You can make the same set-up and make it a little more snag-proof by just putting a bullet weight on your line and then a swivel on the end instead of the drop shot weight. Where I fish the egg-shaped drop shot weight gets hung up a lot.
hey, i have a question, so i fish at a lake where u could see the basses inside the water, everytime i cast something in there, they'll stare at it then just swim away, i tried gulp, buzzbaits, jigs, spinnerbaits, frog, worms, leeches, and they won't take anything. wat do u suggest i do?
normally it's better to fish for predators in murkier waters, if they can see you, or they see a humungous hook, they'll probably swim away. the bigger the fish, the bigger the brains.
you should try staying as far as possible from the fish, if you can see them, they can see you, also work on your cast, cast in and present your lure as subtle as possible. also let your lure sit for awhile before working it, if that dont work then give it up, the fish are too smart, haha jk.
long casts with downsized lures sometimes works. Try a small natural color senko or tube jig and make sure you use the florocrabon line. If all else fails try a natural color crankbait and bang it into the cover and try for reaction strikes. Good Luck!
If I only had $15-30 to spend, what lures or soft baits would you guys suggest for purchase? I'm going for mostly bass and panfish. Anything that can catch multiple species actually. Any help?
You can tie just about any knot as long as you put the tag end of the line back through the eye of the hook. I personally tie a reverse clinch knot and just put the tag end back through the eye of the hook and it stands up every time.

I tie that knot, but my hook doesnt stand straight out, any tips??

Use a standout hook, but i dont use them either. I use simple gamakatsus.
You're hook wont stay straight, but that doesnt really matter since the lures you use should float.
