  • aw... he almost had the USA ;_;

  • I WENT AWW... poor brain

  • That was amazing, by the way.

  • Fantasia, the Sorcerer's Apprentice.

  • 8:03 Pinky again.

  • 7:52 Yes, Pinky.

  • what happen to the pinky and the brain after this clip?

  • @maxlego2000 They finished their own series at episode 65.

  • nostalgic

  • @fNelHaLibE so true

  • SO CLOSE

  • 4:06 Pinky's reaction is priceless!! :D

  • Awww Brain was about to rule the world this time

  • @ProdigyStepper in one of the movies they use tiny robots to take over earth. sound familiar?

  • warner bros. parodied disney, and disney got them back by ripping this off in kim possile. disney is bad at that game

  • @aczom2 how did they do that? i have seen every episode of kim posible and never noticed one.

  • @aczom2 Disney is composed of nothing but a bunch of sore losers and spoilsports, in other words?

    Agreed. XD

  • Why as he so mad? Just turn the thing back on and make some more!

  • This is a reference to the sorcerer's apprentice, yes, but not necessarily disney... Disney's fantasia is a reference to Goethe's ballad of the same title...

  • i wanna know who would have that much cheese...

  • P+B make a lot of references, sometimes subtle and other times blatant. very cleverely done, but sadly this all just goes over the heads of young kids, they dont understand how funny it is. brains dry sens of humor prob goes unnoticed

  • Only if Brain teamed up with Stewie...

  • @u2suave I dunno. I doubt Brain would be content to stop at merely killing Lois. ;)

  • 02:07 is a parody of the English movie: The Snow Man.

    Rasclart!

  • mickey mouse had such an extreme sense of deja vu that he missed the like button, but i forgive him.

  • the president almost gave up dude...hahah...

  • the robot is so cute!

  • i HAVE to say i always knew it would be Pinky that actually would succeed at the whole 'world dominince' thing. :)

  • @OceanPrincess88 ther's arumor going around that obama is pinky in disguise.but they have yet to prove it

  • Wow, this is amazing. Maybe I should do something like this someday.

  • If only Brain had teamed up with invader zim, mandark, and mandy. They would've made a formidable team! And BRAIN WAS SOOOOO CLOSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • lol, that's the closest Brain ever got to ruling the world, and he blew it at the last second :p

  • @TheGuardianofAzarath And it wouldn't be for the last time, either...

  • oddly, despite it's age, the president bears more than a passing resemblance to obama...hmmm

  • @LuciferLightbringer He's white and has brown hair styled backward...

But other than THAT, oh yea, the spitting image of Obama! LOL

Poor Brain...he came this close to taking over the world AND therefore taking over Mickey Mouse and his Magic Brooms, and he blew it...

The only way this could be any more heartbreaking would be if he were a Chicago Cubs fan...

  • This is for mii Vanilla!! Lol

  • This is the best pinky and the brain video ever, these little robots are so kawaï, I want my own army <3

Spanishdiva you know, people much older than you love animaniacs, and I can understand why, the whole work is undoubtly part of the most awesome cartoons collection ever =].

  • Comment removed

  • OMG 21 years old and watching pinky and the brain. I am not ashamed, if anything it brings back many mamories. Wy cant cartoons like this one still exist? These were so amazing.

  • OMG 21 years old and watching this brings back so many memories. Why cant cartoons like this one still be around for kids today. These cartoons we amazing!!!

  • The sorcerers apprentice. Awesome

  • aw poor brain he was so close

  • Alexander Haig, ahahaha

  • Brains face at 8:55.... *cries*

  • 8:55 made me depressed.

  • The Brain did not listen to Pinky, he could have really taken over the world.

  • It IS the music from fantasia, I KNEW IT SOUNED FAMILIAR

  • Why can't brain just turn the switch back on?

  • Wait, no words? SHIT.

  • This pretty much demonstrates why old cartoons were brilliant. This segment is not just a reference to the Sorcerer's Apprentice segment from Fantasia, it's an extremely faithful scene by scene translation of the entire segment from beginning to end. Today's cartoons would never even dare to do something like that.

