  • parece pistola de los power rangers xD

  • I don't really get the point of discussing a video camera with all the features dedicated to video shooting and on scene audio capture with a camera that offers video recording on an option, yes, the video quality is "good" but its a camera designed to take pictures, not video, and impossible to compare to a video camera, I'm not even going into discussing models, thats another flame.

Besides, video shooting on the 7d burns the sensor a lot faster, compared to any video camera.

  • @tunespt

Burns the sensor? Is that true? Is that a proved fact?

  • The 7D is a fantastic choice for video, and it shoots amazing pictures. You can't do that with the XH-AIs. I have the XL2 and would LOVE a Canon HD video camera, but for the price of a standalone DSLR as WELL as an HD camcorder, it's a good investment. Extra gear will set you back at least $1000, though (mics, audio recorder, batteries, cards, etc)

  • @troutbum86 thanks

it took me a while but i found out that eos 7d is not the choice for video...

xl h1s is just great, i'm not a pro so xl h1s is the way to start... the only thing to think is that xl h1s doesnt change lenses and it records on hdv...

    other than that is great!

  • will it fit sony camcorder hdr-sr11

  • can ya put a fisheye lens on the z7e?

  • i'm sure pretty anything can be attached on this one as long the attaching ring is the same mm to fit on the camera...

  • @MortallicA91 I dont like the z7 anymore... HDV sucks!

  • lol i'm glad to learn new things... but what makes you say that? what format do you like?

i must be pretty sure before i'll buy my camera...

i'm thinking about canon xl h1s

  • @MortallicA91 The format you would like to go for is H264 . Why? Because H264 can deliver the same picture quality as the MPEG2 from this camera with a 30% or 50% lower bitrate. The camera I want to buy is canon EOS 7D, it might seem like a stupid idea because it doesent look as professional, but it shoots 58 Mbits/s H264 video! that is 3x more quality then the one from the z7 or the canon xl ... :)

  • hmm your point is good...

but EOS 7D records in the internal hard disc and/or in flash memories...

it's not enough for videos... EOS 7D is better for still photos... video cameras have more control over video...

it sounds odd to me to buy a photo camera for video... it doesnt give you enough control over framerates, and other video stuff...

xl h1s or any other camcorder gives you the opportunity to record sound on xl inputs instantly changing dphilters and more...

  • i'm not pro neither good, i'm noob cause it is about 3-4 months i'm learning about cameras, but i think video cameras chips gives you better quality on videos...

  • @MortallicA91 Dude rly, Why to pay 2-3 times more and get 2-3 times less quality? I know the EOS 7D doesent have much of a framerate control (1920x1080 in 25 ,24, 30 fps, and 1280x720 in 60 fps) but you can put mics and everything onto it, change lenses etc. Thats what I tried to point out in my last comment- its not the name of the camera that matters! It might look out like its only good for photos, but once you use it for recording, amazing.... Believe me u make a mistake if u buy xl!

  • check this out :)

    read what the man says...

there good but also bad things about those DSLRs...

i'm not arguing with you!!! i'm just looking to spent my money in something good... so it helps me talking with you ;)

    take care :)

  • oh i forgot the link :D

    vimeo . com/6885596

  • @MortallicA91 whatever,I havent got any artifacts while using the camera or editing it. It is perfect, and 58 Mbits/s H264 is just an epic number! In your canons language, thats over 80 Mbits/s datarate compared to the 24 Mbits/s . Maybe find a friend who has the camera and ask how is to use it, what can you do with it and is it worth the price!Of course the big camera looks more epic and cool but once you put your big lenses and matteboxes and follow focuses on your 7D,

  • @MortallicA91 you can shoot very professional video! of course the artifacts may come because of a wrong SD card , bad import etc. It might be the users fault. Anyways Ive used it and it has great low light performance, u can get really high ISO and still have a normal shutter with it. + THE ZOMGFOMGRFGHRGYRG BITRATE! :O

  • @MortallicA91 hey just google MPEG2 vs H264 and read ;)

  • thank you man very much for the responses

ofcourse you can import from the hdv to whatever format you want to the pc...

    I'm really confused here :/

EOS 7D it's an amazing tool, not only for videos but you can get amazing photos ofcourse...

buying just a video camera doesnt give you good photos...

(sorry but for some reason it didnt post my link :S)

i see that those artifacts may be from bad flash or users fault...

can you give me some reasons why to choose a xl h1s and not EOS 7d?

  • character limit:

    i mean except better anti-aliasing...

    why xl h1s costs 6000€ and eos 7d 1500?

i know there are a lot of better things but i'm so new that i cant find those...

4 thousand more euros for just better aliasing?

can you give me a hand here to understand some basics? ofcourse you can give me your msn if you have one...

    Thanks
