Everything Michael Steele said was true. I have researched it myself. What is FALSE is this ad and every other one that claims something for nothing. There is no free lunch. Several states have tried this program and what Steele said about the results of this is certainly true. Regardless of what happens in the Democrat claims, in practice people will be denied choice and the program will cause huge expenditures, as it did in OR and TN
So please tell me, on what page of the VA manual are soldiers instructed to ask themselves "Are you really of value to your community?" Please give me the page number where that question is asked, and also give me the exact quote where soldiers are "encouraged to commit suicide."
Remember, I want a quote and a page number from the manual itself, not what some right wing pundit says it says.
I asked for an exact quote. What on page 23 encourages veterans to commit suicide?
According to the "American Veteran" magazine, "Your Life, Your Choices" has been used by the VA since 1997. In 2007 the Bush administration reviewed the book, and "overwhelming praised the manual's benefits and decided to continue circulation."
So how did this then become "Obama's Death Manual"? and not "Bush's Death Manual"?
As I suspected, you don't have any actual quotes from the pamphlet, just the nonsense spouted in the right wing echo chamber.
As for the idea that "Bush reviewed it, he ceased allowing it" that's nonsense as well. The panel of experts the Bush administration appointed to review the material "overwhelming praised the manual's benefits and decided to continue circulation." That's according to American Veteran Magazine, which is published by AMVETs.
It is in the pamphlet I named. It is posted several places online, including a US Representative's congressional site.
I do not care what AMVETS claimed. I read it. I am also a Vet. AMVETS is always trying to improve the Vets ghettos.... "hospitals."
I tried to publish a link to the pamphlet. I told you the information was there. If you are too lazy to do a little work for it, too bad. I am not your mother. Make your own bed.
I am going back to reading H.R.3962. You are on your own.
How do you punish somone who commits suicide? Admit it. You are reading it with rose colored glasses because you want to. For us who have been around a little bit it is definitely meant to encourage people to kill themselves who are down. Weed out the weak.... as if people like you haven't caused ENOUGH of that. I doubt you support the mission of our troops. People of your ilk rarely do. Take your pretentions elsewhere. I have your number.
You have yet to give me a single quote, a single word from the booklet you say you've read "several times" and have "researched" to the point where you can "prove" Steele is telling the truth.
"As if people like you..." You don't know anything about me, other than that I've called your bluff and asked you to provide evidence of any of the wild accusations Steele is making.
But you can't. A half a dozen posts and you're still hemming and hawing.
But not well enough to have actually read the pamphlet, right? I asked you for quotes supporting your parroted talking points, and you tell me, "get the exact quotes yourself."
So if I say "JohnLloydScharf" is a self-admitted pedophile, and you say, "prove it," my response can be: "Go get the evidence yourself"? That's what passes for GOP debate these days?
You are attacking me rather than bringing the evidence, or, indeed, looking at it. I have read the pamphlet.
I also know that initially Bush approved its use until he understood the implications. I have actually read the pamphlet. More than once, in fact. You would do well to drop your partisan rhetoric and read it yourself.
If you have "actually read the pamphlet. More than once, in fact" then you should be able to quote the sections that urge veterans to consider suicide, as Michael Steele alleges the pamphlet does.
It's really very simple. You were the one who said you'd "researched" this and could prove Steele was right. You even gave me a page number. So, give me the quotes from that page. Why is this so difficult for you, since you've read it so many times?
michael steel is only representative of what the "christian"republican party is all about...ignorance, intolerance, stupidity, hate and lies.
most of what they have been saying since their "contract with america" has proven to be bogus lies designed not to enlighten, but to attempt to keep america down.
Three decades of Reaganomics? Yeah right, liberals and democrats both signed off on abolishing the Glass-Steagall act that deregulated derivatives and the entire banking system. Our 13 trillion dollar deficit is chump change when you look at the derivatives bubble that is about to burst.

you poor liberals!
as soon as you take off your eye mask and remove your nose plugs you'll really enjoy the cesspool Obama has filled for you and you're swimming right in it!!!!
They're getting attention for being ignorant and childish.
Oh, and as far as ratings, It's not umcommon for fools to follow fools.
Look at Jim Jones and how he talked people into drinking poison, knowingly.
Hell, look how many people voted for bush.
Jerry Springer was the second largest talk show for awhile and there was nothing but ignorance on his show. No surprise alot of people are following the ornery.
The people are going to be paying premiums, Dimwit. It's going to save Americans money who have insurance. Health insurance premiums for people who have insurance have risen three times faster than wages. Private insurers are also refusing to cover legitimate claims.
And what he spend it on....hmmmmm BAILING OUR COUNTRY OUT OF THE FUCKING MESS THAT "W" LEFT!!!!!!!!
WAKE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Personally I CANT WAIT to hear Bush in his new career as a "motivational speaker!!!" LMAO Should be short and sweet and it goes something like this..."if you want to be successful...just don't do what I did. Period." I think he could handle that...there aren't any big words in it or anything! LOL
Both Parties are filled with nothing but liars.

Republicans, the party of NO.
They and the insurance co.s blocked previous attempts at health care reform.
They opposed Medicare.
They were against allowing the Fed. govt. to negotiate with the Pharmaceutical co's for lower cost prescription drugs.
They didn't want to allow seniors to buy lower cost prescription drugs in Canada.
Now they are trying to block health care reform again.
Same old lies, deception, and scare tactics.

Get your exact quotes yourself. You do not believe me, so get it yourself.
You might quote your own. When Bush reviewed it, he ceased allowing it. It was reinstated by the Obama Administration.

So here's how it works. Conservative makes wild accusation. I say, "Give me evidence." Conservative says, "Find it for yourself!"
From the pamphlet: "Q: Can I specify that I want assisted suicide in my directive?
A: No. Assisted suicide is currently illegal."
Another part talks about making sure "all medical decisions made on my behalf...are in keeping with my religious teachings."
Urging suicide? Hardly.
Admit it. You have nothing. You're just repeating what you've been told.

Which statement in this video do you have proof to the contrary? (or are you just here for name calling contests)
