Since discovering this band I play them every day. utterly beautiful songs and playing. Great to hear them talking about it all but a little worrying that the record company guy doesn't "get" their bluegrass influences. Not surprising that someone who feels he has to tell us he's a Jew also doesn't like gospel music. Hopefully his prejudices won't get in the way of the earth making their own magic.
This is coming from a fan of the band for around 8 years, a musician, and whose favorite album of all time is "Bird in a house".
I like some of the new album but it sounds like the producer and CEO are moving them away from acoustic. I got news, they already did great albums. If Michael Caplan doesn't like acoustic music, why did he sign an acoustic band? Mike Partridge, please engineer the next album and please have the band solely produce themselves again or find a decent producer.
