for a fix before smashing it, and there doesn't seem to be one.
