  • 9 people went down with the ship

  • These guys should have their own TV show.

  • This song seems especially appropriate for a particular Italian this week.

  • to see them do this live was fuckin awe-some!

  • 0:06 0:19

  • 06 19

  • Respect Metallica for that riff from Seek and Destroy.

  • this was my first introduction to Scatterbrain. 6th grade, at the hotel watching MTV!

  • What's the riff at 1:04?

  • @TalesMarreiros1988

It's "Lonely Is The Night" by Billy Squier

  • @Chudbeagle

    Thanks a million dude!

  • @TalesMarreiros1988 Also listen to "Nobody's Fault But Mine" - Led Zeppelin. That is where the sound originated from. if you want to hear where Billy Squire copied it from, listen to Led Zep - Pretty much this whole Scatterbrain video is full of it ...

  • iam - Thanks for posting this song/video.

Come listen to this single and more from the 70's, 80's - and now the 90's - four the summer on an Internet radio station you can listen to for free: "OffTheCharts!"

Go to Live365.com and type "Off The Charts" in the Search box. Click on the station logo and the station should begin streaming. There's also a direct link on my YouTube page.

    Thanks, once again!

  • Imagine how cool this would be if the audio were listenable.

  • Roddy Bottum at 0:14?

  • Most under rated band of all time! These guys can play!!

  • Hey Buckethead, this totally sux! Get some real audio fool!!!!

  • This is great stuff!! Wacky, Zany Dudes! Dude?! Dont call me that! I love the guitar riffs from other "Famous" songs. Very Clever! I remember them from Mtv, When they played videos..Duh!

  • The drummer re-tiled my bathroom.

  • great tune

  • what riff is 1:04????

  • Lonely Is the Night. Billy Squier

  • Awesome! It's actually a remake of their own Down With The Ship from when they were still called Ludichrist. After 2 albums (Immaculate Deception and Powertrip) they changed their name to Scatterbrain because of some legal problems, but it was still the same band with the same kinda humor.

  • @howthewestwaswon2 They had road cases still painted w Ludachrist logos when they played Club Soda in Vancouver Canada 1989-1991. Saw them 4 times. They were very nice, funny and extremely talented players. They did a double bill w GWAR.

  • @Gordfozzfoster: Man thanx for reminding me, I totally forgot about that GWAR with their chainsaws and stuff!

  • There was an updated version of this on their 3rd CD as well.

  • did Joey Ramone hold his nose at about 1:20?

  • yep

  • Ah Scatterbrain! I miss them. Good times!

  • Thanks for posting this one! I laugh every time I see this video! The dudes dressed up as chicks and the one dancing just kills me! LMAO! XD

  • One of my all time favorite albums of all time.

  • LMAO @ the Metallica nuns 0:38!!!!

  • this i a totally diffrent version from the album one

  • no it isnt its exactly the same i have the album and listen to it all the time. you are an idiot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • wow arent you so fucking riled up about what i said three months ago

  • lol i did get a little rowdy there huh?

  • its all cool

most comments on youtube do get the best of us

  • there's only one way to settle this!!! let's all get in a fight about some other old forgotten song! : )

yeah, i often an like "you fucking retard!" and the person on the other side is like "dude, all i said was i thought rainbow brite had one more stripe on her leggings" ... i guess youtube commenting is the new road rage! hahaha. :)

p.s. yeah. it is the same as the album... maybe just the really bad sound quality confused ya.

  • OMG!!! haven't seen this in YEARS!!!!!

  • How come talent like this u dont hear on the radio no more &^(

  • And I might add, Heavy Metal with a sense of humor

Qld. Australia

  • wats the name of the song at 1:15???

  • Aerosmith - Walk This Way

  • Does anyone know what song they play on this that starts at 1:59? Message me or whatever.

  • Um you're kidding right? It's Ain't Talkin Bout Love by Van Halen.

  • Damn dude I totally forgot about that song. The last time I listened to Van Halen was like a year or 2 ago.

  • Scatterbrain was the shit, makes me miss old headbangers ball

  • scatterbrain has a few good ones but this iznt one of em- unless you like frank zappa style shit

  • Cool shit man! It's been years..... Bloooood and Miiiiilk, Miiiilk and Blooooood!!!!

  • I lived near where they lived on Long Island, and saw them getting crazy many times! A really cool bunch of guys! What am I saying! The coolest!

  • so cool, aint heard this in so long

  • I met one these guys at my sister's house one day. Cool guy.

  • Was it just me, or was that Roddy Bottum from Faith No More in that line of people in the beginning? The guy w/ the blonde hair and sunglasses.....it would seem to make sense, since the flopping plastic fish towards the end is definately a take on the fish flopping around in Faith No More's "Epic" video..

  • Love this band.

Just played the "dont call me dude" om VH1 in australia

  • The lead guitarist is my friends cousin

  • Does anyone remember who SCATTERBRAIN was before they went to major label status? When they were a crossover punk band? They were called LUDICHRIST. and the had an album called IMMACULATE DECEPTION and the original version of "DOWN WITH THE SHIP" didn't have all those other songs. it was just a straight up thrash crossover song.

  • This is so cool... I got to see them back in 1990 and they put on one of the best shows I ever saw! So funny on drunken milkman Tommy dresses as a nun and at end of song he pulls open his nun robe and has huge fake breasts that squirted milk all over it was so friggen funny

  • God I love youtube. I've never seen this, yet I still own the cassette, "Here Comes Trouble". Classsiikkk, as far as I'm concerned.

  • I saw this awesomeness ONCE yrs n yrs ago on "Night Flight". Been looking for it off n on for at least 10 yrs. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for posting it! All I could remember was the parody of Faith No More's fishie.

  • OMFG!!! Four Words: FUNNIEST....METAL....VIDEO....EVER!!!

  • Man, I was all over this album when It came out. great stuff.

  • it is classic shit precisely

  • Can someone name all the songs hinted at in order?

  • Yes I can. I worked in radio then and I had a list of them. The one that throws people is the Phil Collins drum part.

  • 1 Voodoo Child - Jimi 2 Rock and Roll - Led Zep 3 Dazed and Confused - Led Zep 4 Seek and Destroy - Metallica 5 Lonely is the Night - Billy Squier 6 The Ocean - Led Zep 7 Walk this Way - Aerosmith 8 Heartbreaker - Led Zep 9 ??? 10 Roundabout - Yes 11 Roadhouse - Doors 12 Aint talkin bout Love - Van Halen 13 Where Eagles Dare - Iron Maiden 12 Star Spangled Banner 13 woody woodpecker laugh
  • Number 9 is: In The Air Tonight - Phil Collins

  • Wow thats right - hmmm, and I know that song like the back of my hand due to so many years of over-rotation by the radio stations. Mike Boyko of Scatterbrain definately plays it differently than Phil Collins did and with different tuning so it really threw me.

  • After Seek and destroy you forgot La Grange by ZZ Top on the rims of the drums.

  • The drum rim shots are the Lone Ranger theme, not La Grange.

  • thanks for uploading that shit man....so many memories....

  • I love this song for the "Seek And Destroy" and "Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love" intros. And I love this video because Joey Ramone's in it. RIP.

  • I love this shit
