  • will free floating hand gaurds fit to any receiver?

  • @Mo7Vsta

mostly, they are typically a standard size

  • i thought the free floating was due more to harmonics of the barrel more than the reasons you gave you know the floppiness in slow mo vids

  • great explanation! glad I watched and subscribed

  • so if i want to take my front sight off i have to remove the pins and muzzle break im getting ready to buy troy front and rear sights

  • I think 2 peice free float is the way to go =)

  • cool video...lots of info...at what occasion or distance would you say that a free float makes a significant difference in terms of precision?

  • @juki009 If you're talking free floating, then yes it is really the absolute way to go for precision.

  • @1776PatriotTeen Yes, granted that free floating will make a improvement in precision, when will it make a significant difference? If say I wanted to engage targets up to 300m and my expected level of precision would be around 3-4 MOA, would it be practical to go free float or maybe just get a heavier barrel?

  • @juki009 I have an AR15 with a heavy barrel profile and free float handguards. It also keeps my IR laser in alignment better because you aren't transferring direct vibration from the barrel.

  • Okay, next we need a video about polish flashlight handguards for the AK-47! ...I don't know which one to get. halp!

  • So it just sags now when it get hot :)

  • @ArtisanTony

naw, even under full auto fire they wouldn't get hot enough to sag on their own from just gravity, but they would be soft enough to bend a bit under pressure

  • @GunWebsites haha, I was trying to be funny but did not exceed.

  • @ArtisanTony

Oh, I know, I just figured I'd take the opportunity to address that sine I gotta assume the question is gonna come up

  • how old do you have to be to own a ar 15

  • @eddy12342

    18 in the US

  • @GunWebsites yes thank you so much!

  • @eddy12342 handguns and fully automatic fire arms 21 anything besides those 2 are 18

  • After seeing that SBR, and the retro AR15, I have to ask you.. what' s your username on AR15.com?

  • @TheHiddenPart

I don't think any of us have accounts there.. too much fighting and "internet experts" for our tastes

  • For lack of better words..... I love you and your videos.

  • The idea is that you don't lay the fore end on the sand bag, but lay it on your hand, which is laying on the sand bag. That should retain whatever accuracy your rifle was capable of to begin with.

  • @vyxaer You're still causing the barrel to be bent upwards.

  • @1776PatriotTeen You'd be holding it the same way as when you shoot otherwise, so you'd be consistent. And consistency is what it's all about.

  • @vyxaer true, true! Either way I just free float it. Insurance if you will.

  • @GoldenRing1989

    no special upper needed

  • Thanks.

  • This is a nice gun. But will it blend!

  • It is due to harmonics ... vibration. Can U discuss the laws about barrel lengths.

  • @mba2ceo

sure, we have another series planned to cover AR barrels

  • @mba2ceo Anything under 16 inches of barrel length or the rifle's overall length is less than 26 inches needs to be registered with the NFA. Do your research. It's really not that hard.

  • Is it true that if you don't use it you loose it? I could of sworn that there was a tiny tiny little troll that was supposed to hold the barrel in place on free float's.

  • Third

  • I'm thinking unless your shooting full-auto, the difference really is negligible. In the civilian market its really preference, just my opinion.

  • @apachepjh

oh yea? I'd like to hear what a long range shooter, hunter or sport shooter has to say about that

  • @GunWebsites I meant as far as bbl heat issues (bending), barrel harmonics will be an issue at range. I am sport shooter my ar gets .50" @ 50yrds standard handgaurd. that's good enough for me. But if i were using a scope and shooting 500yrds i would definitely have a freefloat handgaurd, or better yet my cz 550.

  • second

  • First!

  • @erikpeterson88

    But can you blend?

  • @GunWebsites Touche! But to answer your question. Only every second Tuesday of every other month.

  • @GunWebsites I can=D

  • oh also thanks for another great video^.^
