  • I just found out about this song and band last night. Ever since then I've listened to them literally about 100 times. This song really just gets me mellow and allows me to forget about the stress I've had lately for at least a little bit.

  • Nice with a bit of Wye Oak and a bit of Kid Sam on the old mix tape

  • im so fucking pissed off

  • Love when nobody knows this kind of bands. I mean, it's like a little treasure for those who really enjoy music and find that treasure and then you feel lucky. At least I feel quite lucky

  • @SemiToneBlew hahaha glad to know im not the only one :D

  • Love this in my ears, pedaling thru downtown skyscraper canyons--it echoes and soars so perfectly.

  • OMG, I discovered this song a long time ago, but forgot all about it! So

thrilled I stumbled upon it again.

  • this is my fav. film school song! Ive been hearing lots of other california bands trying to sound like these guys. im hella glad these guys came from sf!

  • epic song..

  • Great band! I'm so sick of everyone catergorizing this as shoegaze or that as shoegaze! I'm 38 and witnessed Slowdive, Ride, Pale Saints, My Bloody Valentine and others. They hated being called shoegaze! It was name that the people of NME and Melody Maker used to tag all of them! Lame!

  • @eric1012wi Jazz was a dirty word when it was first being thrown around. I think people learned to deal with it. Whether or not you like the genre title this has been given, it's going to stick.

  • @eric1012wi I agree they are more dreampop than shoegaze more like Isn't anything MBV combined with Daydream Nation Sonic Youth!!!

  • this is wonderful music

  • would you say this would be good to plat at a laid back party

  • someone recommend me more shoegaze

    really good shoegaze

  • This is like taking elevator music to a whole other level. I would definitely like this song in the background at the dentist's office while getting my teeth drilled. Great stuff!

  • @LamourNeDurePas, welcome to fucking Facebook/TwitterMySpace universe.

Even the dumbest, most despicable and worthless pieces of human shit are now being defied (also "defined") as any ignorant fuck with a cell phone. The most-current one you have, the most EVIL you are.

Welcome to Hell on earth, even Aligheri's "Inferno" could not be as horrific as this!

  • you have a future in comedy-writing! Go for it! You might have to learn to be a bit more thoughtful & original, but I bet you figure it out eventually!

  • who the hell is this guy? a worker for the damn

NBC headquarters or some shit! in the words

of faggot ass chris crocker BITCH PLEAASSE!!! BITCH PLEASE!!!

  • "Nu Gaze" lol

  • Kevin Shields has fathered more offspring than Nadya Suleman and Screamin' Jay Hawkins combined.

  • 'Kevin Shields has fathered more offspring ...'

Hmmm, probably not. Primal Scream nick-named him 'Bagpuss' when he was playing with them - a great musician; but not so energetic.

  • Way to completely miss the point of my comment.

  • Aye, it's called a joke 'joy' grenade.

  • Comment removed

  • haha ya definitley. i was just wondering

  • so wat kind of music would this be labeled under, cause ive never really heard anything like this before

  • labels are for marketers. just enjoy, yeah?

  • You know you want to say shoegaze. Get it off your chest.

No, I agree: you either enjoy something or you don't - that's all there is to it. & this is terrific.

  • i think jytgattozzi was asking so he/she could find more of the same stuff...

i dont know what it is but im also curious.

  • Shoegazing is one of the best things of the world!

  • @Lattenkreuz Check out this cool new band, you can download their EP FREE here:

    wwwthemindcinemacom

  • @Lattenkreuz i dont get the shoegazing joke?

  • @1717km You mean you think it's a joke, or you don't know where the term comes from? If the latter: It's droning, dirgy, atmospheric, "look down at your shoes while you're playing your instrument" music.

  • Wow, Film School are amazing, I've never heard of them before. I'll have to check out some of their music!!!

  • I'd HIGHLY recommend their self-titled album. Amazing.

