Ok, but you miss my point. Yeah, Edwards played up his marriage and family life. But he didn't hold it or himself up as the paragon of "family values", nor did he insist that his "family values" were the only "family values" and that others need not apply.

Unlike the gop, Edwards wasn't running on domestic morality, he was running on social and economic morality: he was most concerned about the growing gap between rich and poor.
