Clark ends up with Lois in the end, that didn't happen for the first seasons but people got hooked with the romance of Clana. Ratings were high and solid.
Now as Season 9,10 came. Ratings have dropped dramatically, Clois got hooked up, it did not save the show. Clana (and Lex) had an average 5 million viewers, while Clois has 2 million

The fact that this show has been on for ten years is an amazing feat. It has nothing to do with the coupling or low ratings for why its going off the air. Its not getting canceled. The writers and actors have chosen not to continue the show for another season. even if there was still 'clana' the ratings would be the same.

Also, ratings dropped around that time because it started getting tedious that he still hadn't learned to fly. I think its pretty safe to say that going into the show, most people knew lois and clark were a 'thing' even if they didn't read the comics. At the beginning of the show it was lanas time but eventually it was gonna have to be clois.

I'm sorry, I find Erica Durance disgusting. I like the character Lois, but I can't take her seriously everytime she comes on screen. Most of the time, when people compare Lana and Lois, they point out that Lana's supposedly built like a boy and Lois has a "figure". thanks to the SHOW now, it has RUINED reading or knowing it 4 me, now I realise why superman IS nothing as TRUE heroes as Batman! becoz the one who is posing as this dumb alien nothing that resembles any hero,he is jerk, show off, and totally is a loser to fall for someone like lois lame! someone who is weak and strives men of power to feel important! and this one in SV showed that he is ungrateful and does not hold on to the promises he makes! what kind of a hero is that to look up OR DOWN to?

i get what your saying but as a lana fan everyone knows that at the end he ends up with lois but its how they ended it.they basically said goodbye i hope i never see you again after years of being together.and i kno the writers probably couldnt do anything about it bcuz kristin kreuk chose to leave the show....but it was a drastic change from one leading lady to another...and that messed up the rating in my opinion

Smallville is NOT superman. Smallville is a different show and completely different from superman mythology. So you like to believe how the show lasted? Lets see.
Clark ends up with Lois in the end, that didn't happen for the first seasons but people got hooked with the romance of Clana. Ratings were high and solid.
Now as Season 9,10 came. Ratings have dropped dramatically, Clois got hooked up, it did not save the show. Clana (and Lex) had an average 5 million viewers, while Clois has 2 million

@ExTreMzoR ya but that wasn't because the coupling was bad. ratings started to drop when Lana was with Lex & kept decreasing from there. The fact that this show has been on for ten years is an amazing feat. It has nothing to do with the coupling or low ratings for why its going off the air. Its not getting canceled. The writers and actors have chosen not to continue the show for another season. even if there was still 'clana' the ratings would be the same.

@Suuuuumaaa no no. look lana has had other boyfriends and the ratings were fine. The Lex thing just grossed a lot of people out, myself included. As i said, ratings dropping didn't really have to do with who clark is with. and in fact this season has been doing really really well. especially since its in a friday slot which is known to be suicide for a show, unless its so popular it can sustain itself. & the writers haven't rejected the idea of an (sorry im gonna have to make this two comments)

@Suuuuumaaa 11th season (which i disagree with. extended seasons are usually disasters) which means, even if nothing comes of it, its doing very VERY well. Also, ratings dropped around that time because it started getting tedious that he still hadn't learned to fly. I think its pretty safe to say that going into the show, most people knew lois and clark were a 'thing' even if they didn't read the comics. At the beginning of the show it was lanas time but eventually it was gonna have to be clois.

A lot people got feed up after S4. Okay, so Clark's no longer HS, but he continues to not do a damn thing. People had to put with 3 seasons of adult Clark not doing a damn thing. All he does is bitch about himself and whine about Lana. NOT SUPERMAN AT ALL! I never stopped watching Smallville, but even I got feed up with it the BS. Thank God S8 gave us The Blur/ Superman, DP, and Lois Lane.

Either way, Lana Lang has always been a high school sweet heart that ended up an ex.

Smallville had a CHANCE to bring in new viewers with the way they presented DIFFERENT stories than the ones in the BORING comic stories, but falling into the trap of the comics had ME, for one, and almost like FIVE millions who used to see the show becoz it was different, original and even more beautiful than the DEAD comics ESCAPE from knowing this comics FOREVER!

There are many things to explain that LOIS is the ONE for Superman/Clark.
They belong together.
One of the many reasons is that.....Lois NEVER SLEPT WITH LEX LUTHUR. Human Kryptonite...is just past, nothing else.

LMAO,I love when people say Lois is the rebound. It's ridiculous. In every incarnation of Superman,the movies,cartoons,comic books,etc,Lois is his true love. It's always been and will always be that way. Lana was nothing but a highschool crush. In Smallville,they went beyond the highschool crush aspect & made Lanas character WAY bigger than she was supposed to be.But even so,Lois will always be "The one" & the most important love in Clarks life.They even say it in the show. I'm sorry, I find Erica Durance disgusting. I like the character Lois, but I can't take her seriously everytime she comes on screen. Most of the time, when people compare Lana and Lois, they point out that Lana's supposedly built like a boy and Lois has a "figure". Sorry to burst your insane bubble, but Lois is pretty much built like a (taller) boy, with the exception of having two large silicon sacks in her breasts. Don't believe me? Google it :)
