Wow! An amazing version of one of my all time favorites. Btw, just in case anyone missed it, at the end she is taken away to be committed to a mental hospital. One of the saddest and most beautiful songs I have ever heard.
this song was was written by Shel Silverstein the same guy who wrote songs for Judy Collins and lots of others including "boy named sue" for Johnny Cash.
@DirkjeA I think that you have missed the meaning my friend; she does feel the warm wind in her hair as she falls from the building and she sadly thinks about her Paris dreams as she plummets to her inevitable death. Sorry to disappoint you.
@scragger07 I think you are right, just looked at the lyrics and to my dissapointment she found her forever..... oh well, I can blame it on the fact that Dutch is my native language... lol... thanks for the information, but I will always listen to this, still beautiful song, with a completely different feeling.
@scragger07 I think she goes mad and the man takes her to a psychiatry. Makes more sense, especially because of the "white car" and all. Just a thought.
@scragger07 As far as I understand the lyrics, she doesn't plummet to her inevitable death. She is standing on the roof to kill herself but then an ambulance comes and takes her to a mental institution. "And she bowed and curtseyed to the man(...)who led her down to the long white car that waited past the crowd", so she doesn't realize it's an ambulance and she thinks the white car rides her through Paris. Does this make any sense?
@Linus107 This is not a sad song, at the end she does go to Paris and drives in a sportscar and feels the warm wind in her hair. She sings in the last verse:
die Frau hat leider ein Problem oder aber auch das Management ... sie war sehr sehr sexy und unglaublich überzeugend ... damals ... leider ist das Video gecancelt, wie wohl auch so sehr viel auf youtube der Zensur zum Opfer fällt ...
ein sehr schönes Lied

She is on the rooftop, and jumps down "with the warm wind in her hair".
She can't go from her rooftop to Paris in real life, just in her suicidal fantasy.

@mrsmikeymike You are right. I misunderstood the song. So it is a sad story.
Pity, I thought she finally did go to drive through Paris with the warm wind in her hair.