  • Awesome song, awesome vid. Love them!

  • What an amazing song, caught my attention immediately!

  • I'm in love with this song :) They have great tracks but this one is wow.

  • seamni ctosi l fleuers tomataces le pourets

  • this song is even better live<3

  • What effect is used in the intro of the song?

  • maybe a soft, fast, flanger with rotating speaker. or just a flanger.

  • Thanks

  • delay with chorus

  • It's nice to find shoegazing is on the rise again.

  • Just discovered this band. They are excellent. Pink Floyd type sound. Wonderful.

  • Film School <3 j'en suis devenue fOlle..

  • this songs takes me back to a time when i didnt have a care in this world. How times have changed.

  • This song has a tranquil, dream-like quality. It reminds me of a soft rain in a field...

  • Io AMO i Film School.

    I meglio, credetemi.

  • you should shutup cockmaster. Why don't you light yourself on fire asshat!

  • well, I guess that's a different perspective!

  • looking at some of the sophomoric shit that you watch and listen to, maybe I'd care more, but you are obviously a punk loser, so we will relish in your descent into oblivion, asshole! Lotsa luck!!!

  • It's got a warm, lush sound that appeals to me.

  • interesante

  • this is some good stuff

  • me gusto mucho el estilo de esta banda, nunca la habia escuchado. interesante

  • wooh the singer grew a beard

  • how come he(singer) changed the WHOLE band lineup?

  • "I don't believe the things that you say"...

  • film school is COOL

  • I discovered this band a few months back, they are amazing... I really dig what I've heard so far...

  • Is this the rebirth of shoegazing. I really really hope so.

  • interesting and provocative thought, nmt; well-played, my friend.

  • The rebirth of Shoegaze has already come. S'called Nu-Gaze. "Amusement Parks On Fire" are one example of a band in this genre.

  • If you guys are into instrumental rock, give us a listen. Leap Year Astronaut.

  • I am loving this label. Vampire Weekend, a band called Holy F*ck and now this. I wanna meet those talent scouts!

  • dude, I bet if you ask Burton, Krayg, you will get an answer...

  • Agreed, Brazil7910! Beggars label rocks!

  • i could vibe out to this on some high shit haha...good song though

  • Love them, its beautiful.

  • I'd kick her bass pedals anytime!!! (Yes, I know, I'm pathetic!)

  • I would believe ANYTHING she said...

  • does anyone know who is the extremely hot bass player in this vid? Burton and his history of bandmates (Ruck, Lannon, LaBo, Montesano) and their bands (Elephone, Fuck, Technicolor) make no mention of any smokin' bass player, looks like she has some big beautiful brown eyes, man, I love her.

  • Beautiful

  • good show last night @ the fillmore w/ swervedriver! film school rocks!

  • honeymoon music.

  • damn, I wanna be on THAT honeymoon!!!

  • very Curve-like, very Jesus & Mary Chain-like, obviously, but Frankie likey!!!

  • this song ruhlz

  • this is my favorite song of the new album. tis band transcends much of what I've heard in some time. it's so cool to haAve discovered them!!

    xo, d

  • amazing music.

  • Kudos eh. im really liking this label or w/e it is they have going. im wish u all the best this music is made of magic

  • :) Beggars Banquet has been a great label for many many years.

  • stupid question, are any of the Stones associated with Beggars Banquet label?

  • I'm not sure, but of course the label probably took the name from the Stones album. If you look up Beggars Banquet on wikipedia, the entry gives some history and lists several affiliated labels/labels that are a part of the "Beggars Group" - though I'm guessing those are fairly small and thus probably not distributing music from acts as big as the Stones.

  • thanks for the insight elizicw. I find it hard to believe that the Stones label would allow the use of the words "Beggars Banquet" without some sort of compensation...

  • I don't know about that- did Rolling Stone Magazine pay the Stones for use of their name?

  • good point! well played, my friend!
