you misunderstand me. I was essentially saying a 450 ft shot with aluminum is equivalent to hitting a 420 - 430 foot shot with wood. Still a shot either way, but slightly less impressive here (not that this was not an impressive hit) because it was done with metal.

the barrel of a alumnium bat is hollow, the distrubution of mass along the length of an alumnium bat is considerbily different then a solid wood bat thus creating faster speed of a ball whne hit with a bat.
