Ughh.. Terrible.. I was guidon bearer for my flight and if I was as slow as this guy I would've been on my face nonstop.. Lazy and hands were wrong the whole time... the way he moved switched his hand showed laziness and weakness... And A BLUE ROPE!? UGHHH!!!!
@ArielPaulette Most TIs (IDs in the video as a "Drill Instructor"- come on! We can't even ID our own people properly?) have too much swagger which kills crispness, this SSgt's movements are correct- even the hand flips from the "strong grip" to the "weak grip" (Marine names) which someone else whined about. This SSgt is NOT crisp unfortunately, which makes for poor visual communication. But he executing each movement properly.
@DrillMasterTraining I know what DIs or as you say "IDs" are.. And it may have been proper BUT as you said it was not crisp and smooth as it should look.. and i know what weak grip and strong grip is.. My brothers are Marines but the branch in which we are in has nothing to do with the way a person holds their staff.. I still stand by what I said primarily though.. it looked completely lazy.
@ArielPaulette "IDs" means "identified" in this case, as in, "Identified in the video as a 'Drill Instructor.'"
Airmen are not called Drill Instructors, they are Training Instructors. The problem here is that the USAF SSgt in the video did not use the proper terminology. That is not responsible broadcasting.
I didn't disagree with you. You were correct on how it looked, I said it was proper procedure.
Tell your brothers that I thank them for their service to our country.
thanks for the video. I am the Guidon Bearer for my Civil Air Patrol Squadron, so this is helpful in showing me how the guidon is used properly in drill and formation.
