  • If you heard Enya's music for the first time then died 10 seconds into the song, you'd've lived a happy life.

  • thumbs up if you understand her irish

  • enya is better than lady gaga!

  • Is this in that movie crash? it sounds really familiar, great song.

  • Where can I find an English Translation to this song?

  • Alba gu bragh!!!

  • @Ravenslove35 Éire go brách ;)

  • pure ambient bliss...

when im loosing my foothold ur songs relieves my stress and puts me right back up.

i am forever grateful to u and ur graceful voice.

    -from NJ, USA

  • I have followed this wonderful artist's development for a very long time. When I got this song my then bf was infatuated with her work too because she was using synthesized music and he too was into it and so between us on quiet nights high up in our loft we would play this song and enjoy. I love your music. A very talented person indeed.

  • Thank you for recommending enya.sk I should visit it myself more often :) and thank you for uploading this video. This song always reminds me of my youthful summers and brings peace to my heart. It is a sweet melody that reminds me of love all around from spirits of loved ones now departed.

  • thanks for this song, eithne

  • love the sound of her voice a friend showed me this vid n she just sounds beautiful

  • @123braddixon WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

  • This woman was so beautiful in her youth, and sang great ... Now is just as beautiful, and sings even better!

Without doubt, the best voice in the entire world...

  • Maith an cailin Enya

  • This piece could have been sung around the campfires of William Wallace or King Malcolm, or Boudeca, or a WWI soldiers' foxhole (very softly). A song that reaches though the ages, from the past to now and well into the future generations; timeless.

  • This takes me back to trips to Ireland, visiting Bloody Foreland etc ... If you have been there, this music grasps you even more, although the images already do part of the trick. Depicts an innocence that is so hard to imagine these days.

  • Makes me proud to be a Brennan :)

    (Although I don't understand a single word)

  • I AM A VIRGIN FOR HER DESIRES

  • enya has been having hot flashes and well i think she thinks of me when there happening I AM A VIRGIN FOR HER DESIRES

  • @SELFproclaimedVIRGIN you're insane. get out of here with that insanity.

  • I LOVE YOU ENYA

  • This song makes me go back to my youth. All through high school when I was about to become an adult, this song really brought be back to memories of when I was a child.

  • wow, i played this on a whim remembering how my high school girlfriend and i (both utterly ignorant of gaelic then and now) used to listen to this in utter rapture and inspiration. to realize, in translation, what she is singing now- 15 years later. wow.

  • lks so 80s - MAYBE early 90s

  • lol if you click on the share button, the shortened link ends with "mrSHitU". How awkward and messed up. YouTube is weird.

  • An bhfuil an Gaeilge a teanga dúchais?? Tá mé ag fiafraigh seo, ach silim go bhfuil an Gaeilge a teanga dúchais. Tá brón orm nach bhfuil an Gaeilge mo theanga dúchais. Eithne go deo !!!

  • I AM A VIRGIN

  • This is the song that when I was a kid always put me to sleep. I love Enya

  • one word: "smoking hot!"

  • It makes you think, all those who prayed there are now dust, long gone, forgotten to all but God.

  • I AM A VIRGIN FOR ENYA

  • I am scottish irish and welsh. Tho i haven't look into my heritage i would love to. I would love to Lear their Languages, Culture. History, and their arts. Enya you have inspired me to want to learn about my Heritage and its ancient ways and meanings.

  • Trololololol MARCEL SENT ME, PEACE N LOVE HOMIE

  • that picture with the cars at the end is a total damper on that gorgeous song. completely ruined it. lame. but beautiful otherwise.

  • @nichisis This is Leo's Tavern, the pub run by Enya's father. So yes, the picture isn't that great, but it must have some kind of sentimal value :)

  • Nothing can compare... No one can resist.... the beauty of Enya's singing. Her voice definitely comes full out in the Celtic sounding songs. Puts me in some sort of a trans.... unbelievable. Like I said... no one, and nothing can compare or resist to listen through an entire song of Enya's.