Nor would they dare produce anything like the "Yes, Always!" episode. (Even the series writer admitted it amounted to an expensive in-joke)

  • @NerissaVal oH but Every person who knew who Orson Welles was Laughed their fucking asses off. Admittedly as a youth I NEVER WOuld have gotten that joke but now that i"m Older I appreciate it. "Yes, I'm always past that..."

  • @NerissaVal This isn't really a testament to old cartoons, so much as it is to how awesome Animaniacs was. Sure, it was from the 90s, but so was a whole lot of garbage cartoons. :P

Every decade has plenty of great shows, and every decade has people who rant about how much better things were when they were kids. Doesn't mean that your time was actually better.

I say this as a guy who grew up in the 90s, among things like Animaniacs, Batman TAS, and SWAT Kats, I know what I'm talking about

  • That's why these shows were funny, because they were so weird looking before you actually sat down and watched them that you didn't expect them to have much intellectual relevance but even 9 year olds say Pinky would be smarter than Barrack Obama. Turns out it's true in The Pink Candidate, lmao.

  • Poor Brain. :(

  • THe bots look like mini clanks...

  • Back in the day, I got 2 Rats form my science teacher and one was a albino lab rat and one was a hooded rat. So I named them Pinkey and the Brain. they where good pets

  • sorcerer's apprentice.... not wizard's apprentice... sorcerer's.

  • is it just me or does the animation on this episode seem different from the others?

  • This is actually a pretty cool parody of "The Wizards Apprentice" from Fantasia.

  • NOBODY did better parodies than the WB network lol. South Park and Family Guy come pretty close but I actually enjoy these old shows as much as adult swim.

  • This cartoon is epic. PATB Rule.

  • This is cute! I love the part where Pinky makes the robot imitate whatever Pinky does.

  • I love this short!

  • Aww brain almost did it!

  • lmao that killed me the look on Brain's face when he saw the tv XD

  • Also have you noticed that Pinky's face is very reminiscent to Goofy's here? In this episode anyhow since its a parody on Disney, I mean with the teeth and and snout

  • 7:26 was probably a reference to Fantasia'a TSA (although yes this is a parody)

But when Pinky at 7:26 does his innocent grin, that's probably a reference to Mickey in Fantasia when he gives the hat back to the sorcerer

  • anyway, i love this episode though.

  • what's going on? I clicked 'sound of warners' and got redirected to this vid.

  • Yes, indeed.

And so many others prefer 'Scooby Doo,' to which I will not attach further comment.

  • Ah, the simple genius of Pinky and the Brain. You can't find quality like that nowadays!

  • Poor Brain!

Why don't they ever re-try failed plans ? weird flux can't happen all the time! XD lol

  • @OverlordMake --Actually, they have...Brain even complains in one episode that they are simply rehashing old ideas that bombed the first time and auditions people to pitch new world domination ideas to him. He hated them all.

I wonder if Dr. Drakken's Diablo 'bot scheme in KIM POSSIBLE's "So the Drama" was cribbed from this short? Ironically, Moe LaMarche voiced the cryptic and annoying Big Daddy Brotherson in that movie, using essentially the same voice he did for Brain.

  • @HaggisMcCrablice I see, but what episode was that? Doesn't ring a bell !

  • @OverlordMake -- "Brain Drain".

  • Ain't you ever hear the phrase "the pen is mightier than the sword?

  • This is just like Fantasia's The Sorcerer's Apprentice

  • it's supposed to be a parody of it

  • Was this made partially because of the fact that both Pinky and Mickey happen to be mice?

  • if bian would let pinky speak about the news, before he switched off tehn teh series woudl end their :P

ive noticed taht there ar emore plans where pinky and the brain where almost sucessfull in the Animaniacs sketch while their own TV show..meh not much

  • omg i luv th lips

  • R.I.P. Richard Stone

  • Animaniacs was the last cartoon to capture the spirit of the old Warner Bros. shorts. Pure golden genius.

  • Kawaï ! <3

  • ah, now i get it.

    The Apprentice by Goethe.

    Uh, i am slow :D

  • or The Smurf's Apprentice...lol NARF. dont feel bad that was what I thought of at first.

