  • they started parodies

  • Soooo cute!

  • Adorable!!!

  • How cute!!! I will think about it tomorrow!!!

  • Too. Freaking. Cute.

  • Was this a joke?!?!

  • where's his smoking pipe?

  • my favorite novel!! gotta love anything to do with this classic!! not every child can recognize this movie as my kids do...

  • hahahahaha so cut!

  • 4 people should be gone with the wind themselves.

  • @MarauderOSU Five. ....What the heck is there to dislike?

  • @casestudyification, the Cookie Monster has to erat them for not having a sense of magic toeard the Muppets's entertainment .

  • I didn't see "Gone With The Wind" either but i did know a bit of the synopsis LOL

  • Alasdair Cookie!!! XD

Oh Sesame Street, why do you have to suck now? You were so good once upon a time...

  • "2 of us take away 1 of us leaves...

    .AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!

    bye kermit!

  • That lamb is lucky it wasn't chocolate chip. lol

THIS is what Sesame Street should be like now.. Ah, the good stuff..

  • Oh Sesame Workshop (rip CTW), why won't you return to what made you great? Humor adults could appreciate, with entertainment capturing the imaginations and attention of its young viewers?

Quality over quantity. Computer animation is great, but puppets are real. Elmo's World? Cute, but.. well.. The new stuff is like eating onion fries versus a thick, juicy steak - sure, it's food, but the steak has substance and uniqueness.

  • I love the pig on the chandelier at 1:38

  • lol!

  • I thought Cookie Monster was going to stuff that lamb into his mouth! Guess he has a soft side...

  • I don't think Cookie Monster would eat anything that was still alive. At least not anymore...

  • He wouldn't back then either. There was one time when he tried, but that was just a temporary loss of mind on his part.

  • @Garrettk41 Yeah. I guess you're right.

  • Does anyone have the long opening to this, where it pans over a bunch of books and a plate with cookie crumbs on it?

  • so thats why they call it Gone with the Wind.

  • Who says there isn't any violence in children's programing? Those poor little lambs seem to be getting blown about pretty violently, didn't they?

  • "Frankly, my dear, I haven't the froggiest...uh..foggiest" - LOL Love it!

  • Aww, loved it when Cookie cuddled the sheep.

  • So did I! I was afraid he was gonna eat the poor thing at first.

  • monsterpiece theater? YES!

  • lol 5 out 5

  • I like how Cookie Monster cuddled up with the sheep at the end of this sketch.

  • Forgive me for sounding ignorant, but how was that supposed to be a parody of Gone With the Wind?

  • just on the title.. with a southern girl. lol.

  • The title is really a play on words. It's windy hence..."Gone with the wind" plus kermit says "Frankly my dear, I haven't got the froggiest...foggiest". It's a parody of one the most famous lines in movie history from the film.

  • In the film, Rhett Butler says to Scarlett: "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn!"

  • Which is actually incorrect acording to the bokk. He just says "My dear, I don't give a damn."

  • @DollarJumper You think they're going to say a curse word in front of millions of preschoolers?

  • It's all in the title.

  • This isn't the original version. Oh well, at least they reused the old Alistair Cookie voice tracks from the 1986 version!

I heard that this re-filmed version was also seen with the Union Jack intro around 1991. Am I right?

  • Nice catch at the end!

  • I didn't care for this one as a kid, with all the chaos of everyone being blown away. But it's still pretty cool.

  • I love the random animals flying past in the background. The pig in the chandelier was priceless!

  • This was always one of my favorite Monsterpiece Theater bits; I love how Cookie watches the animals flying past him, before he ends up catching a sheep, then cuddles it, lol.

Man, I wish Disney would allow Kermit to still make appearances on Sesame Street these days.

  • Well I Have seen Kermit in Do De Rubber Duck and another bit that they re-play on the show these days. Better than nothin' if you ask me!

  • I think the last time Kermit was on SS was during Season 32, reporting on the hurricane with Al Roker, and in a musical bit with Kep Mo. BTW, are you the same Quesal from Muppet Central?

  • Yes I am

  • Now THIS is one that I remember! A wonderful rendition of a classic movie...that I've never watched either. I also hear it's about the wind..

  • I remember seeing this on Noggin's 123 Sesame Street.

  • At 1:13, Kermit's action image seems to match the picture seen on Season 23's Opening of Monsterpiece Theater.

    What do you think?

  • Actually, that was on Season 24. Season 23 still had the Union Jack flag.

  • Comment removed

  • That's right. I suppose it was due to them switching taping studios and also introducing the Calypso version of the opening theme and the "dancing city" closing credits.

  • I wasn't sure. And BTW... thanks, man.

  • That's great!

  • Ooh, I love this sketch so much.

  • lol
