You held up a Rhino and said "I can't get much attack out of it..." I'm with you—they don't produce much volume. However, I always keep one around for practicing when I don't want to make a lot of noise that might disturb people. So they're good for that!
Try the wegen picks.. I am using the teardrop shaped "big city" pick. It was referred to me by the guys at the mandolin store and it has a great tone and I have no trouble holding onto it becuase it has the grip holes in it. I have tried both the dawg and the golden gate but I have trouble holding onto it at times..
The dog 2 pick sounds great. I could do to get hold of supplier as I keep loosing the type of pick I am using at present. It is a Clayton .38, triangular in shape with an eagle printed on it. I must point out that it is light brown and very near transparent. So if I leave it down I have difficulty finding it, I was given three as a gift and can not find them in the shops in Ireland. Apparently they came from the USA. Any help appreciated.

The Wegen will amaze you compared to all of these. Compare the M150 ($5) to the Dawg and the difference in feel, speed and tone is night and day.
