I admire the regular army from Germany during that time (not the SS or any death squads, the actual fighting soldiers). they had real guts and bravery, and knew how to fight untill the end even though the US would clearly win. They were also one of the better trained and equiped armies of that war, and fought very well. If the US didn't get involved the Soviets would have simply rolled right across Europe. The only thing the Americans really did was spare more nations from becoming Soviet states. If you look at the numbers involved, American contributions were pretty meager. Remember, around 80% of the ground forces Germany lost were lost fighting the USSR.

All things being equal the soviets were committing the same sorts of crimes in their eventual invasion of germany. the eastern front was a blood feud of sorts and I didn't mean to imply atrocities didnt take place. Only to point out that Wehrmacht does not equal Nazi beyond guilt by association. Even at the "peak" of Nazi power in later 1941 only a third of the Wehrmacht officer corps were party members.

I admire the regular army from Germany during that time (not the SS or any death squads, the actual fighting soldiers). they had real guts and bravery, and knew how to fight untill the end even though the US would clearly win. They were also one of the better trained and equiped armies of that war, and fought very well. I am not saying I support what they fought for and nazi germany, im just commenting on the normal soldier who fought against the overwhelming odds of that time.

@popper504 That's certainly possible. After Stalin realized Japan was not going to invade it freed up a lot of soldiers to use against the Germans.
If the US didn't get involved the Soviets would have simply rolled right across Europe. The only thing the Americans really did was spare more nations from becoming Soviet states. If you look at the numbers involved, American contributions were pretty meager. Remember, around 80% of the ground forces Germany lost were lost fighting the USSR.

Does dante55 know he used Schindler's Liste music in the middle of the vedio, from 2: 28 minutes on for about two minutes? I agree that the music fits the scene very well, I was in tears watching those doomed men killing each other and to be killed. However, I still think dante55 will not use that piece of music if he knew the origin. Anyone knows the title of the last piece of chore?

By the mid of 1943 Nazi German tactics became just an old crap. Blitzkrieg was obsoleted due to massive production of tank destroyers. Mania to produce weapons larger and larger completely screwed Nazi German weapons production and resource management. Most of prototypes Germans were working on were nothing more then a dream which did not work at all. At a result Nazi army was 90% of feet solders equipped with obsolete rifles and a few modern weapons used mostly for propaganda.

Standard procedure of Blitzkrieg( one word ;) ) was lightning warfare. The killing of jews was carried out by death squads, Gestapo, and such. This was not planned by commissioned military officers. In all the books i have read not one of them said wehrmacht officers planned and directed the roundabout and killing of jews.

The Wehrmacht did kill civilians, and so did the French, the British, the Italians, the Americans, and the Japanese. Just as the Luftwaffe carried out the London Blitz, so too did the RAF and the American Air Force firebomb Tokyo, Dresden, and Hamburg. This is called total war. The crime is that perspective is dictated by the winner.

2) 6 million Poles were killed by Germans during the war

All things being equal the soviets were committing the same sorts of crimes in their eventual invasion of germany. the eastern front was a blood feud of sorts and I didn't mean to imply atrocities didnt take place. Only to point out that Wehrmacht does not equal Nazi beyond guilt by association. Even at the "peak" of Nazi power in later 1941 only a third of the Wehrmacht officer corps were party members.

But I don't think you can deny that killing 6 million Jews is tough to top. Stalin and the pig Mau Se Tung might be equals. @tiberiousss Yes, he simply led a nation which absorbed many unwilling members in USSR,and then slaughtered then at will. So many millions died in USSR before WW2, have you ever cried for them, or does 100% of your effort go against Germany?

@ArturAxmann Well friend your making much more sense these days. Maybe your medication finally kicked in. Millions died in the soviet union I think were all aware of what butchers the communist were. No denying that. Nor have I ever denied other atrocities committed by other nations throughout the centuries. My interests lie world war 2. Thus my attraction to videos such as this one. Plus I had family who served during the war. One saw quite a bit of action in Italy.

@ArturAxmann The difference between what happen in the USSR and what happen in Germany was Germany went into other countries to wipe out the population. Although millions died in the soviet union at the hands of the communist, it all took place internally within the confines of the USSR. doesn't make it okay, it simply is what it is.
