I dont' think there's any sexual tension. Maybe on Faith's side, but not Buffy's. I think they just have a deep connection due to living life as slayers. It's a lonely road as the show is always discussing...so to have each other on that same road, one straight and narrow, the other a wild child/murderer always fighting her own demons (no pun intended)...I think that's the tension, sex is too simplistic to describe it, and Buffy doesn't swing that way anyway.
