@rhinowjb It was. He ran it though an amp and played 8 different clarinet tracks, with 4 different clav parts. He doubled up on the parts. ITs the two most prominent parts that you're playing. Even Stevie Wonder can't get the same sound live. Its just him and another clav playing the other part. And now he uses the D6 live as well.
@rhinowjb I C U have the original session tracks also,, I couldn't believe it was 8 tracks of Clavinet. Thats why every keyboard player I've ever worked with couldn't play it,, only stevie live its crazy,, right?
@ObamaWonFool Appreciated. My KDR (10 likes, 6 dislikes) isn't so hot on this video though. I know it's a totally amateur attempt by myself, but I at least admit that and never have suggested this is an awesome version. Will keep on trying though, one day it just might come together :-)
@ObamaWonFool Yes, to hear the individual recorded tracks is amazing. There are 3-4 unique riffs, each with their own effects, at various volumes, and with their own groove. Individually they sound amazing, but play them all together through a DAW and you almost get the sound of the mastered final track. Your comment on the keys players is funny! It's totally impossible to make a live version of this sound like the recorded track, as your experience shows!
@rhinowjb Man Bro!!! I don't know what U mean by amateur, because your time and feel R killin. I've worked in the business for over 30 years and have worked with monster keyboard players. And None of them have ever played Superstition with the Amazing feel that U do. Your feel & time stand out,, it feels the same as Stevie I can't tell the difference.. Keep killin Bro :) PEACE.
@ObamaWonFool Well, it's nice of you to say, though I can hear lots of timing errors, which effects the groove. I am really not a good player and I know this, but thanks for your comment and I will for sure keep working on it!
the thing is that's fine but in a live gig you can't layer unless you have backing tracks then not so live listen to my band play this and let me know what you think I am the keyboard player thanks for your video danny

Thanks for the comment. I don't play live as I'm still really a beginner. I did watch your video, and my suggestion would be to have your lead guitar play the supporting keyboard part. AFAIK, there is no lead guitar in the original recording, and I have seen other clips where Stevie himself uses exactly this set up: Clav playing main lead, bass guitar, and lead guitar playing the supporting Clav riff. I would be happy to e.mail the supporting Clav track for you to transcribe if that would help.
any chance you could email me these riffs too? finding it hard to work out with the two playing! sounds great by the way, did you work it out by ear or sheet music?
@kkeds83 I don't so much have the riffs, only the tracks themselves. I learnt from the tutorial by "turntapzap" here on YouTube. Check the video out, I'm sure it well help you.
Where did you find the midi file ?
