  • wow, this mustve taken HELLA LONG to render! haha damn.

  • You must do a special effects in movies. Go please! You are amazing!

  • SSDs from OCZ are no more than crap! Believe me I had one sent it in and then it went broken again. NEVER AGAIN! :-O!!!

  • @LukasVideosify I don't have it anymore, either. First one broke after a week completely. Second one caused system freezes all the time. After a whole week of troubleshooting I gave up and sent the second one in, too. From what I've read on forums, lots of people had the same problems with SATA-III SSDs (different brands as well). I guess I'm gonna stick to hard disks a little while longer.

  • @NionsChannel Well, currently I'm running on a 120GB SATA-III Corsair which was expensive as hell. I only encountered problems once but I can of course absolutely understand your point. I think I'll be buying a Notebook soon because I travel a lot and so I goingto sell my high-end PC anyways... :3=/

  • If someday i need someone to make a cool commercial, movie or something, take for sure that I would call you. Keep the nice work!

  • @efezda I'm sorry. Nice is maybe too short. Amazing!

  • the person who disliked this video must be ginger. because he has no soul

  • nice video, but you should have chosen some music ;)

  • This may seem really vague, but does anyone know what the program was with the built in pine tree and possibly the blender monkey and you could resize it and stuff, also there was like a windows where you could see the rendered image and move the camera and lighting and stuff?

  • BLENDER is remarkable!!!! A FREE (still, afaik) program that does many of the things REAL FLOW does, which costs over $2000 or MORE, if I remember. With feature set that rivals REAL FLOW, MAYA, SOFTIMAGE and HOUDINI, JESUS! I just hope it can stay free for a few more years.

  • @TEMAOHI2787 it will stay free forever :)

  • lol 0:50 trollface shape

  • Nice job ;)

  • I don't understand why people keep asking for computer specs, with enough patience anything could be rendered on a machine with a single core processor and 256MB of RAM. Obviously a stronger computer could render faster. So if you're wondering about how you could get a computer that can render the fastest, then look for the most powerful one you can afford. If you understand enough about computers to ask for tech specs, then you know enough to look up a fast PC.

  • @TheJacobah The thing is, if your scene is too complex, and especially when you run out of ram, your workflow can extremely slow down. On the one hand, you have to wait much longer, before you get results and then can adjust your animation, on the other hand your animation tool might even become too lagy to work with. Unfortunately Blender doesn't seem to be able to handle complex scenes very well: e.g. if you only view a subset of particles, they still take a lot computation power.

  • @TheJacobah Some people don't know as much about the subject as you? Your response comes off as condescending. You do realize some people are wowed by this and don't know very much about how it's done, don't you ? Just saying , you come off as some better than thou nerdy McNerdson when people have actual questions. ASS.

  • @JonnyUnderrated My point was that if you know enough about PCs to ask for specs and UNDERSTAND what someone is talking about when they list those specs then you know enough to buy a powerful PC. The people that don't even know what RAM or processors are and how they affect PCs are the ones that are gonna have problems getting a computer for 3D rendering. Those people wouldn't even know what to do with the information if someone listed the specs of their PC.

  • 50 sec in is stunning

  • you can't have ddr3 ram if your motherboard had ddr2 ram..

  • blender is soooo cool, love it

  • aparece uma mensagem subliminar no video, 14 segundos !!!!!!!!!! reparem

  • 1:00 Ghastly? :0

  • I really like the rotating column, a little modification and you could easily have a tornado asset.

  • I ned no 16 GB ram to do this all i need is to pour water on my 256 mb ram PC and looks so real i just need tow atch....and makes me laugh somehow :) 10 year old mofo wooden shit PC ......R0bY90 here P's

  • I like the rasta smoke at the beginning

  • 1:03 is my favorite

  • Nice work!

  • I would kill for a good tutorial of making things like that.

