@Agent1W It was inspired by diagrams of the human muscular system. GREAT opening scene... terrible flick. Keanu & Winona just derail it entirely, ESPECIALLY Keanu who couldn't fake an English accent!

I think Anthony Hopkins is also the priest in the opening scene, I just realized that. Gary Oldman is an acting god, such intensity and passion, he is inspiring, a real actor not like the type that exist nowadays.

Saw a book about the movie. The designer was trying to make it look like muscle fibers.

Thanks for that geminilegend - ive been on the actual creators site and they only specialise in making armour for films..but it didn't mention anything about the inspiration for it!..muscle fibers sounds spot on!!
