  • If the bridge is "falling" that means you need to get thicker strings and do a proper setup with the springs in the back and the fine tuners on the bridge. You can't lower your tuning without doing these properly otherwise you're going to have a lot of issues. One of the main reasons why I hate tremolo's, there's too much work involved and you need to fine tune them at least once a month if you only play regularly, I just bought this guitar with the gibralter fixed bridge, I can't wait to play!!

  • wow ur really good....can u teach me ur finger picking?...? :/

  • oh and your really good. just thought i'd let u know even though u probably already knew

  • mabey the top nut isn't tight enough

  • Hey guys I am getting Morpheus Downtuner for Christmas and if anyone wants to know how it works just hit me up after Dec 25th or maybe I'll do a review.

  • you said you has tuning problems. did you use thicker strings for low tuning?

  • Can i put EMGs or Blackouts 9V on this guitar?

  • @Kirkasradio yeah, i just put the zack wilde emg set on mine, sounds freakin awesome

  • TUNING PROBLEM? I duno what you mean, i just bought RGA72TQM yesterday and today i tuned from Standard E to Standard B and its all fine and i didnt have any problem...

  • I have this same guitar. Its freaking amazing! I play in drop c (cgcfad) with 11 gauge strings, and i dont have any tuning problems at all. But then again I barely use the tremelo. When I do though it only goes slightly out of tune, and I really mean slightly. I dont know if the dropped tuning and heavy gauge strings helps with that or not. This guitar is so easy to play, I recomend it to any one. Plus its at a pretty good price. Mine only cost me $520!!!

  • Seems to be a great guitar, I will try it as soon as I can...

By the way, what's the song at 3:05? I heard it, but I can't remember the name and the band, it's driving me crazy!!

  • @Beriol9

    Dream theater-wait for sleep

  • @TheGuitarKrazy10

    Oh yeah right, thank you!

  • Oh never mind I just saw it lol

  • Bro also my bridge fell into the cavity any idea why?!?!

  • I wish I saw this before I got this yesterday. I basically went from drop C to standard by itself -_- but I hate the strings it came with so I'm gonna change them

  • Not to forget: I divebombed very often that gig, and it stood in tune. So I think it's just the better springs and the right gauge for the right tuning.

  • Got the same guitar, changed the tuning to Eb and put 52-10 on it. Adjustetd it (The Edge 3 has to be parallel to the body) and had tuning problems when using the whammy. I bought 2 new springs from Göldo and 1 etrxa heavy string from göldo, but 46-10s on, and... *drumroll* It stays in tune. I gigged with it 2 days ago, had to tune before the gig, and that was the last time I tuned at that evening (Played 2hour full set). So, what about buying new and better springs?

BTW: Whats the song at 3.11?

  • @Kinslaya How did you get the springs on!? When I took mine in to get it tuned down and heavier gauge strings put on, I asked the tech guy about puting on another spring on because the guitar came with a spare. He said it could not be done because there is this thing over where you attach the springs and if you take it off it could get really fucked up. How did you do it?

  • @xHaSte2012x You're right. There's a thing with 2 screws over the springs attached on the Tremolo-Block. So u can't put in more than 3 springs (Maybe even 4, if you just put 1 screw of that "springholder-thingy" in and use the free hole.) But that's not something for longer time. I bought some extra strong springs from göldo (a German company). These strings are mostly made for Down-tuned guitars with Floyd. I put in 2 extra strong (The outer 2, and 1 normal that I also bought from Göldo)

  • (cont.) The new springs are also good, because sometimes I think the stock springs are just "baggy". Maybe the guitar hung in the store for a year and nobody played it, so they could be worn. BTT: With that Göldo normal and this 2 extra strong springs I never had any problems anymore. I play in normal Eb-Tuning (No Drop) with .10-.46 strings.

  • I didnt understand, which are the tunning problems?

  • In order for you to drop-tune in any guitar with a double-locking tremolo (And there is no way to avoid the Bridge recessing back when you do this. Ever. As far as I know), you must use the fine-tuners... and even getting it to where you can is difficult. However, If you wanted a guitar that you can easily drop tune with, you should have invested in a guitar with a set bridge. Otherwise, it is more convenient to save up and purchase another guitar for your alternate tunings.

  • Is this a good guitar for playing metal? Like Shadows Fall,Death,Kreator, etc

  • How much does this guitar weight? :) And I have heard that you can remove tremolo at all on this guitar? Is it so? And if you can remove tremolo, will the tuning problems disappear? Do you know by chance?

    Thanx!