  • hahahahahahahahaha!

  • lindo!!!sinto mta paz,qdo ouço as músicas da Enya é maravilhoso, como ser transportado para outro lugar, outro tempo..lindísimo!!!poesia pura...

  • You know, you all should just not base opinion on ANY race based on who you've met. You haven't met every person of that country. Hating another race is stupid, especially on a Youtube video. Just listen to Enya and relax, we all have a common interest here.

  • why would IRELAND protect BRITAIN? Southern Ireland isnt connected to britain. The language shes speaking is Gaelic. and you are all americans i am going to safely assume? mainly because you're so amazingly ignorant of anything .

  • if you were replying to foreignerpoland's comment.....that poster is from Poland. I don't get this ridiculous diatribe against us Americans.12% of us are Irish for chrissakes. FYI the term "British Isles" as defined in all uptodate English dictionaries and encyclopedias includes the entire island of Ireland. This is only disputed by those who feel it's inappropriate due to the word British's link with the UK. But it isn't wrong to refer to Ireland as part of the British Isles.

  • @Leeder1109 Considering we're leaders of the world's scientific and technological advances, pioneers of much of its pop culture, location of the best secondary institutions of learning on earth, I doubt very much that we as a whole are "amazingly ignorant of anything." Maybe turds who spew garbage on youtube, yes there's lots of those, but certainly not the majority of us. It's just that idiots are the most vocal.

  • @gariadara Yer a loser! yer a learder in nothing but killing...and youre right IDIOTS ARE the most vocal.....YOUR USA is the most obnoxious country in the world! and one of the most hated.......hey CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

(watch how fast I look for your reply....OOPS I cant I have a life! ) GET ONE THEY'RE NICE! I was only online cause I had a break at WORK. ya know...a JOB. hahahahaha

  • @Leeder1109 "yer a learder in nothing but killing"

I think besides that we definitely are leading the world in the number of Nobel Prize Winners. We also don't have all the killing associated with your various breakaway IRA groups.....I think we were too busy coming up with the iPhone. We are you a leader in? Green grass?

  • @gariadara You know what? I rather see breakaway IRA groups do the killing then an entire fucking country that are to far up their own arse to mind their own business thinking they are the world police, don't you? All the bad shit in the world happens for a reason, your country is a big part of that reason, you just cant understand it.

  • @Ctuchik It's certainly not an entire country that thinks that way, what idiocy to blame the individual American for what the government decides to do. World needs a police, and only a superpower can be one. How exactly has our country been a big part of the reason of the world's bad shit? Are you talking about Vietnam? Iraq? Bush? Obama? or everybody? It's easy for Sweden to say such things, how safe will you be without about 100 countries between you and the powder keg that is the Arab World?

  • I'm Irish too but I don't understand a word she's saying....

  • @E654life get a life!

  • @E654life thats because you're an idiot?

  • @Leeder1109 An idiot because I don't know Irish? You got issues dude....

  • I'll miss always for true, Celtic lands, dominated by English language nowadays :/. Great song, I hope, that Scottish, Welsh, Manx & Irish people will begin protect the primal part of Great Britain :).

  • @foreignerpoland Tá súil agam go bhfuil tú ag foghlaim Gaelige nó go bhfuil Gaelige agat fós. Slán

  • special souls :)

  • reminds me of my dad. today it's been exactly one year since the funeral...

  • @Laurakbp1992 thats so sad im sorry

  • What do they eat in Ireland traditionally asides the proverbial "Corned Beef & cabbage"? I wonder......

  • @joel750 potatoes?

  • @joel750 Corned beef and cabbage is not really a traditional Irish food. The reason it gets associated with Ireland has something (I don't remember specifically) to do with Irish immigrants in America and a fusion with Jewish food in New York and Boston. Corned Beef and cabbage is really traditionally a Jewish food.

Irish food would be something more like rosemary beef stew, potatoes, or lamb. "Hearty" type foods. Rosemary is used in a lot of Irish cooking. Also fish... it is an island.

