I agree that monetary gains should not have a say in the question of the morality of an action, but they should have a factor in deciding on legislation. Sometimes the most moral actions are not necessarily the actions that we should be following.
I gave up completely on Tim a while back. His ignorance knows no bounds and my nine-year-old could debate him into the ground. Now I won't even acknowledge him.
in his video response he has a comment that says homosexuality is no longer punishable by death but in the video he quotes jesus when jesus says that the law is still valid. amazing how contradictory christians can be
Doesn’t the engine compartment have gold lining and the car comes with its own tool kit? Is it also a three seated? with the driver in the center just a bit forward of the two other seats? I also heard they only make around three hundred a year?
I have heard that the death penilty is more money in the end after all the appeals?
I had a boyfriend that I broke up with because he would drive ten Km under all the time he had a Charger
@christinepeace You are thinking of the McLaren F1. All is true of the F1, except there were only 160 ever made. It took 3 months to make one. The Lamborgini Countach was produced at a rate of 3 per week. In the US, putting someone on death row, and executing that person costs more than it takes to keep them in prison for life, on average.
i agree with your position on the chargers of youtube. its one of the reasons i have had no video making ambition all year. i hope the move i am about to do will change that
and where did the underwear on head tag come from?
@dprjones 1) Life is the most valuable thing I can think of. 2) I can't think of a way to make sure an innocent man would lose his life due to a wrongful conviction. In fact, it has happened. Thus: Since there is no way to make sure that we would never kill an innocent man (taking away the most important thing from him, wrongly) then I can't agree that removing the life from guilty men is worth the cost. I know it isn't the most common reason.
What’s the punishment for how those cars make me feel?
Adultery= death. Ray Comfort and Kirk Cameron are Screwed. They consider looking upon a person that is not your spouse in a lustful way as committing adultery in ones heart and admit doing it to scare their random mind-fuck victims on the street in their vids. It's just as bad in gods eyes as the physical act. Although they would probably admit that, the physical sex act is "a bit more” enjoyable than their thought crime version.
@Mahoivlich The McLaren F1 is the all time greatest super car ever made. I was going to use it, but want to save that for a later video. I'd marry that car.
This entire video gives the reason that i paused making videos. ill be starting up again around october after a much needed respite. Great video greg.
Suppose the million dollars you mention to do the right thing has to come from somewhere, like other people (which it does). It seems to me that extracting that money from innocent people and NOT spending it where it could benefit the most people in need would counter any morality gained by doing the right thing. Thus, you are doing far worse by taking that money in the first place. So money IS an issue to consider wrt morality.
@ProportionalResponse I have not yet taken a side on the death penalty issue. I do, however, disagree with your notion that money is no object as long as we do the right thing. In Canadian hospitals, we spend over a million dollars on a single person who often doesn't appreciate it, and I can't help but wonder how many lives that money could have saved. But instead, we prolong the life one entitled old grouch. Prisons would have a similar problem: the money is drained from the more deserving ppl
I believe that the person one makes a video to is not one's intended audience. Instead the audience is everyone watching the conversation. I believe that there should always be someone keeping people, like those you mentioned, in check. There are those who are on the moderate path who are considering a fundamental path, we should try to make sure there are clear road signs for those that stray to come back to the middle. Well, with a minimal number of videos I mean.
I agree for the most part but not everyone makes videos about certain individuals to change their minds. Sometimes they make videos about these people to educate others and also there's the entertainment factor. Sometimes a train wreck is fascinating to watch, so to speak.
I can't stop laughing at the paused shot of you with those on your head!!! XD
Seriously though, well said good sir! You are certainly one of those who inspires me, just as much as Shayrah, Richie, and others. It's people like you and all those you mentioned fondly in this video that I wish would give me feedback to the types of questions I pose to my own audience when I don't know the answer to something. By way of example, and I do honestly hope for your consideration...
@ugoodHomeBoy I like books. I like having the books there, so I can use them without needing to go to the library. Many I've read over and over, or use them a lot when writing. You think that is a lot, you should see the 120GB of music I have. or my sock drawer.
Excellent point concerning time spent beating a dead horse. I've been trying to adjust the way I interact with other users here on YouTube. While sometimes a thumbs up (or down) is really the only response, most of the time, there is something more we can all add to the discussion if we'll only take the time to do so.
