  • gotta love how there's one guy that stands out by having short hair in a pop metal band...

  • HAMMERJACKS

  • i'm amazed how underrated Kix is considering the fact that nobody sounded like them at the time. 60% metal, 40% new wave, a touch of punk and pop sensibilities all blended to perfection.

  • Hey check 'em out tomorrow Friday before Xmas at Ram's Head in Baldymore Hon ! They'll be rockin' the joint. Kix rules. Them and Crack the Sky best thing ever came out of Baltimore !

  • I grow up around brunswick md,wear one of the members frequently visit! I love their songs Im 13 but i love the 80's and Im great friends with the members they enjoy the comments check out my videos

  • Not as bad as B & B made it out to be. But this dude's Robert Plant mannerisms are pretty tooly.

  • why was this video shot in NEW YORK instead of Baltimore?makes you think don't it?

  • @mxxxfres it was 1981, donk. It's not like they had a mega-huge budget.

  • I love Kix! They make me want to party. Hard!

  • 11 people wanted to watch Beavis and Butthead rip these cornholios a new one, but ended up here instead!!!

  • COOL MULLETS!

  • KIDS 20-43 in this area don't listen to the Kix. Reason? They'd rather

listen to da rap-crap and that generic female pop oh stop me please. I'd

rather list to a can crusher..

    KIX Yeah, yeah, yeah..

  • I believe i was born in the wrong generation.

  • I would listen to this back-to-back for 48 straight hrs. before I would listen to 30 seconds of todays shit....

  • @midnitemover123 I agree

  • awesome

  • GUITAR PLAYER=HHHHHOOOOOOOOTTTTIIIIIIIEEEEEEE!!!!!!

  • Actually the farther you go back with KIX albums they have more of a punk edge, their early stuff didn't sound like anybody

  • KIX is a f$#@&^g riot! They did this cheesy pop thing on purpose and it works. Just shows the talent. I hate when they get lumped into the HAIR Band genre only because they were pulled into the mainstream at that time. They were around way before any hair band and their style is more straight up rock like AC/DC. KIX Rocks! Just saw them last week and they still rock!

  • See them at Gettysburg Bike Week, Granite Hill Camping Resort Saturday Night July 9th 2011

    Outdoor Concert

Should be one hell of a good time!

  • I thought that song was cool until I saw the video! That is really, really bad... even by 80's Hair Band standards!

  • This actually isn't THAT bad haha Beavis and Butthead ripped them though lmao

  • For Shame is my Favorite....also Yeah,Yeah,Yeah and Scarlet Fever. Good stuff.

  • wow.. just stop.. you suck KIX!

  • ohh my god is very cooll rock n roll forever 80s is my life

  • There was actually a college station in RAL playing KIX. Can you imagine? I can't. They did not drink white wine, hahahahahahah.

    8080808080

  • First song I ever heard by KIX. Looking for trouble!

  • Anyone got a music sheet?

  • I know these guys. Steve told me Atlantic records forced them into a more pop direction on this album. Listen to their first release and their 3rd. Midnight Dynamite is a epic album but the backlash from Cool Kids kept it from being as popular as it should have been. I watched Poison open for these guys in Clarysville Md. Prime example of a record lable screwing a band. Poison became huge and Kix never got the popularity they deserved.

  • @71stormrider Most people simply don't understand what happened to the music business in the 80s. A video such as this one has the potential to make someone write off a bands entire body of work. What some people don't realize is the fact that they likely had a gun to their heads. When the options are playing a song you neither wrote, nor like, or getting a day job. You do what you have to do to keep the dream alive. Compromise is a bitch. Some corporate asshole had the wrong idea here.

  • Comment removed

  • @71stormrider ..... true.... but Kix is still touring and Poison isn't....... just saw them recently in Lancaster Pa.....

  • Anybody got a cigarette!?

  • Im here to tell ya< if you were at the MT View on saturday night, you were a kool kid!!!!!

  • The un-cool kids are the guys in those grunge bands from the early 90's and Beavis and Butt-head. Kix are the cool kids.

  • COOL KIDS SUCKS PIG DESTROYER RULES UP THE IRONS HELLYEAH

  • Beavis and Butthead were stupid as hell. Kix on that show was a disgrace to KIX.

I knew some guys that were about as stupid as the characters on that show in school. Laughed at them too wondering what they would be when they grew up. Fry cooks burn out style.