  • do you stretch your strings when you put new 1s on

  • I mean no disrespect here, but the Floyd falling into the body when downtuning happens to ANY guitar with a Floyd unless it's set up every time it's downtuned. Even changing guages can affect it. It's got nothing to do with this guitar and everything to do with Floyd Rose equipped guitars themselves.

It's not a fault of the guitar, it's a con of the Floyd. Want to do divebombs etc? better get used to it

  • @Squidy666 Cant you just get thicker strings so the pressure is still up when downtuning?

  • @CodeNashor You can, but you'd have to judge the guage and tension very well. If you find strings you like you'd need to set the bridge up again anyhow. Even then, you'd have to change the intonation so you may as well just get it right the first time or it'll be out of tension and out of tune :)

  • @Squidy666 Does it really have to be so complicated? why is it so important that the bridge is up a bit? im just wondering, no offense! if the tension is high, the bridge is up and when the tension is low (cuz maby downtuning) the bridge is down. Why cant it just be that easy with floyd rose? thanks for response!! I do agree, you are not completely free at tuning with floyd rose, but thats all i know about it ^^

  • @CodeNashor You can, but to find the guage to get the right tension is pretty hit and miss. More often than not you need to reset the bridge, at the very least change the intonation. As to why it's so difficult? I'm not sure, but it pays off in the end :) The floyd is floating, not like a standard bridge, so any change in tension will change it, sometimes subtley, sometimes dramatically

  • GODDAMNIT DUDE, just buy some fucking thicker strings and tune it your fucking 1 step down ffs. I just tuned it 2 whole steps down with .011 - .056 strings and the bridge is NOT falling into the body by any means! JUST GET THICKER STRINGS dude, it works!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • you can down tune with harder Strings...

  • I've had a lot of problems with mine too. All tuning problems, how do I fix it? I have to go to a tech everytime I change strings.

  • Tremol-no my brother! Have them installed in all my Floyd/ Edge equipped guitars. Installs with no modifications in 30 minutes too. Detune all day and night or until your head explodes! $50 on ebay. BTW just picked up this guitar for a cool $300. Oh yeah great demo, great playing, thanks for sharing!

  • it is very nice guitar

    where is made?

  • IS that Dream Theater's Wait For Sleep I can hear at 2:57?!

  • awesome sound i will buy it

  • man, of course you had tuning problems, you just dont change tunnings in a tremolo guitar, its like a law. for an exemple, u cant just turn your standard E tuning to a standard D tuning. to do that, you would have to unlock the nuts, then tune it down and adjust it on the back of the guitar. You probably wouldn't have the tuning problems if u just didnt tried to change the guitars tuning. =/

  • @wtfwasthatt I cant tune this piece of crap full stop, the problem is poor design.

  • Don't you think, that you have been unlucky with your guitar??? I have just YouTubet "Ibanez RGA72TQM" because it looks like one the coolest Ibanez for the price, and just like Daniel, I need to buy another guitar as a Christmas present for myself.

  • @ABshookme ya i do feel unlucky...coz it wud b really great if i dont have to go to tech every time i wanna change the tuning...anyways..i hav a schecter 7 string too so i use dat for diff tuning and kept dis guitar fr standard E...

  • @mrudul13 HELLO, I ALSO JUST BOUGHT THIS GUITAR and I have exactly the same problems, I tune through the strings, and by the time i get to the high E, the low E is flat again?!? If you havent already, take it back now!! Steer clear away from this model, very poor design, its a piece of crap. I thought how wrong can you go with a £600 Ibanez? How wrong I was.....

  • im thinking about buying one, is it nice to play on?

  • @danielclarky apart from all the tuning problems..i wud say it has a great playability..especially wit low action..when i play it..its pretty effortless to do long runs..and no matter wat but its tone is really amazing and noise free..i dont need to use the noise gate at all...so the only prob is the tuning part which can be fixed by taking the guitar to a tech and setting it up..for any tuning..so u cud go for this guitar..

  • @mrudul13 cheers for the reply!

  • @mrudul13 Can you actually put the original floyd rose

    in it? :)

  • what i suggest when you detune is put something between the bridge and the body like a piece of wood or something, and then downtune.

  • @amithabajan2 tried dat ... doesnt work bridge falls down into cavity after i remove the spoon or watever...big prob man

  • @mrudul13 damn. thanks, you saved me £500. i was thinking of buying this guitar and i'm constantly in drop-d.

  • @amithabajan2 All guitars with trems do this. Every single one of them. Ever made. You just have to set the guitar up for the new tuning, there's nothing wrong with this guitar.

  • damn your good especially with the harmonics :D
