I recall that the first time I heard John Lennon's nearly Solo recording of "Revolution" on the white album that he was mimicking their smooth overlayered voices on this song.
Heard this in 1968-69 on the radio in St. Louis. My brother was home on a visit from Vietnam. He ran out and bought a copy of Atlantis by Donovan that was a hit but didn't buy this one. I have been searching for this for a long time. Thanks for posting. Very good version and emotional for me.
This reminds me of the summer of 1968. No stress, no mortgage, no dead lines, just living life as life was meant, music that made me feel good and a lot of time to enjoy it!
Awesome ! In the first instance, I didn´t believed that is a cover...the vocal and the notes are so perfect that for sure if not better, the song is performed in the very similar way that I used to ear in my youth. Back in the day, it is one of my fovorites! Thank you for posting!
I was a DJ when I was young.....we used to make the "miracle sound" by using two reel to reel tapes and playing the song back simultaniously....wowow I forgot about that
One of the few times I can recall where I loved a remake FAR MORE than the original version. I literally fell to my knees and cried when I heard the emotional crescendo. So incredibly powerful.
I can imagine! It also has a symphonic rapturous quality to it. The key change in the middle was innovative and then a choir like harmony comes which is really euphoric. I think this was a real gem that got buried somehow in all the other great music then. The Rascals "See" comes to mind also. Thanks again!!
this rendition sucks

Caught these cats in Columbus, Ohio back in late 1973...great nightclub group and they were as mellow as fine wine.

hmm.... kinda like THE LETTERMEN through a FLANGER... really, the treatment vocally is pretty cheesy... I guess everything is better with acid.

Kinda like the Critters on acid. Love the psyched out part. I still have my original 45 of this, but it's completely worn out, like me.

For another early example of phasing in a pop recording, hear Miss Tony Fisher "The Big Hurt".

I tend to agree. I think this is the best version of the song. But I love this sunshine pop era of music.
