@camaroracer454 I have lived in Kannapolis my entire life of nearly 20 years. Kannapolis is developing quickly but it still has small town feel to it. If you want stuff to do like shopping (Concord Mills, Carolina Mall), entertainment (Charlotte Motor Speedway), it is all located in close proximity to Kannapolis. Where are you moving from?
@GISMapter I am going to school for high performance else where, but will be moving to the area to try and pursue a career in motorsports, so I'de have to be close to the Mooresville area. It seems like Mooresville has alot of development and transplants. I consider my self country and would like to live in a true southern area, if that makes sense. So thats why I was considering some towns away from that area, such as Salisbury, it seems like that town hasnt had too much of a boom yet.
@camaroracer454 Kannapolis & Mooresville are very similar in development as they are both under the influence of Charlotte and located adjacent to interstates (Mooresville's I-77, Kannapolis's I-85). Salisbury still has development since it's located adjacent to I-85 but to get to Mooresville from Salisbury, take NC 150 (takes ~35 mins) which travels through rural country. Traveling from Kannapolis to Mooresville, take NC 3 (takes ~30 mins) which also travels through rural country.
@GISMapter Yeah that makes sense. I hope it states rural in those areas. Like you said, its nice to have a decent economy and not an abandoned mill town but if you take away all its history and rural land, it won't produce the friendly southern folk it had been known to produce.
I don't think anyone wants to come to Kannapolis

@squidgetpj92 I feel it would be better for our community to be a mini Charlotte than a deserted mill town or ghost town.

@camaroracer454 Unfortunately, Murdock did not have a conservative mindset. At least Kannapolis still has the Gem Theatre.

@GISMapter Oh = /, what town do you live in (I assume here but you never know)
I plan on moving down to this area soon, but wanted to try and stay away from the huge development areas, wast thinking around Salisbury.
