I remember watching this as a kid. But how much pot was needed to come up with the idea? "Let's take Sgt Bilko and make him a crime-fighting bear with an afro. Oh, and one of his sidekicks has an invisible motorcycle" Wow.
I had a teacher who had a massive afro perm at the time and we called him HB after the Hair Bear Bunch. I met him again recently and his hair was quite normal- I wouldn't have recognised him. An afro on a 60 year old would look quite good, I think....
I don't know how hanna-barbara survived the early years these cartoons were awful. Even though i was an 80's kid u.s.a. network still hung on to these in their cartoon express series . However modern animation seems to be having a competition on who can create the most retarded, unstory driven, or just deranged pieces.
I dont remember this one but I looked it up on wiki to see what years it aired and it was dead by 74 so I may have been too young. Also anything that was on against Bugs Bunny I didnt watch....but it looks cute!
Takes me back to Saturday mornings in the 70's - Hair Bear Bunch, Banana Splits and Multicoloured Swap Shop. Where are these classics nowadays?, no wonder the kids are out mugging pensioners!
@jimfisher15 LOL!! Very true!! Good cartoons are all hidden on cable TV channels now, they dont even show childrens cartoons on Saturday mornings on normal TV now its all cookery crap!!
Aaah good memories! Oooh oooh, Mr Peevley. Me & my two best mates in school in 1980/81 were called the Hair Bear Bunch 'cos we had had crazy lookin' curly hair. Now I realise only one of 'em had curly hair - what's with that?! Also why the invisible motor bike?
I watched it every morning before school in the early 90's, still gonig strong 20 years later. So much better than all that crap for kids on TV these days.
This was soo classic and funny. I used to watch this every friday, saturday and sunday evening when that chud chudders evening show was on Cartoon network (I forgot the name of that show)
dude i watched this show as a kid i loved it told my girlfriend about it shes 26 and never heard of it now i can show her awsome job the hair bear bunch
I remember this show. I just thought about how interesting it is that they are the hair bear "bunch", but only one of them has abnormal hair. Still a good show
This was a milestone in my TV watching as a child. I used to watch any cartoon, I loved anything animated. However, the Hair Bear Bunch was just too silly for me, even at age eight. It was the first cartoon I wouldn't watch. I was becoming harder to please.
Ruby-Spears' "Shirt Tales". Several different critters (like a monkey, tiger, raccoon, panda, etc.) wore magic shirts that would say what they were thinking.
i miss those old tv shows they were the best then what we have now i loved that show i miss like h.r. puffnstuff, sigmen and the sea monsters I LOVED THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Definetly better than todays crap! I mean what the hell is up with ben 10 and frikin WTF POWERPUF girls. I would love to live in cave like that, pool table and everyting!
lol the powerpuff girls were good and um and powerpuff ended about 7 years ago... i really wish older people would stop talking shit on everyone younger :T
@Hashyhash09 Some of today's 'crap' isn't so bad. Spongebob, powerpuff girls, Billy and Mandy, KND, Courage, Cow n Chicken etc are all faves of mine too. It's not really today cartoons that have spoilt today's generation, it's the live actions like Hannah Montana, et al that I feel has ruined animation, Old and New alike. Oh and the Powerpuff girls was actually produced by Hanna Barbera and Cartoon Network until 2001.
@tiggatiger Your comment is so true, most of the cartoon shows from the 90's and early 2000's were actually soo amazing haha, what always makes me sad, is yes the shows like Hannah Montana but too also newer cartoons that just aren't made the same way... I love finding all the retro stuff on youtube! XDD
There were these boys in my class and they had really long hair and whenever we saw them together we all used to to shout " help help here comes the Hair Bear Bunch"
this cartoon would work now lol, it did then and was so good but a zoo in the 21st cnetuary just casues enviromentalists actions even though a carton it glamorises what is a caged animal, which is wat everyone wants not!
