Ok I think the common "atheist" notion that survival and reproduction are a purpose seems to be a bit off. For one a purpose is a very subjective thing, everyone has there own subjective purpose. One can claim the purpose of life is to survive, but the fact is will this be your purpose if you were in a lot of pain? Let's say you had your legs chopped off and bleeding heavily in pain, but not dying. Can you really justify survival then? Perhaps a more pragmatic purpose would be less suffering.

Firstly, the Dead Sea Scrolls actually proved that much of the old testament was altered. Secondly, they predated the new testament, which has many PROVEN alterations.

Also, the Dead Sea Scrolls included the Sermon on the Mount...and predate Jesus by a couple hundred years. Hm...

Do a bit of digging around - find a worthy translation of the dead sea scrolls and compare it to a bible. Any will do but fundies seem to have a boner for the King James.

There are correllations but still there are massive changes and rewrites. The gospels themselves dispute each other and why would there be a King James version at all if the prior version were right and true?
