LOL, my horse shakes about his waterbucket, feed bucket, headcollor, u name it, he'll play with it!!! shuch a kid. he's meant to be 10years old??!! he's more of a baby than the foal we have!!!
haha. my boy does that. but he's never as succesful, he always does it with lead ropes and things like that, but he always ends up clubbing himself round the head! lol.
lol cute, is that a leg strap?? haha my mare picks up shovels and swings them around and my mini foal pushes the wheel barow over when its standing.. :( not cool when youv spent 2 hours mucking out and its full.
My appaloosa likes to grab things out of the pasture and scare the other horses with them. Once, he found a tarp from somewhere and was shaking it at the other horses. He'd let them come up close, then he'd SHAKE it again! The freakin horse picked up a tire. A TIRE. And threw it at another horse! lololol!!
Oh and by making that comment I really hope everyone realizes how dumb this is to argue on someone elses page when they clearly want everyone else to enjoy their video. I dont want anyone replying to my post, how about everyone just take a deep breath, drop it and stop =) ?
Its a cute video! Stop arguing about stupid crap and enjoy the video, and if you have something negative to say. DONT SAY IT AT ALL. Like when you were in preschool =)
Btw my horse does the same with buckets. Except it hits him in the chest so he spooks, drops it, runs then comes back for more. Silly horses =)
Horses are so stupid. This one is rather cute. If they don't think IT is going to eat them, it being anything that moves or is within their range of sensory, they will eat it, and destroy anything not scary enough to them, raking up vet bills when they hurt themselves, something they are very good at doing.
Horses are not stupid!!! No other animal could carry a person and jump a range of different obstacles like horses do! You obviously dont understand or own any.
V.nice horse playing with what looks to be a part off his rug. Its amazing, now there are toys available to buy that can be hung up in stables to keep them busy
I cannot respect the intelligence of an animal that gets so freaked out by a fucking trash bag blowing in the wind 100 yards away. Or some strange noise.
"It's going to eat me." Time to freak out, tense up, buck off and paralyze the rider and injure myself in the process, striking up a 150K vet bill. Oh, wait, it was just a passing car. Oh well. Back to my normal stage of trying to get out of all work, taking shits and eating 24/7.
The intelligence of the horse can not be questioned. They have far more advanced senses than us, they can sense when a rider is tence. While eventing especially they can judge the height and width of the jumps - and they are even preparing for the next jump ahead.
Only a small number of horses will react like that, these are animals that have been mis-treated as young stock.
Any properly trained horse will not react to an object moving 100yards away.
I was raised with horses. I rode, cleaned up after, helped train and even helped bring one into this world. I know about horses. I have dealt with them for quite some time. My mother is a genius animal trainer, specifically with horses. Every horse she has ever worked with is the same. A bundle of nervous energy that is always trying to get out of work and find SOME way to injure themselves. My mother has been hurt by them before by no fault of her own. It was the stupid goddamn horse.
And if you are talking about instinct, all animals have that type of spacial analysis. Especially prey. It has absolutely noting to do with intelligence at all.
Intelligence has everything to do the senses - they go hand-in-hand. Intelligence is the way they understand and they understand through the use of their senses, like seeing, smelling, touch etc
I still have such a love of this animal that I am studying it in University
How embarrassingly wrong you are. Intelligence and instinct are two completely different things.
Look at amoebas. I don't think even you would call those little things intelligent. Yet they swim around, totally clueless of their own existence, and will react to danger, strive to survive and replicate. Horses, or just about any other living creature are no different. Instinct has nothing to do with intelligence. Explain to me how you think it is if you still think so.
I have seen mistreated horses. Worked with one to. BTW, not professionally... I dislike them too much. My mother deals with them, and I'm in the middle. I learn a few things along the way. I eventually learned without fault that a horse has got to be the stupidest animal on the fucking planet. There is no excuse for an animal that big and powerful to be so scared of everything.
I also have been raised with horses. My father has had brood mares long before I was born. So I have been riding since I was 3 so in later years I have been the one who was put on the 3yr olds to break-in so I know only too-well how nervous they can be - resulting in numerous broken bones. But every horse is different, different temperments and personalities and they all react different to different stimilus - Just because one spooked at a dog barking does not mean another will.
Further more, Amoebae are living organisms but they have very little in common with mammals other than the way the cell functions. Amoeba dont even replicate like mammals do! They replicate asexually. Horses have a brain, nerves - sensory organs.
Now, I do believe it is you who is left with the red face.
Haha, changing your story now, are we? My, this is fun.
But take note- we're ceasing to hold an intelligent debate and this is growing into a mudsling. And careful... I am a master mudslinger. Comes with the n00b hunting. By all means, keep responding, but this is going nowhere. You can prove to me your maturity by not responding anymore. Or, we can keep at it and see who stops first, because we all know the one who stops first looses. :P
And fucking DUH, amoebae are not mammals. But the instinct they have as far as drives is the same for any living creature. Survive. For horses, it's being as stupid and skittish as physically possible, and freaking out at everything. That's how they survive. My beef with the powerful fuckers is that they've been in captivity for how many centuries? It should have been bred out. But they're too stupid.
What else is there... Shit, I'm fresh out of ideas. Got anything else? O.o
I am not changing my story! Like I said before - Im not saying that intelligence is Instinct, Intelligence is aquired and instinct is inherited. And I didnt say that amoebae were mammals either!
YOU are questioning MY maturity when you are the one that does no have the vocabulary to refrain from swearing?
And I think we should finnish this because this person who posted this clip hardly wants all this 'mudslinging' attached to their video.

Instinct - in born tendency to behave in a certain way.
Intelligence - able to understand, learn and think think things.
Sense - the ability to perceive through one of the sences - practical judgement or Intelligence.