  • i reckon i damn near jizzed my self

  • It's wierd, I like the particle flame better... 1:28, 1:38

Why do you think the smoke sim fire has this pixelly look where it touches the mesh?

  • @Tikvanaya the smoke starts out as a cube representation of volume, then it is interpolated between two or more other points to create more 'smoky' shape - at the bottom of the sphere, since the smoke is just popping into existence and rising, there may be a lack of points nearby to interpolate to, so it defaults as a cube.

  • 1:01 it's Voldemort :-|

  • Jaw dropping. I need time- time time to learn blender. Thanks for the inspiration!

  • what software did you use. send me link if you downloaded it. please?

  • @TheDarth199 blender 2.55

  • Awesome smoke simulations, but the fire really blew me away! Please make a tutorial for the fire, I'll be forever in your debt.

  • So, for stuff like this crucial pc parts are ram and cpu (I guess)? Am I right?

  • @orux100 right

  • @orux100 And gpu ;)

  • @orux100 That, and PSU. :)

  • Great job on these effects! I think that there us only one thing that you could do to make it more awsome: use voodoo camera software to put that freaky face on someone . That would be awesome.

  • it looks to real!

    FAKE ;D

  • Wow this is awesome!!! Good Job :)

Needs a very powerfull CPU ;D

  • Amazing job. This looks very nicely animated.

  • @An8thLegionModeler the second one: 4000k = 4.000.000 = 4m

  • must have tooken you YEARS to render?? xD

  • Awesome! Very good job!!!

  • I'm almost certain that I've commented on this video before, but I just have to say again, how well done this is. I keep coming back to watch it. Great quality man!

  • really genius...could u please tell me how strong computer u have???

  • @Milorad97 Not as strong as most people think: A Core 2 Quad Q9550 @2,83Ghz and 4Gb DDR2 Ram. However I ordered some hardware upgrades just one day ago: A Core i7-2600K, 16Gb DDR3 Ram and an OCZ Vertex 3 SSD as my new system drive. I wonder whats possible with that hardware... so stay tuned for the next effect compilation. ;)

  • @NionsChannel i almost izzed on my pants with this pc that you have

  • @NionsChannel you would need a new motherboard

  • @NionsChannel that's pretty powerful, even modest people can come out sounding stupid

  • @NionsChannel If it isnt a secret...could u tell me the price of an i7 core and 16 gb ram togeather?

  • @NionsChannel Well, actually everything will be the same - but you'll be able to render a lor faster.

  • @NionsChannel you know... just some upgrades... just a i7... thats allll....

  • Render Time: 2.5 Ice Ages

  • Rendertime = 5 days straight?

  • Beautiful indeed!

  • 1:02 that scary face is going to haunt me in my dreams tonight!

  • Dude, you should really do a tutorial about these effects. Nice achievements, BTW.

  • Godamned! Awesome! What are your computer specs?

  • ☆ ★ ☆ EPIC ☆ ★ ☆

  • i assume you have 20 cores, 50GHz and a memory of 160GB pc

  • You need initial velocity on that fire sim done with the smoke simulator, it gets rid of the blockyness at the start.

  • Thank you for the inspiration. :)

  • VOTE FOR TUTORIAL !!!!

  • Now, on a different note. Thanks Nion for your work and help showcasing what the new fluid\smoke solutions are capable of! Their resolution is awesome, light years away from the older 2.49 ones and now can be used for producing something that looks professional, and your solutions/setups are very well done.

  • wow, you are one talented guy... how did you get the fire using the smoke sim to not emit smoke?

  • this is... epic. You just beat Blender. Somehow, you did.

  • been using blender for a while now, about 8 years ... yust stepped over to 2.55 (hated the new interface ) and i am making a whole house, with quite impressive quality, to my standards . but this is just amazing , u blew me away...

  • Awe. Some.

  • How do you do that?! O__O I mean, I know how the smoke particles work, but not as advanced as this!