  • @bil56 Word. B&B suck. They're the un-cool kids, not Kix.

  • I've discovered this song on Beavis and Butthead and I was kind of surprised that they didn't like this song

  • cool riff

  • pffffftttt......there is crappy music out there, and about 10 levels below it, youll find this crap!!!!!!

  • @kevinsmithism hey troll!

  • This is bad ass,,2 Thumbs Up !!!

  • They ARE cool kids. They're sexy too. :)

  • Kid tested, mother approved.

  • @jansenvs1 Oh yeah. Super cool.

  • anybody got a cigarette?

  • steevfagon67you can go eat a big fat nigger dick, you whiney pussyfart!go back to watching your prince vids. yeah, you probly love you some dungeons and dragon fag shit too!ha ha ha, just shut the fuck up!

  • Its good but I think it needs more cowbell!!!!!

    Love you, Steve and co!

  • I had to do a search for this just to see if it would come up, and lo and behold, here I am. I remember watching this on Beavis and Butthead. I don't blame them for ripping on this. Everything about this is pretty bad.

  • when i was a cool kid it was the shooz, best bar band ever, seen them open for judist priest, at the wineberg center frecerick md.long before most people knew who the priest where, they got there start in my local aera, kix are great!!! (FREEBIRD)

  • @lvf91265 kix wrote this song after their van broke down and we were on the corner hanging out and partied with a couple band members,it was back in the early 80's

they were at the youth park in reedsville pa,we hung out at the corner alot and partied,

  • @oldchevyw

Dude i raced my dirtbike there lol

  • @oldchevyw LIAR! haha

  • cooool kiddddddds!

  • This album was really good. This had to have been filmed in Baltimore.

  • "Uh. If these are the cool kids then I'd hate to see what the uncool kids look like." - Butthead

  • @heavymetalprophecy it was the 80's the definition of a cool kid has changed in the past 30 years

  • @TheAutiger13 not for every one cause I think it kix ass

  • @heavymetalprophecy do you prefer the hip cool guys dude?

  • @heavymetalprophecy They were cool in the early 1980s.

  • Comment removed

  • Krokus?

  • Sure this song is lame, but it's so bad it's GREAT! Cool Kids is a grat new wave/hard rock album, but the best one was the first one.

  • What year did this come out?

  • @lurch321 1983

  • I agree with you. Every song on the first album could be a single/hit. Around MIdnight Dynamite they started sounded like everybody else. Too many AcDc riffs...

  • Yeah, and you´re a fucking asshole.

  • You have a colorful vocabulary,Btw Im a kix fan maybe my comment was unclear its suposed to be sarcastic. A kiss fan said that kix was weak , and i thout that was funny because they put out a Disco album. Thanx and FUCK U TOO

  • i like this album

  • Ahhh, the days of HammerJacks and Kix, brings back a lot of memories,, and some I can't remember.

  • I STILL AM OBSESSED WITH THIS!!!

  • hey you dont know what you are talking about they are from westernport maryland

  • I agree totally. The first Kix album is espescially awesome.

  • hahaha, 100th rating!!!

    5* ;D

  • Yes, specially the first one "Kix" is very original and solid. All songs are worth and it grows on you (and stays) if it is the first time you hear it. . Highly recommended.

  • started out as the scooze not the shoes, that was a band out of chicago, then became the generators, then the baltimore cocks, then asked the cereal company general mills if they could use the name KIX, they gave permission ..

  • Comment removed

  • Kix started out as "The Shooze"....and they are outta Hagerstown MD

  • Yes they are and Ronnie is one heck of a guitar teacher too!!

  • I'd say Blow My Fuse would be where to start.

Every record they did is good though I think.

  • Vagabond91079: Kix (their first one) or Midnight Dynamite are my favorites. Try them.

    Robert

  • o my god, these guys ARE cool

  • jaja este tema es severo vvia el rock señores si

  • kix! it's very hard to find their albums anywhere now a days. blow my fuse is the only one i can find anywhere. i'd love to have cool kids.

  • try Amazon.

  • then stop drinking your pinche tequila, you ignorant grasoso

  • Am I the only one who notices how late the "cool kids" start dancing after the music starts? When I saw this on VH1 Classic the other day, i thought they were starting early. Nope, its late

  • But the video is classic 80's nonetheless!!

