  • Thank you so much for your video. I will try this out soon! (^^)

  • Hmmm you are suppose to add the salt to the flour because the salt can kill the yeast and/or slow down the rising process! Don't add salt directly to the sugar water yeast mixture....add it to the dry flour mixture

  • very informative - thank you.

  • NO SUGAR!! The French don't add sugar to their food, it's just one of our nasty American habits. Just give it time to rise without the sugar, this isn't fast food!

    Somebody stop the insanity!

  • Remember French bread is from France ha ha ha lol

  • cute

  • question about those canisters: are those recycled coffee cans? i love that idea!

  • thanks for the video! i've been nervously wanting to try to make my own bread. that way, i can make it more often! (and with us trying to make ends meet, $1.50/bread IS too expensive! besides, i like KNOWING what went into the recipe!)

  • Thanks for posting. I have got to try this. :-)

  • I think Ill just stick with buying the loafes at Wal-Mart for a dollar.

  • Id do er

  • are you wearing one of those whitening strips or something? You sound like Sylvester.

  • @bluediemond i thought so, too, at first (that she was wearing whitening strips), but i started noticing it's the sound quality. when the sound is clearer, she doesn't have that "tin" sound as much.

  • nice

  • No offense, but save us the superfluous historical anecdote.

  • Cutie, thanks for taking the time to do this Americans knead (get it!) to be stop eating the crap bread from supermarkets and wise up to what REAL bread is. Don't know what 'All Purpose' flour is, kinda sounds nasty.... Any STRONG flour will do i.e. at least 12% protein.

  • @rockandrope The worldwide obesity average is lower than America's obesity average, so I hate all of this damn "Americans are fat" bull shit. Do you know who's fat? Germany. Go punch a German.

  • french started in france? you don't say?

  • are you kidding 2 tbl. of yeast or did i hear wrong

  • Buying it at the store? lol

  • co2 is a type of air so you don't have to correct him.

  • it doesnet make air it makes CO2 LOL :P

  • You said "put 2 tablespoons of yeast in" but you only put one in...?

  • @capnbly7 maybe she used a meauring spoon which measured two tbs

  • @arsalan34 it says 1 :p

  • @arsalan34 that's what i'm thinking, too. but i'd love if someone who *knows* would let us know! LOL

  • @capnbly7 Yeah, it's only 1 tbsp of yeast.. anymore than that would make the dough taste like crap...unless you like a yeasty bread...

  • Can an Englishman make French Bread, I mean is it ethicla for him to do that?

  • The yeast and sugar do not make air when mixed, I believe it is carbon dioxide.

  • you r awesome...thanks for the vids.

  • way too much yeast ..............real french bread is made from a levain which contains only minute yeast amounts, americans cannot make french bread! sorry!

  • It depends what kind of yeast she is using. But, yeah, it does seem like too much. I use only one teaspoon per pound of bread flour. That works for me.

  • Oh, so because she uses too much yeast means that all Americans do too? Idiot.

  • I'de like to know why some of my videos hesitate and some don't. Anyone else have that problem?

  • Reason is that your internet speed is too slow, same thing happens to me, contact your service provider to speed it up! Good luck

  • you are awesome!

  • Nice work, we liked your video very much so we embedded it on ChefCommons w/ link back and reference to Youtube. (Let us know if you don't wish for it to be featured)

  • Not air, CO2. Fermentation. Also, you use too much sugar. Way too much sugar. Half that, at least.

  • Great video :)

  • Wondering if you put 2Tabls. of yeast in ? I only saw you add 1 Tabls. I enjoy your watching your videos, they're very informative!