  • @ElizaKW

You know....i always had a suspicion that "Corned Beef & Cabbage" was NEVER an Traditional Irish dish! So, it's a Jewish thing all along huh!? .Well, considering that they invented the Pastrami on Rye sandwich, i think it's all good! XD I never thought that The Traditional Irish food has always been somewhere between Heart-Heathy & Comfort food but i still love their Irish Whiskey for the closest to that is Scottish Whiskey! XD

  • lindaaa!

  • A person who sings like this, NEVER, NEVER could be an evil spirit. I find in her consolation from all deceptions in my life and when everything seems to be lost, I feel she gently caress my soul give me comfort and tell me: "Everything is ok, this will pass, I give you my hope and my peace".

God How I love her, this music is celestial. CERTAINLY, THIS IS THE MUSIC GOD HEARS!!

  • @karlt10 To love God you don't to spend money. It has been since the beginning an eternal discussion about God existence. As a scientific I can tell you there many phenomenological events which certainly falls on an intelligence design. The apoenzyme-cofactor mechanism, organic aparatus-systeme, distance earth from sun, etc. They're such complex mechanisms to just merely explain as a random effect. At last is a choice to believe or not... atheism vs believers, an eternal dichotomy :)

  • @Hopffnung Best view of religion is to know just like our genetics tell us to do things, so does our spirit. Mankind has always believed in some form of a god now it is time for us to analyze this concept discover the mystery in modern ways. In the old days they called things by different names. I believe we were created yes and so was our world. Look at everything around you seems real doesn't it? This world is not the real one. We live in the illusionary sensory world. Beyond is divine

  • @Hopffnung What you see, feel, smell, touch, hear and things that seem to be physically there are not. In my theory coexisting with us is the non sensory world. If you'd take yourself touching a tree then flash over to non sensory it would be your spirit touching empty space and surrounded by emptiness going on forever and ever. People say ghost travel through walls? maybe because the wall is not there. Just a theory... However our gods created this sensory world and we shall rejoin them.

  • @Hopffnung What you wrote here are probably the most beautiful words I have ever read on youtube comments.

  • @presidentofeurope Many thanks, Enya is a relief in these chaotic times :)

  • @RobinRedcap, The Romans never landed in Ireland, It was England that they ruled for 400 years. They did beat us in the World Cup once ;-).

  • She sings in elfic.

  • @id104335409 or mezzo-soprano, but elfic sounds better :)

  • Das ist Musik was mir gefällt! Hail to those of Celtic background! You may have lost against the Romans but certainly not against the steady march of time. Wunderschön.

  • Filosofìa del corazòn...!

  • Filisofìa del corazòn...!

  • hey i'm irish... This song means 'the bright days of my youth'. It's about how she misses her youth. Her family...her parents...

  • love this video, especially the landscape. i like melancholic music.

  • Melancholy beauty is the magic of the Irish. I don't know what the title means - doesn't even matter because it probably wouldn't reflect the feeling this song evokes.

She has an ethereal beauty like Lady Diana. Thanks for posting

  • THis is epic

  • the words Na Laetha Geal M'oige...will be my next tattoo above and below my celtic cross tatto on my right inside forearm!

  • @DartsRme312 awesome :)

  • Reminds me of strolling through the old streets of Sterling... going deep into the highlands.. taking a boat unto the loch.

  • the whole indigenous culture from the british isles is incredible and all the home nations are forever entwined culturally. from the megalith people to the celts to the saxons to chivalric times. sadly many of the descendants of these ancient and mystical warrior people are clueless to their incredible heritage, and are in danger of forever losing their birthright, incredible artists like enya and loreena mckennit help keep the spirit alive

  • Is breá liom an t-amhrán draíochta sin, a deir sé gach rud faoi ár gcathair ina cónaí orm:) Is breá enya

  • I had the pleasure of visiting Dunlewey Church in Gweedore where this was filmed and can see where the inspiration comes from. Enya you are truly divine and bring great joy to the world with your music

  • this song was on a crimatie so nice song ;3

  • The ethereal beauty of Enya's music always makes me gasp in awe. I'm Scottish andd Welsh. The Irish language is lovely. Like the music of angels.