  • dont look up the fucking music video or for that matter watch the video if you dont like the fucking music to begin with.

  • FUCK YOOOOOO!

  • Absolutely. Kix were and will always be awesome in my book... cool kids unite, baby!

  • I agree tommylee2719. I love 80's metal/hardrock. Steve Whiteman is awesome and kix deserves alot more fame then what they got. One of the best bands of the 80's era.

  • This is a great song , good SIMPLE composition , feel good vibe to the ENTIRE thing! Now of course it's going to catch abunch of crap from you stupid kid's who think EVERYTHING has to be all HARD and HEAVY and FAST and SCREAMING Singer's and all stupid hardcore...man

this is MUSIC and that's all there is to it!

Put's a smile on my face ! Kix rules and that's that!

  • i like new rock but i love the 80's thats what made me who i am.

  • gangsta rap is for fags

  • Rap/Hip Hop music is a piece of shit too!

  • Singer sounds like Mick Jagger

haha and he lives in my neighborhood... not kidding.

  • go fuck yourself dipshit

  • KIX Rule!! Strange video and song :P but i like it. Kix music in the early days was more for the kids, later they developped a more harder sound. Nontheless, every album rocks from beginning till the end

  • best video ever!

  • About as long as it probably took you to waste your load in your boyfriend's ass, loser.

Yeah well, it ain't gangsta rap, faggot.

  • If you think this sucks, you obviously wear your pants halfway down your shaved ass so that you can tempt some brutha's into reaming out your hemorrhoid factory.

    WHOOP! Thaya it IS!

That;s da way ya like it, faggot?

    LOL! what a pussy...

  • OK< if you're a metal fan, you're cool with me, but Rush wasn't "metal". That whiny poser Geddy was just plain annoying! Alex's guitar sound was P-U-S-S-Y too.

KIX still rules---I used to go see them in the 80's and they completely kicked ass. Best fucking club band EVER.

  • ok Rush is not Metal but then again Rush is in a league all their own. What Rush brought to the table in the70s alone was unlike anyone. If you can sit there and actually knock a band like Rush then your obviously shallow when it comes to understanding the writing and performing of music. MANY and MOST true musicians look up too and were influenced by Rush. Listen to La Villa Strangiato and tell me thats pussy. Whiney? Have you heard Plant AND Halford in the early days? They made Lee sound timid

  • mmm...NAH; Rush sucked.

Queensryche, Ynigwie Malmsteen, Manowar, Nazareth--that's more my school.

Dan Cafferty is the greatest metal singer ever followed closely by Eric Adams. Geddy is a little girl, compared...

Take all that 7/8, 5/4 progressive bullshit of Rush bullshit and flush it--metal is all about 4/4 kick/snare delivering a steady beat hard enough to stop your heart.

  • Can you say co co co cocaine?

  • hammerjacks lives!

  • makes me want to watch that Beavis and Butthead "are the saying Krokus" episode where they rip on these tools.

  • your mom goes to college

  • ms69940 You are a linguistic genius you should be an english professor at Podunk U.

  • your mom goes to college

  • Saw them in Reedsville,PA in 83 or 84. Must've been 4000 people there. Well, maybee400, but hey I was only 14. Coolest damn thing I had ever seen up till then.

  • Heyyyyyyy I was there!!! Their van broke down and we partied with them! It was 84

  • anyone from pennsylvania are dorks

  • Dragon221455, when you said "im the coolest kid in my school" that had me rolling. First class, mate.

  • mate? are you from Australia or what....dumbass

  • Stop flirting.

  • This video was recorded in downtown Harrisburg, Pa. on a very slim budget as the video proves. What this video doesn't show is how much heart and soul these guys put into their music and live shows. Anyone who has ever seen the raw energy and charisma this band posseses live onstage will agree, this is one talented and hard working band.

  • yea kix are for kids

  • If these are the cool kids, I'd hate to see the uncool kids.

  • Beavis and Butthead said the same thing!

  • I had to drive this band to the next gig cuz their shit broke down and they we're all drunk and smell was unlike any other I had ever encountered. I had to get rid of the vehicle cuz it stunk for months after that night. Right around 1979 or 80

  • yeah one other thing these kids today got the idea of music all wrong its not about death or wat ever -.- its about having fun and letting loose!! n maybe if ur lucky geting laid lol yeah winger is a awsome band. i dont see how u can love kix then put down winger or some thing like that n im tired of people n these kids today dissin green day!!! like my dad said its how well u play not wat u play can i kick these kids ass's?

