I think with this piece, whether fast or slow, you have to ignore all the notes and play to the spaces in between the notes. Actually, this is a very good performance. I'm sure she's quite capable of playing it slower, but it is worthwhile to see if it works at a faster tempo as well, i.e. to experiment a bit.
I just watched Rampal play this piece, and your interpretation is very similar. He played it with a faster tempo too. It's a solo piece, and it's up to the flutist to do what he or she wants with it. This is really beautiful. Meri
its actually better if your flute is at an angle :P sounds better and apparently better for you bodyr or something. Atleast that's what my private lessons teacher says. Very pretty.
Personally i think that it should be taken at a slower tempo, as this a peice where expression is the main focus. Not to say that she didn't have expression, but In my opinion, i think that she could have stretched it a bit more. Otherwise, beautiful performace. Defiantly shows off your technique.
keep ur flute up.. ur tone sounds good but could be better if u kept the lfute up.. .. i would say slow down. the peice should sound like a dragonfly flying over a pond
Lovely, but yes, a little fast. I have always interpreted it as a little slower. It might have been nerves? When I'm nervous I tend to speed up. But, lovely lovely. :)
You have a great sound. But I think you play the piece too fast. It's too frantic rather than introspective. The song is about Pan's lament over losing the person he loved. If played too fast, it sounds kind of scary, not mournful. Otherwise, great technique and a beautiful sound!
SHE IS HOT I WANA SEE THIS FLUTE BEING PLAYED SOMWHERE ELSE DOWNNNNNN LOL

what about this dreadful love story makes you interpret this piece as something that should fly by at a demoralizing tempo?

dang. you sound suh-weet in that big room. it does sound a little fast, but, hey- at least you have the chops to play it at that tempo. :)