  • i came

  • inspiring, thank you

  • Those look like SPH particles... and are possibly some of the best applications of particles or smoke that I have seen yet. Is there any chance of you making a tutorial on any of this? Or at least the basic settings, then a quick overview of what to tweak?

  • Nion,

Can you give any hints on how you built the red on white ani, please ?

  • The particle fire sim looks better than the smoke fire sim !!! HOW ? Witch one takes longer to bake ?

    Anyway... you are a genius.

  • @rewii93 Do you really think so?? Anyway... the particle simulation needs much more baking and rendering time (it uses millions of particles).

  • @NionsChannel I think the smoke fire is way better! Awesome!

  • Oh yeah!? I made a cube SPIN. That's right SPIN. Just try and beat THAT!

  • @kittiesization Wow! I don't know how to compete with that... ;)

  • Holy Blender ... this is really quality stuff. What type of machine did you use, and how long are the render times? This is INSANE.

  • Superb!!

  • wow how did you do that. Its really amazing. Please make a tutorial :DD

  • One of The Most Powerful Blender Particles Simualtions I have ever seen till now!

  • unfassbares Talent. Das geht schon in Richtung Commercial-Qualität 1A

  • Did you only used Blender for this Oo? I couldn't imagine that Blender is so powerfull.

DId you used Plug Ins in Blender? And if so, which ones? ^^ ty

  • @woozyloozy Only Blender 2.55 Beta, neither plugins, nor an unofficial release.

  • @woozyloozy: Blender is just as powerful, if not more powerful then something like 3D Max.

  • @metalx1000 That's hyperbole. Blender is far from being as powerful as the *problem relevant* pro solutions are. I like blender a lot and have always preferred it's interface (probably b/c it was the first I learned) but it's not even close to being an Autodesk 3D production and compositing quality package like 3Dmax et al. is, please don't go around saying crap like that, you make the blender community look silly.

  • @jackalsocoke: Trust me, I used 3D Max for years. It doesn't compare to Blender. Movies like Sintel are obvious demonstrations of that.

  • @metalx1000 Umm... Yeah, right. Read what I wrote again. It's like you're comparing OpenOffice slideshow to Microsoft Word and saying that OpenOffice can make a better range of professional quality presentation slides... It's missing the point, just as Microsoft Office comes in an Office suite, so does professional Autodesk. Blender is a jackofalltrades program, you have to compare the specifics to make any sense, ie blender smoke sim to Autodesk fluidFX. . . Do you see it now?

  • @woozyloozy Blender 2.5 Beta was used to make "Sintel - Third Open Movie by Blender Foundation" trust me Blender 2.5 is really powerful they changed everything in Blender ...

  • There is nobody on youtube who shows you how to do this stuff. People are dying for these tutorials! I'd love to be able to make something like 1:01.

  • This is beautiful stuff.

  • You should make a tutorial on how to make awesome smoke.

  • How did you get two diff smoke colors in one area?

Oh wow alright Nions you are by far the best blenderer, and have the most original material. I love it!

  • I like your ink like effects

  • So awesome! Excellent work! A tutorial would be great. =D

  • you should of added music.

  • @ronstero music

  • Wonderful

  • PLEASE TUTORIAL!

  • @galigal2 wwwdotblenderdiplomdotcom/ every thing he does in on that site :)

  • @galigal2 Gottfried Hofmann made quite a few tutorials about these effects. Take a look at blenderdiplom(dot)com

  • WOW, beautiful!!

  • awesomeness...the best blender effects video i have ever seen till date...

  • wow , loved the red and blue smoke puffs , felt like fluid dropped in water

  • Amazing

  • Awesome work! What are your pc specs and bake times???

  • Your CPU is now melted.

  • you are a blender god

  • nice

  • oh man your soooo gooood

  • yea like it too

  • So glad I subscribed... ur a blender god, better than mpan!

  • Very cool, keep up the good work

  • Incredible!!