  • hell yeah!!!! love kix!! i have kix and cool kids on good old vyinal along with other great 60's 70's and 80's bands..17 and old school!!! sadly my 50 year old record player..i think its older then that is shot so i cant play records no more till i get another one lmfao

  • Why the hell would anyone insult Glam Metal? Its fucking awesome! Some shit like Winger or Warrant or Europe sucked major ass, but stuff like Kix, Motley Crue, Twisted Sister, Skid Row and WASP is fucking amazing!

  • man if u cant appriciate warrant and winger or europe then ur not a glam metal fanatic....those bands were bands who made great music

    dont be putting them down

  • Yeah slaughterrocks121 is right! Warrant, Winger and europe were great bands, and the other bands were great too, nearly all bands in glam metal was fantastic in my opinion! you probably havent even heard anything from winger, warrant and europe except the final countdown and cherry pie... and they are still great songs too..

  • "Have good time all the time" Kix is hot!!!

  • You don't seem very happy seeing how you're flaming every comment everyone makes against this admittedly shitty band. Go ahead and insult the music I like (Industrial, EBM, IDM, Glitch). Those are pretty easy genres to insult, but you won't see me getting into a huff over it like you are.

  • Then stop replying to my comments, you schmuck. What makes you think I like Grunge anyway? Do you just pick a random genre and apply it to the person you're insulting? In that case, I would insult you by saying you love Cock Rock, but I'm a little too late for that. The only thing beneath Cock Rock is The Carpenters, and even I won't hit you that low.

  • I know what good music isn't. But if my only source of music was a Wal Mart in the middle of Wyoming, I'd probably have a warped sense of music, too.

  • didn't grow a cock yet,poor boy

  • You're probably the dude I saw in my car mirror one morning on the way to work, belting out Sinead O'Conner's "Nothing Compares 2 U"

  • Ooooh. Sick burn. I guess I have no choice but to try and insult you back by saying that you listen to something worse than "Sinead O'Conner" (sic). But you've already stuck up for this abomination, so it's a moot point. Thanks buddy.

P.S. Stop scoping out "dudes" from your rear view mirror. I admire your courage, bu that's the creepiest shit you can admit to on Youtube.

  • Hard Rock is about feeding the stereotype that white people dance like shit and have no sense of style? Whoa!

  • You being so adamant in telling me to fuck myself for insulting a really awful cock rock band is what will inspire me to donate a quarter the next time I see one of the volunteers for Misericordia. And to show how serious I am, I'll politely decline when they offer the Tootsie Roll. You're very special.

  • i lived by the youth park ,we were hanging on the corner when their van broke down so we partied with the ones that would get out of the van, that was the shit back then, shortly after that this song came out

  • i love this band and this song too

so go away dude and stop dreaming up gay fantasies about steve and his band

    its rockNroll

dont like it then go watch something else

  • You're an assclown, tniekowal.

  • this song was made after they broke down and a few kids were on the corner and helped them, they were playing in Reedsville ,pa,,,,hmmm,I think I grew up there

  • Saw them in 83 in DC. We used to quote Yeah Yeah Yeah all the time in high school! Kix are legends!

  • some went their own way but the lead singer sings in a band called, funny money, now

i swa funny money this summer at the gables,it was ok

  • Can't wait to see them play at Rocklahoma 7/11/8 Only place better than Hammerjacks is the Playboy Mansion!

  • kickass hair metal

  • COOL!

  • These guys are from Hagerstown, MD. This video was shot in the alley behind what is the adult book store. I know this because I lived in Hagerstown.

  • yeah, they were from Maryland like myself :D

  • These guys were from my hometown. I saw them when they first were starting out as the New Shoes. They were awesome then and only got better as they became Kix. Thanks for the post.

  • Mr. M was here. : )

  • One of the greatest Rock and Roll bands right here. They never became too saturated with that mainstream bullshit of the 80s, balls to the wall rock and roll!

  • from a maryland boy livin in London, cheers for posting Kix! yeah yeah yeah

  • GREAT, DO YOU HAVE THE SONG FOR SHAME?
