  • I just wanted to add direct comments to this ... Michelle here. People are using press releases as a way to generate coverage and they're left bewildered why they don't work. I'm all for press releases online. However, bylined articles with educational tips will get you much more SEO than a press release online.

  • how so? I dont think you have grasped how a Press Release with SEO/DAO can greatly benefit your website with backlinks and referral traffic. What you're speaking about is social media which doesn't carry the same benefit as a PR that has been optimized (DAO)

  • Hi Lisa: Great point about driving traffic to your site. I think what Michelle was referring to was using press releases as a strategy to actually get press coverage, not just site traffic and search engine rankings. That's a great point to remember though. I guess press releases aren't dead, they just better suited for a different purpose than they used to be. Is that a fair way to put it from your perspective?     I've found there's still a place for online press releases if you have an ON LINE strategy to increase opt ins, drive traffic to your site or increase search engine rankings.
