There's absolutely nothing wrong with his voice, nor with the band. This is a pretty decent rock version. He maybe has strange pronunciation, but the color of his voice is pretty good and diction is also ok. I don't see why all the fuss... All in all I like it.

This songs' original is amazing and I think it is a very important song one that will be timeless. This version explores a different poignancy than the original and forces me to look at things in a different way supported by the brilliant visuals on its accompanying video. for me it reinvents a song I thought I knew what it was about, I now realise I only know my understanding.

1) this version has been recorded in 1997 and was (afaik) the first metal cover of this song (and this one is by far better than Atrocity´s version, while Paradise Lost did the best job).

2) the singer sounds like this since their first album (First Depression) from 1992. This was one year BEFORE Type 0 Negative became famous with their Bloody Kisses album.

3) Depressive Age (together with Anacrusis) were the best bands wrt Melancholic Thrash. It´s a pity they don´t exist any more (this is even more true for Anacrusis)...