  • probably to me, the darkest PATB short I seen

  • poor brain lol

  • I think Pinky or the brain is being like Mickey Mouse in this cartoon

  • STRAND VCI VERSION

Alicen, Pichul, Henry, Santos, Andrew, Sierra

    STRND HOME VIDEO

    Alicen, Pichu, Joseph, Andrew, Sierra

  • ahhh nooo brain it was in your grasp! why? why ? why? man I know that I always wanted him to take over the world when I was a kid

  • i would've liked it better if they actually just voiced it.

  • What a huge irony, that Brain's moronic accomplice came closer to taking over the world than he ever did and that Brain stopped him.

  • And to think that Pinky did it by accident, where as Brain has to plan everything.

  • SO COOL :D

  • I love this episode.

  • is it supposed to only have the music and no vocies did rop and maurice call in sick that day? and they went with the music only? i liked those little robots tho!

  • I think its a reference to that Mickey Mouse Fantasia thing With the Mops.

  • @mattfoley99

god damn it, that is kinda sad.

The Mop thing in Fantasia was taken from the relativley wildley known Goethe Poem "Der Zauberlehrling".

  • @mattfoley99

by the way, thats why this episode is called 'The Brain's apprentice' (instead of 'The sorceres apprentice = Der Zauberlehring)

  • @mattfoley99 HURP DURRR

  • @mattfoley99 OHHHHH YOU THINK? I HAD NO WAY TO FIGURE THAT OUT ON MY OWN*COUGH**COUGH*

  • @islagkage15963 Yes because everything is centered around you. If you look at the context within the commetnts you'd see that I'm responding to a person who asked why there was no voice acting in this episode.

Fair enough though. I can see how that just makes me seem like an arrogant prick.

    Enjoy the video though.

  • @mattfoley99 its not that the im egocentered its just that. its a little captain obivous to the rescue. saying what you said.

because just about everyone have watched the sorcerers apprentice. and the theme is the same the tittle is almost the sme the music is pretty much the same.

and i don´t see a @(insertnamehere) anywhere on the first comment. but that is not the point the point is that this is entertainment and not something to start a flame war over

  • @islagkage15963 NO THIS IT THE INTERNETZ EVERYTHINGZ IMPORTANTZ.

Yeah Fair enough I forgot to put a "reply".

and I agree captain obvious statement. AT least you were respectful.....as opposed to doing stupid Carlos Mencia references.

    But yeah entertainment. Great show.

  • @mattfoley99 its called brains apprentice (sorcerers apprentice)the music is from fantasia..its an awesome parody on Fantasia!!Morning...

  • @timmihendrix1 again I say I know this. I was responding (though I didn't hit "reply") to someone who didn't get that.

I franky wish people hadn't "Liked" it so much so I have to get all these comments>

    But yeah..>Thanks though

  • @mattfoley99 -- Well you know, Fantasia's "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" is not a Disney original. It is a well-known classical work, as is most of the music in Fantasia (old versions or newer versions). I consider this to be pretty much a genius adaptation of the Sorcerer's Apprentice.

  • @livingpicture Ah see Didn't know that. As I've said Before: Wish people woudln't rate that comment up.

I believe what you say but I felt like the music made it a fantasia allusion. However its a possibility that they took from the original while maintaining music from the "fantasia" Sketch.

  • @mattfoley99 Yes it is, hence the title. The bit from Fantasia with the mops is called "The Sorcerer's Apprentice."

  • @mattfoley99 might be... -_-

  • cccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooLLLLLLLLLLL

  • Oh, he's supposed to look like that. If you've seen "The Sorceror's Apprentice", you'd know.

  • I love the Startoons animation in this.

  • The robots are cool I want one! (or maybe enough to take over the world)

  • Dang...Brain looks evil with black rimmed eyes and all.

  • Could be an animation mistake. In that scene, Brain was significantly off model.

  • If only Brain had paid attention to what Pinky had accomplished on the TV, he would've been able to dominate America, then plan for the sequel, where he would use the robots to try to take over the rest of the world, to Dvorak's New World Symphony.

Of course, in Wakko's Wish, Brain becomes one step closer to ruling the world, as Prime Minister of Warnerstock.