I recently got a PM that told me my videos literally changed the way they think about others. That's what I'm hoping to do from here on out: be a Bugati, not a Charger. Take care.
@XandarsMeteor I have had PMs like that before. They humble me. I've made videos before, then watched them, and deleted them so I can remake it a second time, because of that. Makes you want to be better.
You don't do it for them. You do it for the people who are watching. By being better than them you show those who are watching that it is possible to be better.
Interesting perspective. I notice that there are certain Youtubers who update and I just automatically watch and others who update and I don't immediatly jump to their channels. It's not that they're bad it's just that I'm not as eager. It also depends on my mood though.
Don't forget that the audience of a debate can benefit much more than the actual participants (particularly if the debate is focused on an issue less absurd and more controversial than whether or not adulterers should be put to death).
i would like to point out that the way it is today in the american system , it actually costs more to put someone to death, that to imprison him for life,,,,just saying
I find it completely hilarious to hear Christians (or Muslims) talk about "objective" morality existing. Not only is there no objective definition of their god (as in they all have different conceptions of that god, at least in Christianity) but his supposed commands are neither perceived nor followed objectively.
To be a true Christian, the word of the bible must be the law of Yahweh/Jesus, end of story, no equivocation. Anything less is just a slow slide to atheism, which is awesome.
hmm yea to be fundamentalist.. many liberal religious ppl tend to not focus on this kind of stuff. they put more emphasis on using their beliefs to help others. Sooo to be honest. I think the atheist community specifically on youtube tends to come from families that are very fundamentalist. Not everyone, but I noticed a lot of youtube users do, and have admitted this themselves. I dunno. Not all are like this though. atheism is interesting. secular humanism i prefer more
best way to deal with fundamentalist is just to leave them alone, though atleast in the US they're becoming more intrusive. stepping into everyone elses social territory.
@lordblazer I'm going to disagree only slightly. I was a seeker and that's what got me to shed my belief in god, but if atheists just "left me alone" when I started talking and started asking questions, I might still be stuck back where I was. Calm, cool discussion can change minds. Cheers.
I think the purpose of discourse is fine man. But the world isn't as black and white. I'm not atheist btw, and I am speaking out against fundamentalism. Soooo I dunno. I guess for you atheist allowed you to get out of a negative point in life. I never really had that experience of being in a fundamentalist family, but I have met a few that always well quite piss me off. I will agree with you, but to be honest only people who realize something isn't right gets out of it
@lordblazer I can respect that stance. My atheism came from years of questioning everything I was taught. For many years I was simply a theist as I threw off the fundamentalism in which I was raised so I could ignore all the b.s. I was taught as a child and experience life. But all through that time, I still thought that there was a possibility that what I was taught was the truth. Slowly, I found that I couldn't accept even the basest of arguments for god(s). It took time and patience.
So, you're saying that if somebody wants you inside them...they must strive to be like the Acura. Got it. I'll work on getting past the Charger phase.
Adultery is not a crime. If both adults are consenting of course. The idea that marriage is a contract enforced by government, is down right ridiculous, and I find it hard to believe that many people still submit to such lunacy. Then again, creationists still exist.
The death penalty costs more than lifetime incarceration (mainly due to extra legal costs). However, I think you too quickly discarded the broader assertion of monetary gains being a justification. This is because the money can be used to save lives, and a little goes a long way in places like Somalia right now. Life-saving oral rehydration salts cost like 20 cents per child. But whether the government would ever use the savings in a half decent way is a different question.
@wideosvatcher "the Peace symbol is a broken upside down cross in a circle."
You have been reading too much Christian propaganda. You should look up the real history behind the peace symbol. It has nothing to do with religion. However, it is easy to understand why Christians would be against the peace sign.

One time I was in an argument with a Christian about whether Eve ate a magical apple or a supernatural apple. He said I had made a mistake calling it a magical apple and it was a supernatural apple. So my question to you PR is: Is your underwear magical or supernatural?
I just feel like some Christians are doing mental gymnastics to justify their "agreement" and endorsement with a God/Text that condones the killing of people for stupid shit. The Bible says it, so they have to try and find ways to either agree completely or separate themselves from the stuff that is "bad". In essence, what occurs is a lot of mixed messages and wishy-washy answers from certain Christians.
also, good video with excellent points. I feel the same way about youtube channels, expect I would add that there are some users who, when I watch their videos, I leave feeling like I've just been run over by a dodge charger.