  • wonderful song, voice and also a wonderful language. I am arabic and german but I love irish people, music and Ireland of course. mashaallah, god bless enya

  • ENYA fantastic

  • Isn't there a God...whatever your relgion. The only explanation!

  • I wanted to write:

Tá mé ag foghlaim...... Leis an focal "ag" :-)

  • To all native gaelic speaker here:

Tá ceist agam. Is mise Gearmánach ach tá mé foghlaim Gaelige anois.

Isn´t the plural of an lá = na laethanna, not na laetha?

    Go raibh maith agaibh

  • @Biervampy Maith thú! Ní cainteoir dúchais mé ach tá an fhreagra do do cheist agam ;-)

(Good on ya! I'm not a native but I have the answer to you question.) The plural of lá is actually laethanta, and laetha is a variant plural of laethanta. :)

I recommend you get the 2 best modern dictionaries ever made on Irish: Foclóir Gaeilge-Béarla by Ó Dónaill, and the English-Irish dictionary by de Bhaldraithe - both big books and a lil pricy but soooo worth it. :))

    Aon ceistanna eile agat? ;)

  • @Gaeilgeoir Go raibh maith agat as do fhreagra. Níl ceist eile agam :-)

    Slán go fóill

  • @Biervampy Maith thú...ná bác leis. :)

  • Preciosa,Extraordinaria no hay palabras para definir a esta mujer . Tiene una voz como los angeles.

  • Truly awesome!! One of Enya's best. Magical and soothing. Hear this and die!! Enya is unique. Nothing else sounds more enigmatic than her material. What a voice. What divine music.

  • In these days of garbage, I am glad there are still artists who play and sing something very nice and drawback to the old times with beautiful videos. Enya is one of them - a true rarity and a gem! God bless her and may she continue to have a great successful career for all of us who like decency and listen to real music like this.

  • @SynthMusic4Ever THIS IS BEAUTIFUL....i listen to this with known meaning..and it really is sad/beautiful at the same time...i don't know about yourself..but i know i miss my youth...

  • It seems her eyes are not seeing this world of hell anymore

  • Extraordinario ,precioso, mágico . Como todo lo de enya..

  • It should be:

An bealach mór not mo. "Mór" ist great, big and "mo" is my.

With mo she should sing "mo bhealach", but you can hear that she sings

    mór.

    Slán go fóill.

  • Na laetha geal m'óige

Die grossartigen (geal = hell) Tage meiner Jugend.

    Bhí siad lán de dhóchas

    Sie waren voll von Hoffnung.

Warum erinnert mich das an mich?

  • Definitely one of my top favorite songs of Enya. I see things in retrospect when I listen to this. Very relaxing and makes your mind just take a look at certain memories...

  • I love Enya ! this music can take you away from this world, this one is one of my favorites specially for the vocalization in gaelic.

  • shes now pregnant with my twins

  • i thought irish speak english

  • @samsam24242

most do speak english and Irish Gaelic ... Well im from Scotland and i speak English and Scottish Gaelic.. Irish is different though.

Gaelic was a language that was going into extinction.. but alot of people are starting to speak more and more Gaelic.. if you go to places like North Scotland ( Highlands) you will see alot of Gaelic being spoken and lost of Gaelic signs.. Its a cool wee language to speak ;)

  • I've just return from a trip to Ireland. I got a opportunity to travel to the Donegal and Gweedore area. I love that area of Ireland. I saw some of the area where this video was filmed. Mt. Errigal, was breathtaking. The beach area around Bunbeg is beautiful. You can still see some of the damage that the storm cause last year. Next year, I will visit Gweedore area again and hopefully take the ferry to Tory Island.

  • @b42baritone yeah it's stunning round Gweedore, such natural rugged charm

  • just beautiful...
